Back out in Worcester & I wanted to try out this Puerto Rican food truck I came across on IG. It’s called los3reyesmagos_sandwiches and it’s right outside of Hurricane Betty’s. I’m starting to really enjoy spending time in Worcester. I get a lot of love out there so I love to give it back. Los 3 Reyes sells PR street food from Juana Diaz. Gil grew up there and learned the restaurant business from his father & grandfather. He’s the first to open his own restaurant in the states. I got the mofongo cup with the pork & chicken skewers. A Tripleta. I love Tripleta and I can thank PapiVivi for that. And some loaded fries. The mofongo cup is what I would order every-time from there! The meats were cooked perfectly. Tender, juicy, a bit crispy & jam packed with flavor. The tripleta was also great though. Los 3 Reyes is worth stopping for when you’re riding through Worcester or if you plan to go throw some dollars in the strip club. Thank you to Gil! As I was riding through Buffalo, I figured I’d stop for a quick bite. I parked on Elmwood Ave and began walking around. I asked a few locals who were either working at a store or walking around where I should grab lunch. I should start filming these parts of my road trips, it would make it more fun. But anyway, I got a few recommendations. lloydtacofactory got the most though. So I decided to give it a chance. The place is a vibe. More hipsterish than authentic Mexican, though they never claim to be. They started as a food truck and got so popular they opened a couple store fronts. This place has 2 full bars, plenty of seating, arcade games & a patio. It’s quite the hangout. The food wasn’t bad either. I’d say it’s average to slightly above average. I’m not sure how Buffalo is with Mexican/latin food. I live in a city where there’s good Latin food on every street. I need to start coming to Buffalo more. Red’s Eats is one of, if not the most popular lobster rolls in New England. Tourists line up at this little seafood shack and wait (sometimes) hours for a roll. And that’s all who waits in this line. The locals are not fans. You won’t catch them here unless they’re riding by, flipping them the bird. But to be fair, I feel it’s the same everywhere you go. The locals hate the tourist traps. I’m always one for controversy so when I stood in line, I saw a few locals drive by screaming profanities and flipping us off & I absolutely loved it. A little bit of Boston attitude in a small town in Maine. I’m also a big, big lobster roll fan. I don’t buy into any hype, I usually listen to the locals but I had to try this place for myself. Everyone has their own opinion. The roll seems to be anywhere from 6-8ounces at $36, not a bad price in today’s world. The roll was served cold but with no mayo..? Maine style is legit cold with mayo but idk, I guess they do it differently. They served me cold with a cup of butter instead, which I didn’t use. I felt the lobster was good. I didn’t hate it. A good mix of tail, claw & knuckle. The locals say it’s not fresh but I can’t see a place like this using frozen meat. It tasted fine to me. But overall I have had better rolls. This is a good roll but I don’t know where the hype stems from. Why would people wait 2-3 hours when you can get a similar roll across the street with better seating & alcoholic options… idk, just a tourist thing I suppose. Finally took bigdewfrank to Rhode Island with me. We stopped for a light lunch at thegatheringtableri. Shoutout to my buddy Joe from jaydbun for the suggestion. The Gathering Table is such a beautiful shop. It’s owned & operated by married couple, Kevin & Katrina, and they offer cheeses from all over. As well as other things like wines, coffee, crackers, dips, etc. They focus on having a more natural, healthy, locally sourced shop. Kevin himself is lactose intolerant. He found out after he’s opened a cheese shop. Through dealing with that, he’s discovered which cheeses he can & can’t indulge in. And he shares that wisdom with his customers who deal with the same problem. I got a Buddha Bowl & Big Frank got a savory crepe with ham, arugula & Gruyère cheese. That bowl was absolutely delicious! A great post workout/yoga meal, or just a great lunch in general if you want to eat light. Kevin also brought out a cheese board so we can sample some of his favorites. The one that I loved most was the Tomette Brûlée, a sheep’s milk cheese from France. They fire the cheese so the rind becomes caramelized and gives off a little smokey sweet finish. Linked up with my buddy c_money_617 for a lunch in Downtown Boston. I picked the place last time, today he picked the spot. He brought me to chacarerobos. A Chilean spot serving traditional sandwiches, empanadas & plates. He’s been coming here for over 15 years but this is my first time here. We got an empanada, some sweet potato fries & a sandwich. The sandwich is stacked on house-made bread, tons of veggies & beef and chicken. It was quite a sandwich. They gave me some yellow hot sauce too, a house sauce.. boy was that spicy! Not too spicy for me of course. This place been in business for a long time and it’s not hard to see why. Come give it a shot if you never been! Which Pizza Are You Trying First?! (Vote Below) Last week I did a head to head with 2 of the best lobster rolls I had this summer. I figured, why not do it again? This week it’s pizza. But these aren’t your average pizzas. Square Deli (Everett) & Pizza Project (Brighton) were some of the best pizzas I had in the last year. Honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Both of them rank in the mid 9’s to me. I wouldn’t even be mad if someone said it’s a 10. It’s hard to find better than these 2 spots. When someone asks me the best pizza in MA, these 2 places come to mind first. Regina’s vs Santarpio’s is old news. Square Deli vs Pizza Project should be what people are debating. Still yet to have a bad meal up this way. I stopped at donwoorivt while I was in Vermont for a Korean lunch. I decided to come here randomly. No recommendations, no reading reviews. I just came in cause it appealed to me. Korean Fried Chicken is my favorite chicken. It’s like the Michael Jackson of fried chickens. And Donwoori succeeds at it. They also have a great story. The owner, Summer, only 26 years old opened this business about 2 years ago. She Vietnamese but has a lot of experience in Korean kitchens and felt this area was missing a Korean spot. She worked her ass off and it payed off. She also has her little brother, Khoi, to help her manage the business. The wings were to die for. Especially that maple gochujang. You get the heat from the gochu with the sweetness from the Vermont maple. Super crispy like real KFC should be. Man I loved it. I also got the dumplings & the bibimbap. Next time I’m up this way, I’ll have to come during dinner hours to try more. Hopefully I’ll get to meet the family next time. After some woman kept commenting on my TikTok’s telling me to try buxtonspizza in Derry, I finally did it. Just for her! I was taking a ride up to VT and thought about Buxton’s as I was riding through NH. I figured it was a great opportunity to try it, also a great way to wait out the rain as it was pouring out. Buxton’s is a little hidden gem in Derry. They started as a food truck. Doing pop ups and events since 2020 until February 2024 when they opened right here. I’d assume that’s when they expanded their menu. I think they were just doing pizzas in the truck…? Tf do I know. Buxton’s has become a hot commodity in the Derry community & surrounding areas. Just like my snarky comment at the end of the video, there’s not much going on in NH food wise. Which is why Buxton’s is definitely a standout establishment. Even the nice couple I sat next to at the bar said they go to Buxton’s often because there’s not many great options up that way. The people of Derry know what they have with Buxton’s and they cherish it. Great menu, great food, very good pizza too. Go try it for yourself, let me know what you think. Stopped at melodiasrestaurant in Eastie as many of my followers have been telling me to try them out. Some say it’s their favorite Colombian food in the neighborhood. I haven’t done too much Colombian food but I do love it whenever I go. It’s nice to change things up and check out a new restaurant. I’m not sure how long Melodia’s been here but it seems like they’ve established some roots in Orient Heights. Not much English being spoke in here but if you can’t speak the language, you shouldn’t let that discourage you from coming in. You’ll be fine. The menu is in Spanish but the description is in English. We got a few appetizers and all of them were on point. Though, the straight up ketchup with the empanada threw me off a bit. I’ve never seen that. Usually it’s the pink sauce. Nick P got the championes. I told him to get that. It was good but I like it from Peñol more. I got the carne de res encebollada. Well seasoned steak with onions. I very much enjoyed my dish. Melodias offers a big menu, full bar and great service even with the language barrier. I’d definitely recommend checking them out. I stopped over at capriseafood in Providence to try their seafood boil. Some are saying they have the BEST seafood boil. I got way more than I bargained for when I walked in here though. The owner knew me from my Simply Khmer video in Lowell. He’s Khmer himself. So he wanted to send out a “few” things. The guy sent out the whole menu! I appreciated it even if I didn’t have any of the drinks 😂 the food didn’t go to waste either. All the appetizers he sent out were very good. Especially the ribs & the calamari. The seafood boil is obviously the star of the show here though. I’m not a huge seafood boil guy. I love it but I don’t tend to go out for it that often. But this seafood boil might be the best, I’m not sure. Like I said, I haven’t had enough. It was the best I’ve had so far. Capri is definitely worth the ride out to Providence if you’re looking for a top of the line seafood boil. The whole place is a vibe and like I always say… I love Rhode Island. waybackburgers has been around since 1991 when they first opened in Delaware. They went by Jake’s Hamburgers until 2010 when they switched the name to Wayback. I remember there used to be one in the Square One Mall in Saugus but I never got the chance to try it. Today, I had that chance! I stopped to pick up a fresh pair of forces while I was in Worcester. And there happened to be a Wayback right there! I was hungry (I always am) and I was suddenly in the mood for a burger so I stopped in. I planned on just doing a burger & a shake until I saw the Cheeesy! The Cheeesy is 2 patties with 4 slices of cheese between an inverted bun. The bun was golden brown and crispy. I loved that burger! And if you don’t want a burger, they got other items on the menu like chicken or a steak sub. Maybe you’ve had Wayback burger, maybe you haven’t. But this is your calling to stop by. Great burgers. They source their own beef. For my last meal in Canada, I drove back to St. Catharines. I had great experiences in this city, might as well have one more. We went to nolaasbakehouse on Niagara St. Nolaa’s is a bakery & cafe serving breakfast, lunch & pastries and it’s all gluten, dairy & sugar free. It’s all part of the keto diet. Melissa dedicated her shop to the ketogenic diet due to her son’s medical conditions. She’s helped her son as well as others maintain a balanced & healthier lifestyle. And she has 3 dogs who hang in the side yard & greet all the customers. Winnie, Walter & Teddy. They were such good boys!! I went with the turkey melt, Felicia got a breakfast option, the blueberry bake French toast. Man oh man was this place delicious. And it was such a vibe eating in there. It’s a legit house. We both loved it here. The menu was great, the food was great, the people & the pups were even greater. And after we had our meals, Melissa brought us out a couple of her cannoli cups. Almond based cake bottoms filled with Swiss buttercream. Talk about “to die for”. I couldn’t believe it was a healthy snack. You gotta try Nolaa’s if you visit Niagara Falls like we did. I had a great time visiting Canada for the first time. I know that sounds weird to say, considering Canada is a country and I was in a small part of it but I got an idea of the food. I learned about the dietary restrictions that we don’t have in America. The food is cleaner, healthier. I think I’ll be visiting Toronto, maybe Montreal soon. It was a fun trip. Anytime I visit another country, I gotta check out their McDonald’s. Granted I haven’t traveled much out of the country since starting this food blog, it’s something I look forward to. Eventually I’ll travel to a bunch of different countries. The only McDonald’s outside America I’ve had was Aruba & now Canada. The Aruba McDonald’s might have been worse than America. Only thing different on their menu was chicken wings. Canada had a way cooler menu. I loved it. Not only is the menu better at Canadian McDonalds, but the ingredients are better. They use way less additives & preservatives in Canada. A bunch of the stuff we use & eat in the US are banned here in Canada. It’s almost as if… they care about their citizens & their health!🥲 Even with the terrible stuff in our food, it’s still good from time to time. I can’t lie. But don’t overeat it. bigdewfrank & I had the honor of touring the biancosausage factory! Our friend Joe Bianco took us around the factory to show us how everything is done. From stuffing the sausages, tenderizing the breasts & steak, marinating the meats, packaging & shipping. Big Frank & I learned enough in here that we could start our own meat company! But the chances of us doing a better job than Bianco’s is slim to none. They’re one of the best in the business. The company started in my hometown of Revere, MA by Joe’s grandfather. Joe Bianco. His original sausage stuffer is on display by the front door. I grew up eating Bianco’s as did Big Frank. Being able to tour the factory & learn more about the business, and also meeting the people who work their ass off every day to make it all happen, was an amazing experience. I’m sorry for the video being so long but there was just so much to show & learn about. I hope you all enjoy. Stop at any of your local grocery stores and pick up some Bianco’s!! After my wish came true & Big Frank appeared at the falls, we went right to lunch. We were about to go to Rainforest Cafe. It’s a throwback. I haven’t been since I was a kid. But then I saw the prices. Forget about it. Just cause we are tourists, doesn’t mean we have to eat like them. We went to one of the only independent joints around Clifton Hill. And that place is yanksniagara. They’re an old dive bar that’s been there since I don’t know when. Known for wings, pizza & cold beer. No Mountain Dew for Frank but I had myself a cold Canadian brew. We ordered a couple wings. Sweet Chili, Honey Garlic & Buffalo. We also got a cheese pizza & poutine. The service was great. The wait on the food was ehh, quite a while. But the wings were very good so that made up for the wait. The pizza, below average. The poutine was good. I wish they used a different style fry. I feel like shoe string fries aren’t the best choice but still good. Overall, this place seems like it’s the place to eat at when you’re on the touristy Clifton Hill. Felicia signed us up for the White Water Rapids. We had a couple hours to kill before we started so I found this cool little coffee shop called junctioncoffeebar in St David’s for us to go hang for a bit. (Contact them at yourcommonground ) Driving through Niagara on the Lake was an experience in itself. What a beautiful town. This coffee shop is just a testament to how nice the town really is. Everything made in house. Loved by the locals so much that they had reserved tables. They have breakfast & lunch options, craft coffees & lattes, gelatos, pastries and the staff was so nice & attentive. Felicia got the toffee crunch latte while I had the banana chocolate latte. I love banana chocolate. That banana fudge bomb pop was my favorite ice cream growing up (next to the wwf ice cream). I loved that coffee but I loved the pastry even more! That pistachio/chocolate square had me in a chokehold. Wow was that good. I have to try to find a shop around Boston that can make one like that. If any of my New England followers decide to take a trip to the falls, I strongly suggest driving through Niagara on the Lake. Do the white water rapids, and stop at this coffee shop. Maybe even spend the day there and find a dinner spot for yourself. I have a feeling they’d have some really good restaurants here. I’ll be back in this area at some point in this lifetime. We went to the Flying Saucer for breakfast. It’s a tourist trap. I don’t usually do the tourist trap stuff but screw it, you gotta do it once in a while. I love the theme too so why not. Back to back space themed restaurants. The Flying Saucer been here since 72. It used to be a late night place too. People could gamble all day at the casino then get some drunk pancakes (the best way to eat them) at 2am. I’m not sure when they stopped the late night thing. It’s open til 10pm now. I got the ET Special. Which is pretty much a hungry man. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, home fries, sausage & toast. Quite average. But what I expected it to me. I did expect the menu to be more themed but it was a let down. The place itself is pretty cool. I love theme restaurants. It’s a thing of the past. Everything now a days is so bland and basic and boring and has no personality. Just look at McDonald’s now compared to what it used to be. Too corporate. I hate it. Found thegalaxyburgers on IG while I was driving up to Niagara and I knew I had to go by. Their burgers looked incredible!! They were located in Hamilton which is about an hour from the falls but I don’t mind a drive (clearly). So I messaged them to make sure they’d be open when I got there. I met the owner, Kem, and his team. Great people. Kem has a passion for this stuff. You can tell he really loves what he does. Not only can you see it, but you can taste it. These smash burgers hit the mf spot!! Wow. Honestly a burger is probably my favorite thing to eat next to a beef 3 way. I love a good burger. And I think I like the smash burgers more than any other style. Kind of a mood thing though. A-lot of places don’t actually smash the patty til it’s flat & has those crispy edges. It’s a west coast thing. But Kem is doing it the correct way. He makes his own sauces & his own pickles. This dude got it going on. And he sticks to what he knows. Burgers, fries, and an ice cream. Nothing more. He’s just getting started, his 1st year anniversary just passed but he’s got many more to come. Congratulations on all your success Kem. Note to self, when ever I’m back in Ontario, spend more time in St. Catharines! This town seems to have a lot of great restaurants. There was alot more I wanted to try. I got a lot of recommendations from the locals. Unfortunately I didn’t have much time out there. dispizzapies was a place that wasn’t recommended, I didn’t even look at the reviews. I saw the storefront & was drawn to it like a fly to a light. I have a thing for these old looking store fronts, old time diners, anything from the old days. I’m an old soul. I learned a little history about the place thanks to Wyatt, the man who made my pizza. They’re more known for the soda & a slice. Homemade sodas & an American Street Slab. But I got a full pizza, a round 16 inch pie. I’d assume you can ask for the street slab style when ordering a whole pie. I’m happy with the round pie though. I got half tomato, half vodka. What a pizza it was. It was honestly just so different than any pizza I’ve had. The taste, the texture. It was light, crispy, airy. One of those pizzas you can just eat to the face & still not feel like a fat greasy slob. We skipped breakfast & spent all morning taking in the beauty of the Falls & doing some excursions. I had pretty fun doing that. Lunch time came around & we went over to blindpigniagara. It wasn’t much of a random spot. I read some reviews online. People seemed to love it. Niagara Falls doesn’t seem to be the best food town but they supposedly got some solid joints. I wasn’t expecting it to be amazing. I just wanted a good lunch. I got what I wanted too. I wasn’t wowed by this place but I enjoyed eating here. We got here during happy hour. Our apps were only $10 each. Felicia loved her salad. I dogged my brisket sandwich. Kinda wish I got a cold beer on tap but I stuck with the water like I normally do. We made it to Niagara. But the dinner scene out there is kind of ehhhh. I drove us 20 minutes away to St. Catharines so we can grab a good meal. And what a meal it was, holy cow! fatrabbit has just become one of my all time favorite restaurants. This place is next level. It’s Michelin recommended but it should have a star or 2. I think I’ll have to send them a WDYETS APPROVED sticker. Hopefully they’d stick it in the window with pride but even if they threw it in the trash can, I’m still gonna hype them up. Why? Because they fucking deserve it! That’s why. There was not 1 dish to hit that table that didn’t blow my mind. From the raw scallop, to the charcuterie to the mixed grill & dessert. Everything was top notch. Fat Rabbit is a butcher shop. But not a typical butcher shop, they’re a whole animal butchery. They utilize the whole animal. And the meats are available for sale by the pound. I wish I got to meet the owner but I did talk to some of the cooks on his line and I let them know what a great job they’re doing.
