My first name brand pieces were these super cute ARMANI jeans when I was 7. We had a massive shopping culture with my mom and the little fashion shows we would do after are the seeds for my path to fashion! Being who you are is your superpower. I think my favourite part about being more vocal about my journey to becoming a fashion designer is I’ll have references to go back to whenever I hit the milestones that I’m chasing. I’ve occasionally received a message from an old high school friend reminding me about how passionate and authentic and determined I was and still am. And it may seem really pointless to some now, (for me to be yapping and sharing this journey) but on the other side of achieving these dreams and walking my path semi-publicly is an opportunity for another younger girl dreaming of her own radical dream to see herself reflected. Gotta loosen up and relax before the shoot. So I’m not stiff and awkward and I can ease into role and story I’m a part of. I actually find modelling really difficult and challenging which is why I don’t do it very often and I’m really selective about the projects I’m a part of. Usually find myself gravitating toward all women collaborative teams. Usually such environments are much more comfortable for me.
