Hey Team, it's the last remaining days of the Aoocci mega sale. I did close to 2000 miles of riding with my C6 Pro on the suzukibikesuk GSXS1000GT, where it performed faultlessly! This exact bike, along with 33 others, was raced in France as part of a one make championship... think F900R CUP rounds in our BSB. PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 9 PHOTO DUMP 📸 Right, this brings me sadly to our last day 🥲 We woke up in the morning after a great night sleep. We were sad to leave this hotel as it was lovely. It wasn't massively far to get to the ferry in Bilbao from our hotel. We set off and experienced some truly beautiful mountain twisties. They flowed amazingly, and we were riding through the clouds again. We arrived at Bilbao and got on the ferry ⛴️ ready for our 29 hour stint on the sea! We settled into our cabin, went to the cafe to get some breakfast, played more games, and ate our weight in Ben and Jerrys Vegan Ice Cream again (actually nicer than normal ice cream tbf!) We were all tired, so we had a 1.5 hour nap on deck and picked up dodgy tans 🤣 met two wicked Irish bikers jackmacfury, and Dermot, who we talked about the trip with, telling them all about the cool stuff that had happened. After that ferry, we landed at Rosslare, went to the Crown Bar in Wexford, met up with Jade's mate, ate some grub, and then boarded the ferry to Wales. We arrived in Wales at around 11pm and we checked in to the Rose & Crown hotel, to get rested for our 5 hour ride home the next day! We rode one of my favourite roads in Wales, even detoured slightly to ride it. It was the Crossgates to Newtown route. Unfortunately, none of us could really appreciate it as the weather was dire. After a quick stop off at a Cafe to escape the rain for a bit, we filled our tanks and parted ways. What an incredible trip! PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 8 PHOTO DUMP 📸 So on this day, our hotel checkout was only at 12 noon, and check-in at the next hotel was at 3pm. Distance wise, it was only 1hr south to the next hotel. First, we headed to a lunch spot called Ruda, a vegan restaurant. We'd done some amazing twisties with lush greenery surrounding us before finally making it to Ruda (despite my dodgy navigation, my phone was just too hot to cope 🤣). We arrived at Ruda, hungry and ready to feast, to be told it was reservation only. We asked for recommendations nearby, and they basically sent us to a steak house... poor Jade, the only thing she could really eat was some questionable looking asparagus! After this stop, we found more twisties and a beautiful viewpoint, we took some snaps and then headed to the next viewpoint that I'd programmed into Google maps. As I was leading, the map threw us up the tightest hairpin of the trip, Georgie was powered by fear and told us she was that scared, she'd jumped straight to rigor mortis 🤣 I've not laughed as much in ages as when were basically greenlaning on a goat track. It was worth it as at the top, cows and goats... EVERYWHERE. On the way to the hotel, the nav took us on one of the most beautiful roads EVER, the BU572. Wow, just wow. It was absolutely breathtaking. Then, further up that road, Georgie got stung on the boob whilst riding, and I had to pull the stinger out 🫣 We arrived at our accommodation to the world's steepest driveway, which Georgie bossed despite being scared 🤣 We then found a restaurant that was open and had some chips. PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 7 PHOTODUMP 📸 Today, we embarked on our longest day yet, and boy, do we mean that! 😅 We were up and out of the air B&B and on the road for 9:30. It was actually dry! What a surprise! 😮 Today's mission was: Oloron-Sainte-Marie - Biarritz - heading back into Spain to ride the Getaria coast road (N-634) - Hoznayo. We made it to Biarritz by 2 hours of twisties - absolutely awesome. Arriving in Biarritz was a nightmare and took 20 minutes to find parking for all 3 pannier'ed up bikes! When we finally did, though... what a place! Of course, Jade got her 📷 out! After a wild goose chase for vegan food in the sweltering South West heat, we made it to Bali Bowls 🥣 in the heart of bustling Biarritz. 10/10 for this grub! At this point, it was 3pm, and without motorways, our hotel was still 5 hours away! We travelled across the border and into Spain (which took 2 hours) and landed in Geteria, where we stopped for delicious vegan ice cream before riding the beautiful Geteria coast road 🤩 From there, it was a further 3 hours to get to our hotel in Hoznayo. This journey was full of challenges, such as finding toilets when you're desperate! Georgie came out of a public toilet dripping in water as its homeless deterrent water canons were activated! 🤣 poor georgie wasn't even in all that long, but getting out of biker kit takes a bit of time!! 🤣 We made it to Hoznayo after a BEAUTIFUL sunset ride and landed just in time to snatch some fries from the kitchen! PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 6 PHOTO DUMP 📸 Well, it was a heck of a day leaving Foix. Absolutely torrential rain. Strapping bags on and getting hammered by the relentless rain. The cameras spent most of the day packed in the panniers away from the wet, and we didn't get many phone pictures... sorry about that! With rain on the forecast for most of the day, we didn't really seek out the super tight twisties and angled for a more direct, toll heavy route. We did stop at an Aldi for some dinner and then hit a bigger intermache supermarket next door as it was bigger with a whole aisle of vegan/bio/gluten/dairy free options. This was great as we were heading to Oloron-Sainte-Marie to stay the night, planning to cook. We rocked up at the accommodation, and it was lovely. We dumped our stuff and headed into town, where we stumbled across a hipster cafe. We ordered Kombucha, and let me tell you, it wasn't bloody like Liptons' version 🤣 it was horrific! We stopped at a pharmacy also for some electrolytes as even though it rained most of the day, it was still hot enough to keep us dehydrated. We arrived back at the b&b. Mother Jade started cooking, we had games on the go, life was good!! At night... it was traumatic. Jade lucked out with the double bed to herself (or so she thought) Georgie and I were bunk buddies. It was the HOTTEST most uncomfortable night sleep EVER. I creaked down the wooden bunk bed ladders at stupid oclock in the early hours because I was too restless and needed water desperately. I was so uncomfortable that I thought I cant go back to that bunk. I got my water and snuck in with Jade, who proceeded to bolt upright in a dazed and panicked state... 'WHO ARE YOU AND WHY ARE YOU IN MY BED?!' 🤣🤣 Georgie heard the commotion, agreed it was too hot, and went to get the fan to point in Jade's room. It got cold quick in there, so we all top and tailed. PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 5 PHOTO DUMP 📸 Well, the rain came down HEAVY overnight. Georgies poor alcantara seat was sodden (dejavu from trips with Lillie and her alcantara seat 🤣). Everything seemed to be going wrong with electronic issues and broken mounts (just a typical high stress morning for youtubers, lol) We set off, all smiles, and just cracked on. It was drizzling and miserable when we found a sleepy French town to fill up our water bottles... that is when the heavens OPENED! I mean full-blown biblical proportions of rain 🥲 Georgie and I suffered squelchy feet, which is disgusting for gear changes, but Jade managed to keep her tootsies dry 🤣 Tight twisties are fun in the dry, but take some serious concentration when the road becomes greasy as heck! Luckily, Jade and Georgie had some fresh Road 6s on, so they were pretty much set for it! It was here that we decided to abandon the twisties in place of tolls - that took hours off the riding day. We weren't bothered, we just liked the thought of getting to a hotel and drying off! Tolls were a breeze with our secret weapon, a retractable lanyard 🤣 as recommended to us by gilesspong (thanks for the tip!) We finally made it to Hotel Pyrène in Foix. Ample parking, nice hotel, but no taxis available from there, and the nearest Vegan accommodating restaurant was a 30-minute, beautiful walk into the sleepy town of Foix. That's where we found Thai Restaurant, La Siam. Jade had some tofu and stir-fried vegetables, and Georgie and I had a tofu and shrimp Pad Thai bowl. On the walk home, we narrowly avoided a human trafficking, Liam Neeson type situation from some boy racers asking us if we needed a lift anywhere. We politely declined. PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 4 PHOTO DUMP 📸 Today was another fairly late start since everything was miserable and wet. We set off, heading to Roses, but google Maps did us dirty, and we headed back to Tremp where we'd been the night before. We realised it wasn't the correct way and resumed course but not before riding a beautiful Pantà de sant Antoni Lake Road (I guess everything happens for a reason!) 😍 Today was the day of beautiful viewpoints. I'll just let the photos do the talking... what's even better? These stunning viewpoints were along the N260. Our favourite viewpoint is what the Google Maps screen grab is, for those wondering. The N260 is an absolute MUST RIDE ROAD if you're hitting the Pyrenees 🤤 After riding through the amazing twisties and riding through Perves and Sort 😅 we found a supermarket to get some grub 😋 which we ate in their carpark. As we got closer to Roses, the heavens opened, and we hit the motorway to blast off some miles so we could get to the hotel, settle in for the evening, and relax. When we finally got to the hotel in Roses, we were damp, the motorway wind had dried us out a little 🤏 but not massively. We unloaded the bikes, marched up to our hotel room, showered, washed and hung up some clothes (we travelled fairly light!) then headed out to the seafront which was a stones throw from our hotel. Roses was BUSTLING with night life, thought we'd accidently rocked up in Benidorm, and we walked the along the seafront before heading to a place that served banging vegan grub and lovely mocktails! After food, we went on a wild goose chase for vegan ice cream (at about bloody midnight) 🤣 but the mission was unsuccessful. PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 3 PHOTO DUMP 📸 Bit of a late start on Day 3 after the world's worst sleep, stuffed on to the pull out sofa bed, dehydrated and puffy faced 🥵 As we took all our kit to the bikes and got ready to head off, we were greeted by horses walking past us 😍 The horse poo in the foyer totally made sense 🤣 When we left, we came across a beautiful view point, which was great for Georgie who got her shot... for myself and Jade though, we weren't so lucky and the thick cloud enveloped the mountains before eclipsing the beautiful distant peaks. We hit the road pretty quickly to venture into what we can only describe as thick, dense jungle scenes, gravelly single track hairpins that felt more like a green lane than a proper road! But it was pretty fun! We were staying at Hotel Sole on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees and whilst it was bucketing down in France, we rode for 8km through a tunnel and popped out in Spain, where we were greeted by more intense heat 🥵 The good weather was short-lived in Spain as we found ourselves running away from dark clouds and lightening whilst riding the twistiest switchbacks. It honestly felt like a race against the elements. We thought we'd won the race as we arrived at the hotel, dark skies closing in but dry! PYRENEES GIRLS TOUR DAY 2 PHOTO DUMP 📸 Day 2 and we landed in Bilbao at 8am in the morning after 31 hours on the ferry! First stop of the day was local - in Bilbao, for a breakfast fit for Queens! It was gorgeous (if not a little overkill!) and ticked Jade's vegan needs with a host of vegan options there 😁 From there, we rode to Pamplona in 40 degree heat, and it was some of the most extreme riding conditions we'd ever rode in. When you cracked open your visor, it was like leaning over the oven door when you open it to check on your grub 🫠 We honestly couldn't stay hydrated enough, and we suffered some mockled legs from engine heat! 🥲 After Pamplona, we headed for France 🇫🇷 where our B&B was. We ended up finding the most amazing twisty roads and tackling our first proper hairpins of the trip (shown on the map in the photos). We got to the B&B (greeted by large mounds of horse poo on the doorstep 🤣), we were advised to take our own bedding, but there were screwed up sheets on the bunk beds and we didn't trust it... so all 3 of us crammed together on the pull out sofa bed 🤣 in the baking heat, with no aircon... man, it was a sweaty night. Let me tell you 🤣 Before our sofa bed ordeal, though, we rounded the night off on the balcony, in the warm, playing games, eating some food we'd bought and cooked, all while listening to sound of the cowbells in the distance... We had some time to kill before our 11:59pm ferry to Bilboa, so we stopped at Jasper's in Wexford for some vegan grub! Travelling with Jade (our resident vegan), we thought we'd embrace it! Omg WHAT a FINAL DAY at the Heritage Sprint. It was SO MUCH FUN! My 68 ponies have never galloped as hard 🤣 I've never been before, so mike_pye_on_twitch & I did not know what to expect, but it exceeded what we thought it would be like!
