Had a membership years ago, and then they decided to reduce their hours about 2 months AFTER I had just purchased my membership. Thankfully Costco gave me a refund. But on principle, in what sensible world can you call yourself 24 HOUR FITNESS, and then close as early as EIGHT some nights and not open until SIX some mornings? Like, what? You had staff. This is a major city. People work unusual hours. Some people PREFER to work out without crowds or competition slowing them down for machines and equipment. When I asked why the hell they reduced their hours, they made some incomprehensible excuse about staffing and having to pay to keep the lights on. The lights are on even when it’s closed, and it’s not like everyone working out needs a hall monitor or someone to hold their hand. All you need is one employee to check IDs upon entry and maybe a security guard for the lot. Janitors are there whether you’re open or not. Other (less busy) locations (same exact company) in this city are still open 24/7, so what the hell is the issue? Change your name or live up to it — simple as. This is not a complex problem. You have a gym that advertises itself IN THE TITLE as ‘round the clock. People want to work out at any hour. Where’s the insurmountable impasse? Seriously.

I’ve been coming to this gym for over 10 years. There always only one time when they added new hand weights to the group fitness room and they were only in the lower weight ranges. The class I attend is full of strong people who have to scavenge through the entire gym to find the weights heavy enough to enhance muscle growth. Truly, sometimes there are only about 4 sets of 10 lb hand weights (which is entirely insufficient). There are only about 3 sets of 12lb weights and no sets of 15 lb weights available to these classes. My understanding is that none of the other area gyms have this problem. Their general mangers seem to value having an appropriate number and heaviness of their free weights/hand weights. Additionally, the majority of the class members are women so I also find this lack of action to address this problem as somewhat sexist. They have given us an abundance of 5 lb weights, but, um, that’s frankly a little insulting that the managers don’t seem to understand (or care) that we are now paying increased monthly dues to just not have the equipment needed to have a good workout. If I didn’t enjoy this group of folks so much, I’d walk away from this gym no problem. Their lack of attention (and yes, the cleanliness continues to be a problem…it’s disgusting). Is it really that hard to buy some hand weights and sufficiently stock these classes?!

There is always some cleaning staff member around, and yet all the machines are always so dirty, half the paper towel dispensers are empty, and 1/4 of the machines are broken at any given time. All that money for the membership, but I almost always have to skip a particular workout because a machine has been broken for several weeks. Also, they make the contract nearly impossible to get out of, even if you contact them while the charge is still pending. They claimed they sent me notice of an upcoming charge a month prior, and when I told them I never got it, they said “Well, it says we sent it. Even if it went to spam, that’s not our problem.” If you have ANY other gym membership option, take it. Will definitely make sure none of my friends end up in this situation.

The gym is unbelievably convenient to my home, which is why I have the membership. I'm not going to post anything lengthy about cleanliness, as everyone else's comments were sufficient and accurate. It would be great if they could do better, but I'm not optimistic. The equipment is good, as I don't have a ton of prior experience with weight machines, but it seems a good mix for what I need. They also have a ton of cardio equipment which is great. Classes are a good mix, and the instructors are fun. I've done several, for months, and they were a good experience. That being said, the equipment is often broken. Repairs are not fast. In addition to this, it's getting extremely old to see so many members that just camp on equipment (like the one shoulder press machine they have), and doom scroll for 30+ minutes (I wish I was exaggerating, I'm not). While this could be remedied by staff being active in the gym areas and keeping an eye on things, I've never seen anyone out and about aside from the person that stocks the paper towels, and the guy who occasionally repairs equipment. They're both quick and efficient, and nice! That being said- no one else ever leaves the first floor... And there's no way I'm going to walk down to your office to tell a 14 year old to get off his phone... It's ridiculous. What else.... Gym etiquette sucks? No one wipes down equipment? You can't blame them for that. Humans are gross. Just make sure to sanitize your equipment before and after and also your hands...! I think a bit more effort from staff would go a long way... But it sounds like this is another "post COVID" problem that will likely remain until someone buys them. Don't love the excuse, but everyone seems to give it these days.... I'd say do-better... But, you won't. That being said, I'll still workout there 3+ times a week, and I'll be kind to your staff. Everyone is nice, just seems lazy.

I’ve tried this gym again occasionally over the years, and it never stops being poorly maintained & FILTHY. Some of the equipment is so badly in need of repair as to be unsafe or unusable. The floor in the big room where classes are held is not swept between classes, so you get mud from everyone’s shoes, hair, you name it on yourself/your stuff. In the sauna, despite the sign with tiny print, people wear their dirty shoes and don’t sit on towels – so someone leaves a puddle of their own sweat & dirt for you to sit in next. There is also a weird odor. Even when I think I’ll just try it again because it’s cheap or convenient, this gym is never worth it. Management will comment on this post and pretend to care, and nothing will change.
