- Dutch pancakes & Belgian waffles (all GF)

- Flying business class with my kids klm new AMS to SAN - and getting several compliments about the kid’s excellent behavior
Filled with gratitude I’m able to give these moments to my kids. My husband and I were both brought up in families who really struggled financially. If not for my grandparents, I would not have traveled much at all. More on that too!
Reflecting helps me focus on my goals, re-invigorates me to work harder & get my kid’s buy-in for future trips (along with hopefully my husband’s too!! Come on npitz14 - we believe in you!!)

Boating through the bluest water with my teen & tween crew to Comino felt like something out of a dream. 🛥️☀️ From sea caves to swimming in the most stunning turquoise water, Malta seriously knows how to summer
Our captain Justin was wonderful. He shared a lot of the history of Malta, Comino & Gozo with us, anchored in all of the best spots & made the day truly memorable. Highly recommend outdoor_explorers_malta for boat rentals in Malta (very affordable!)

![All good things come to an end - and today is the sadly last full day of our European summer adventure
At lunch over pancakes today in Amsterdam we reflected on our vacation highlights & lowlights. We all agreed Lake Como was overall a bit of a lowlight, in an Instagram versus reality kind of way
I’m not one to dwell on the negative, and usually I only share positives & favorites. After all, Instagram IS a highlight reel, right?
Bellagio, Lake Como was really beautiful, and we loved relaxing in the spa at our hotel. But the towns get so overwhelmed with people everyday, and in comparison to Lugano, it was truly mid
We’ve had such an incredible trip this year & made so many fun memories with so many highlights (all of Iceland, waterfalls & geysers at midnight all to ourselves), Geirenger, Norway, beautiful Malta, our amazing day with Justin outdoor_explorers_malta and a fun final stop in Amsterdam capped by a boat tour with pureboatsamsterdam plus LOTs of yummy pancakes
One of the best parts is seeing Grayson & Harper form closer bonds & have so much fun playing together
I’m so grateful to have these experiences with my kids. And hopefully next year we can get npitz14 to come to Europe with us!

![Lugano, Switzerland🇨🇭is a hidden gem. It’s what I imagined the Lake Como area to be with less crowds
It’s located only an hour north of Milan in the Italian-speaking Ticino region of Southern Switzerland. The incredible Italian food, views & laid-back vibes make Lugano the perfect place to relax.
Sadly we only had one full day to spend there, but we will be back. After Lugano we drove to Lake Como and it was PACKED (even mid-week!)
We stayed at the stunning splendideroyal & the service was so exceptional, we felt royal 😆
Switzerland is top of our bucket list for summer 2026 along with renting a peddle boat with a slide on Lake Lugano (Harper was so sad we didn’t have time to rent one!). Have you ever been to Switzerland?]()

![Geiranger, Norway felt like stepping into a fantasy world—except my kids were there, so I know it was real 😂✨
This is Flydalsjuvet, a breathtaking lookout about a 10 min drive from Geiranger.
💫 To find this magical spot away from the crowds, there’s a short, hidden trail behind the restrooms. The path is an easy 2 min long short, rocky trail
✔️ If you’re facing away from the road walk in between the 1st & 2nd restroom on the left, step off the deck and turn left, hiking down the rocks until you come to the clearing. This is where one person stays to take the photo
✔️ The other person hikes 1 min to the right up more rocks to find this viewpoint. Be cautious - I’ve heard the viewpoint can be very slippery at times, but we had a gorgeous, sunny summer day
We rented an electric Porsche Taycan from grandefjordhotel which was a blast and had the best day exploring Geiranger

![Summer in Iceland 🇮🇸 Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is such a magical, special place. And look at that, we even got a warm, sunny summer day!
Our annual fun mom + kids summer trip started about a week ago. We’ve been exploring West and South Iceland, chasing all the waterfalls & enjoying the long days during Midnight Sun
I’ve been in such a funny place this past 1.5 years. As a creator, my job is to show up here on social media, share and engage with you. But as a mid-40s woman with a teen son who is (gasp!) almost 14 and a tween, I also want to be hyper present and enjoying all of these moments
I’ve watched many of my friend’s kids leave for college, and I know that day is coming WAY too soon for me. I just want to hold on and cherish these moments and times with my kids while they’re still living with me and kids
Just 3 months ago I share that Gray was almost as tall as me, and now he’s over an inch taller. I always thought as my kids grew I would have MORE time, since the heavy lifting was over. But I now know, that’s not at all true. Time just keeps seeming to speed up
So for now, I’ve decided to hold back some pieces and moments, just for me and my family
I think I need to find my own balance, and let go of the perfectionist tendency to overly stress about making pictures & videos perfect, because I’m certainly not 😆
So that’s my summer challenge. Are you working on anything within yourself this summer? Remember as humans, it’s okay to stop and decide, hey, I want to do things differently

Yesterday, my youngest graduated from 5th grade. And while I beamed with pride, I also quietly cried into my sunglasses (thank goodness I remembered the tissues 😭)
Today was their final walk out past all of the classes lined up, saying goodbye to their school, their teachers, their playgrounds, their memories
These milestone days are beautiful, but they tug at your heart in places you didn’t know existed until you became a mom
If you’re here too, waving at the end of the elementary school chapter… I see you. It’s okay to celebrate and sob. To be filled with joy and also ache a little. That’s the magic of motherhood, you feel everything all at once
