Camp Vamonos! - Austin Spring Break Camp, Summer Camp & After School Program

Both my kids have loved Camp Vamonos! It's an old-school camp in the best way - laid-back with lots of free play. Megan usually takes them on a field trip every day, hiking or to a creek to play. She's taken them to the dollar theater and to the UT campus to play ping-pong at the student union. Her backyard is every kid's dream, and my kids like that they have so much free rein to choose their activities, and that it's mixed ages together. SO many craft supplies and activities. Megan is an excellent communicator if there's any issues with the kids. We're in AISD dual language and have loved that she speaks Spanish with the kids too. I highly recommend Megan and this camp!

My kids love playing at Camp Vamanos and call it "freedom camp". Megan always has fun and creative activities for them to do and they love the different adventures they go on each day. Definitely a go to summer camp for us!

My daughter has been in both the after-school care and summer camp for the past two years at Camp Vamonos! She loves it! I love picking up a happy girl who has been playing outside in Megan's magical backyard, or returning from a field trip at a local park or hiking trail. Being at Camp Vamonos! has helped my daughter become more confident and sure of herself. Megan treats the kids with care and respect, and my daughter feels totally comfortable being with her. We tried a few other after-school care options before finding Camp Vamonos!, and none compare! This one is the best, hands down.

If your child loves adventure and being outdoors, Camp Vámonos is such a special place. It’s been an amazing after-school experience for our kids, largely because of Megan. She’s incredibly caring, patient, and adventurous, and she has a natural way of connecting with each child and supporting their self-discovery. I love how outdoor play and exploration are part of every day—it gives the kids room to grow, learn, and just be kids. Our children truly love going. There’s never any hesitation or complaints, just excitement about what’s next.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Camp Vamanos - this is our second year in Megan’s after-school program, and have also signed him up for school closures and summer camp. My son has gained so much confidence, independence, and creativity through all the free play and imaginative activities she offers. I love that she takes the kids on fun outings around the city and teaches them how to navigate public transportation safely. It’s clear she genuinely cares about giving kids real-world experiences, and my son looks forward to going every day. Highly recommend!
