![Story behind these photos :
When I headed out to Wyoming, I needed a telephoto lens to capture wildlife.
I don’t own one for my full-frame camera, but I did have one for a cropped sensor (APS-C).
When I swapped lenses for my first snap with the telephoto, I forgot to switch on the APS-C crop mode, and the result was a black frame around my photo.
I actually liked the look of it - it gave the image a vintage, nostalgic feel - I just went with it, and kept shooting some photos that way throughout the trip to make this series.

![5 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO TO YELLOWSTONE :
1️⃣ If you’re planning on hiking, you’re gonna need bear spray with you. It’s your last resort to protect yourself in case a bear charges. 🐻 Buy it beforehand online rather than inside the park to save money! 💸
Same goes with sunscreen, snacks, and so on. Prices are higher inside the park, so anything you’re planning on consuming, buy it before hand to save money!
2️⃣ You’re not going to have cell service in the park. Download offline maps on Google Maps to know where to drive or on AllTrails for your hikes! 📡
3️⃣ Expect your driving times to be longer than planned. Getting form A to B there will tons of pull offs to explore along the way like waterfalls, gysers, lookouts etc. Plus you’ll probably spot wildlife on the side of the road. So you’ll most likely be stopping - it will make your 20 miles drive last 2 hours 😂
4️⃣ Bring lots of water. There aren’t many places to get water around the park except near resorts or visitor centers. Buys gallons, stay hydrated 🌱
5️⃣ If you’re not sure how to get around yet and are ready for a real adventure, I strongly advise to rent a van or camper! They’re not cheap, but hotels inside the park aren’t either. Combining accommodation + rental car, you’ll be saving if you rent a van with which you can do both! Plus, having the freedom to go without booking hotels and improvise as you go is priceless!
