I was so impressed on my first visit by the cleanliness of the gym and the friendliness of the owner, Jeff. I observed him motivating the person he was training and making sure the client had proper form. There were people of different ages and abilities. I felt welcome and did not feel judged. I highly recommend this gym and Jeff as a personal trainer. He will create workouts to help you reach your personal goals!

I started at Excel Fitness as I won a 3 month membership and some personal training in an auction. I started working out with Jeff once a week. Just once a week. Without changing anything else, I have lost 2% of my body fat. Excellent results! Flexible availability and real results.

I was in the West Hartford area for about 2.5 months and Jeff and Teddy were excellent at accommodating me into the gym. They helped make sure that I picked the most affordable membership plans for my fitness goals. They were excellent at accommodating personal training around my busy work schedule. And they both used humor and motivation to help me get through challenging workouts. Words just don’t do this place justice- this was the best gym that I have ever been too and has definitely set a standard for both the culture and equipment that I should look for in gyms at different areas.

I have been working out with Teddy Jimenez ...my personal trainer since becoming a member of excelfitness. I am challenged by him to go the extra mile every time I train. I have also been previleged to work with the other members of staff from time to time. The staff overall is very knowledgeable and professional. They tailor the workout programs to the individual...no matter the age, physical condition. I am very satisfied with the services provided here and highly recommend this Gym to all interested in improving their health. Jeff the owner, is a very personable fellow who possess a healthy sense of humor.

I scoped out Excel Fitness because they are authorized by Medicare as a Silver Sneakers site. This is a free class for seniors. With it comes a free membership to the gym. I stayed because I love the intimate, laid-back atmosphere, terrific trainers, and progress I am making in my fitness. I pay to train with Teddy Jimenez who also does the Silver Sneakers class. He is a delight and a wonderful professional trainer. The gym has all the equipment I can imagine. It is never crowded. No pool, but friendly, unassuming professionals and clients who become friends. If you are looking for a big warehouse of exercise equipment, lots of noise, impersonal staff, turnover of trainers, don't go to Excel Fitness.
