Balance Gym Capitol Hill

My friend and I booked a 6:30 a.m. cycling class several days in advance, and at no point was there any indication that the facility would be closed via ClassPass app. If the gym made the decision to close due to the holiday, that is understandable. However, in this case, the ClassPass portal should have been disabled for that specific date and time. Additionally, there should have been signage posted on the door to inform guests of the closure. Given that no one arrived for the class, it appears the closure had been communicated to members in advance, which further suggests that this was a known matter. I am not faulting the facility for being closed; rather, I am holding them accountable for the mismanagement of the ClassPass booking system. This represents a significant lapse in customer service. As a result of this experience, I am not interested in attempting another reservation at this gym.

Great gym with plenty of room and smartly organized areas. Lots of bits and bobs for serious lifters, too (incline heels, assisted bars, bent bars, rubber plates, Olympic plates, various ruck Sims, and a ton more. Plus, some classes are included!). Jacob, Moses and Josh are highlights of the gym, all in their own way. Jacob is the manager and quite helpful and knowledgeable. He was part of our tour briefly though the other front desk person, Karina, was great, always informative and conversational. Moses also had the same great qualities about him as well. I highly recommend this gym because it seems to always be clean, everyone is quite personable, and they don't seem to be any people that are overly emphatic about their lifting routines.

Great no-frills gym with supportive staff, right in the heart of Capitol Hill. Clean and well maintained. Has everything you need for most workouts. Plenty of equipment, free weights, and machines. Classes available, although I haven't partaken. Highly recommend Eric for personal training - he's great to work with as a gym newbie jumping into fitness and weight loss. I wanted more of a workout partner than a drill sergeant - Eric put my mind at ease with multiple options, and crafts the perfect workouts designed to hit my goals every week. Results after a few months have been noticeable, and still going!

This gym has been my home for training and getting a workout in for years. The facilities are top notch especially the large studio spaces but what stood out after touring other gyms in the area are the staff!!! Owen, Moses, Noel, Josh and Josh— they are so friendly it makes such a welcoming space to come.🫶

Had no issues the first few months and the price was right, but one day I went to the locker room after finishing my workout to find the door of the locker I was using was ripped off its hinges and my wallet had been stolen. The thief proceeded to make fraudulent charges on all of my cards. Despite there being cameras in the facility, the staff was not able to provide any assistance, and apparently the front desk had been unoccupied for some of the hour or so I was at the gym. I continued working out at the gym for several weeks after the theft because of the price and the proximity to my house, but in those weeks the locker had not been fixed and I noticed more and more machines were out of service. I decided to cancel my membership one day after finding the locker room and bathrooms unacceptably dirty. You may get what you pay for (no more, and potentially far less) but I have to recommend any other options.
