Nearly all class instructors are excellent! Class diversity is great! I have enjoyed the classes and most members are very courteous and considerate in the equipment room. But the lady staff in the locker room was so scary— yelling at me for not knowing the pool on Friday ended half an hour earlier (I smiled at that first yelling and said thank you to her) and yelling again 2 minutes later while I was naked, showering (which got me scared). The second yelling was about why I didn’t hear the announcement about the gym closing earlier. I have been going to this gym for five months but this was at most the second to my husband and I swam on Friday. And there was another member who was swimming until 9 pm. There was a male staff cleaning before then but he didn’t tell us that the pool closes at 8:30 pm Fridays. We didn’t hear any announcement at the pool. I was trying to be understanding at the first yelling but the second yelling while I was naked was too much — I was trying to explain to her that I really didn’t know and didn’t hear the announcement. But she was so mad :( I guess

Equinox Sports Club Washington, D.C. is simply not worth its premium price. The experience here falls far short of what one would reasonably expect from a so-called “luxury” or “wellness-oriented” club. The facilities feel dated, the overall atmosphere lacks refinement, and there is nothing distinctive enough to justify the cost - especially when compared with truly upscale wellness clubs emerging in major cities around the world. This location does not meaningfully align with the image Equinox promotes elsewhere. Rather than incremental updates, this club would require a complete rethink - or relocation into a modern space - to meet the expectations of its price point. That’s unfortunate, because Washington, D.C. would genuinely benefit from a more innovative, thoughtfully designed, and truly high-end wellness club.

The facility and the equipment are in excellent condition. The staff are extremely friendly, also. My personal trainer is Andrew Stoner and he is the best trainer I have worked with. He is friendly and a great communicator. After developing a game plan together, he corrected a bad hip flexor in a short amount of time and his regimen has given me newfound flexibility, strength, and improved posture. I can’t recommend Andrew highly enough.

Equinox Sports Club DC is the best gym in the area. The group classes are great, particularly the schedule and instructors. I’ve been working with Caroline, a fantastic trainer, and she’s already helped me meet and exceed my fitness goals. She helped me get stronger and improve my form. I love this gym and highly recommend for everyone!

I am changing my review since there is no cafe anymore. There is nothing anymore. First things first: 0$ initiation is a scam which leads you to sign a one year contract where you must pay for every month (you cannot freeze). If you freeze a month, you have to pay 100$ (you are not even visiting the gym). Needless to say, everything that is in the gym (for that price) still costs money. The trainers are a slop, they cost 150$, yet give you the most basic excercises. The machines on the first floor are always half broken, same as second floor. Something is always broken, and since there is barely any machines, they are almost always taken. Needless to say, they are VERY old. For a 250$ experience, this is absurd. 250 being a student price (funny, right?). Sauna temperature is made for grandparents. They removed their only cafe, which had fantastic people, was cheap, had great and tasty smoothies and sandwiches, salads, was truly one and only in Washington DC. You think yhey would utilize money from this cafe on something else? Of course not. Constant leaks and swimming pool closures are here to stay no matter what. They also never listen to their customer feedback, so yes. The faster you leave — the faster they close and stop scamming people.
