When we bought this house 3 years ago, we were both new business owners which makes getting a mortgage incredibly trickly. With less than a week til closing, they bumped up our downpayment to a whopping 25% and we scrambled to come up with the cash, wondering if we were doing the right thing. Thankfully the house was well taken care of and move in ready, but let’s just say several rooms and the exterior were not our vibe! I did mini face lifts to the laundry room and bathroom myself, but the exterior, ooooff, that was beyond my youtube-studying Facebook-group-lurking DIY capabilities!! It’s hard finding the right professionals for the job, but I’m really happy with who I chose and what they were able to accomplish without just tearing it all down and starting from scratch (cuz lets face it, we couldn’t justify the cost of that!!) If you’re looking for some great companies in Northern / Mid NJ, here’s who we used, tell them I sent you!! 🧱 Staining the brick: fauxbrickchick - they use permatint, a mineral tint/stain that penetrates and allows the brick or stone to still breathe, and it has a 30 year warrantee!) we did solid black but they also do hand painting multiple colors if looking for more variation Roof + gutters: northkitroofing (we went with black for both! First black gutters on our street!) If you want to escape it all, without having to rough it or have the kids complain about being bored, sunoutdoors has got you!! We were recently hosted for a weekend at Sun Retreats Lancaster County and had the most amazing time. If you want to pitch a tent or park your RV, go for it! As for us, we found all the comforts we needed in one of their lovely cabins featuring AC, REAL beds, full kitchen, TVs, private toilet/shower, and a huge yard with fire pit, picnic table, and a rental golf cart to whiz around the property in! Speaking of the property - they had SO much going on, you could do as much or as little as you wanted. We popped over to the front office multiple times to borrow a wiffle ball set, volleyball, mini golf putters, etc. Of course we also enjoyed their indoor/outdoor pool, rented 2 peddle boats to race around their 6 acre lake, and even enjoyed a movie night with popcorn!! Tips from our summer visit to Tokyo Disneyland: 1. You need WiFi to use app, so get an e-sim or international plan (there was no free WiFi at the park, I was shocked!!) 2. Reserve lunch/dinner show in advance, or just dine at the big banquet halls for more flex schedule 3. Get there at opening if you want to reserve a free “fast pass” (we got there at 11am and none were left, that said, lines were 0-60min, most in shade or inside, not bad at all!) 4. On the app you can access interactive map and see wait times for rides, shows, and restaurants, and make fast pass reservations (download and check it out in advance for an idea of the best times for each ride and plan your day!) 5. 1-2hrs before closing wait times seemed to come way down 6. You can bring backpacks, drinks and food!! They have lots of water fountains so you should bring a bring and keep refilling to save on drinks! 7. Bring UV umbrella! Most lines are in shade or inside AC, but umbrella helps a lot while walking around! 8. Food isn’t outrageously priced. Kids sets are about $7-12, adult sets about $12-20. Much more for the restaurants with shows (cancan, luau etc) We were there end of July on a weekday, 11am-9pm, got in 12 rides, 2 shows, and 2 sit down meals!
