There’s a barber here named David Spoon. Best barber I’ve ever been to. I lived in Denver for 5 years before moving to Austin, and during my time there I never used the same barber more than twice, because I was pretty picky. After moving to Austin I went to spoon, and I have been going back ever since. I used to have hair down to my shoulders and he was able to clean it up. Then when I went shorter, his cuts were fantastic as well. So he can cut long hair just as good as short hair. He pays attention to the details and works with you to get it the way you want. Also a great conversationalist that also knows how to be quiet when you don’t feel like talking. Can’t recommend him enough.

Alexis is an incredible stylist. She nails it with her perfect attention to detail and personalized care. She's super warm, personable, and makes every visit feel like a barber should. 10/10.

This is one of the coolest barbershops I’ve been to over the years. Stuck in between a record shop and a vintage clothing store along with a coffee shop at the end unit the “808” fits right in. Alexis, the owner and Alexis a.k.a. Gabby are the two people I know the best. I have been getting my haircut by Gabby for a little over a year now and every time, not only does she do a great job, but we talk about family, life and have some great laughs. . . cold beer, and whiskey doesn’t hurt either. I would suggest you go in and find the right fit for you, but I would start with Gabby and I think you’ll find your new barber with her sharp skills and outstanding personality. Can you guess why it’s named “808?”

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. In keeping with the strong community feeling of North Loop, 808 feels like a family every time you come in. Folks remember you, are quick with a smile, and whole-shop conversations aren’t uncommon, with laughter and good times. Everyone is welcome here. Everyone. That’s to say nothing of the cuts! I’ve worked with multiple stylists, both when I had long hair, and with my short hair, and I always leave feeling like I look myself and my best. Truly, miracle workers who can interpret what you want and make it look like magic on you! Alexis (Gabby) is the bee’s knees and you need to go see her right now!
