Been a member for a long time when it was Golds Gym. Was a very proud member! Once EOS bought the gym and new management took over they tanked, trashed and ruined the gym. They cut maintenance down from someone fixing machines daily!!! To one person one day of the week only. Sooooo yes, every machine is broken ALL the time! It’s infuriating to see how a prosperous gym has been ruined by EOS. We miss Golds Gym!

Absolutely the worst gym ever; especially in DTLA. Gym is always FILTHY!!!! Equipment is ALWAYS BROKEN!!! ALWAYS BROKEN!!!! Then it takes forever for them to service it. You can tell they do not do regular maintenance. Roof constantly leaks on squat rack platforms causing a major safety and liability issue. I was squatting in the back weight room and water kept dripping on my head and I had to keep drying my platform. Management here is terrible. I plan to cancel and go elsewhere. They are apart of the “LUX” tier of memberships and there is nothing lux about it. Women’s bathroom has dirty towels all over the floor from bins being filled and not turned frequent enough. Just terrible. It wasn’t any better when it was Golds.

The gym is in a good location, with plenty of shopping and food options nearby, which makes it convenient for quick errands before or after a workout. The staff, for the most part, is fairly attentive. However, there are a few individuals who give off the impression that they’d rather not be there. That kind of energy doesn’t go unnoticed, it affects the atmosphere and the image of the gym. The front desk team is the first impression people get when they walk in, so when staff are chatting among themselves instead of greeting or assisting members, it sends the wrong message. It’s something management and especially the owner should pay attention to, because that front-line interaction really represents Golds Gym as a whole. The gym itself is not very large — it’s a single-floor location, unlike the two-story one in La Mirada — but for its size, it’s well-equipped and laid out nicely. It does get crowded at times, but not to the point where it becomes unbearable. The locker room renovations were a nice touch, and the bathrooms are generally clean and maintained, which is always appreciated. One of the biggest positives for me is the number of squat racks. They have more than enough, and that’s a huge plus — especially compared to other locations like the Gold’s Gym in Arcadia, where there are only three free-weight squat racks. (To clarify, I’m referring to the traditional squat racks that aren’t part of a Smith machine — the kind where you’re lifting the barbell freely without guided rails.) There is one small issue worth mentioning: one of the racks on the far left side of the gym, near the treadmills, is missing its adjustable J-hooks, the attachments that let you change the bar height. It would be great if management could replace or reinstall those. Overall, this gym isn’t bad at all. It’s clean, functional, and has most of what you’d need for a solid workout. The main area for improvement is customer service. The staff could be more engaged and professional, as that really shapes the overall experience. If I were to give this gym a rating, I’d say it’s a solid 7 out of 10. Customer Service at the end of the day makes up 70-80% of a Business.

I’ve been going here a little over a month, I love this gym! It’s clean and there are a lot of machines as well as a punching bag to get all that angry out! I wish their hours were longer on the weekend but besides that they are open until midnight M-F so that’s fair. This is definitely a great gym to reach your fitness goals whenever you are at on your fitness journey.

So it's been a few months since my last post, and I haven't noticed any improvement. Here is a couple more pictures of the etiquette at this location. Arrived at 5am when they had just opened and found an empty red bull from the night before. Weights strewn all over the floor and a guy had his stuff in the way. Honestly wake up staff. Original Post: Management is in need of an extreme wake-up. 1. The staff is useless. They do a decent job of folding towels and greeting you from behind the counter. That is all. At any given time, there are 2-3 people standing around with no real purpose. My suggestion, get them to reorganize the weights at the end of the night. If they show they care, maybe the customers will too. At the very least, they will be earning their paycheck. 2. Cleanliness is lacking. I've been here about 6 times in the last couple of weeks, normally before 2 pm, and I've only seen the cleaning staff one time, same Hispanic lady. She was cleaning the windows one of the times. The sanitizing sprays usually barely have any in them, and I've shown up at 5 in the morning when they open. 3. It is very overcrowded. That's obviously a good thing. Use the staff to enforce some sort sort of order. I've seen a diverse number of clients with no gym etiquette whatsoever, who better to learn this from than the staff. I seriously doubt you will lose clientele to suffer a loss. Let me not only post all the bad but the few good. The towel availability is a great thing. 3 hour free parking is very good. That is about it. Recommend for the manager to take a trip to Santa Anita mall Golds Gym and see where to set the bar. Will update in a month or two in hopes that I see more pros or possibly a change in the way business is run.
