Some airlines, like Air Europa, still make you put a tag on each luggage piece. This has to be written out. If you have a pen, you can do it while in line. If not you have to wait longer at the counter while you fill it out. 3. Technology is like Murphy’s law. When you need it the most, is when it decides it doesn’t want to work. [Save for Later] Guatemala Series: Part 2 🇬🇹 Volcan de Pacaya is still one of the several active volcanoes Guatemala has. Its last eruption was in 2021 and luckily there were no injuries. This tour is SAFE to do. 🥾 The hike is 5 km (3.1 miles) roundtrip. Depending on your level of agility, it can be between 1.5 to 3 hours roundtrip. It is not an easy hike. Consider taking your time and going during the early morning/day. The hike is steep, rocky, and if it rains, very muddy. 🎟️ Price per person is 100 quetzal ($13.50 USD). Hiking sticks are also for rent by locals for 10 quetzal per stick ($1.50 USD). It’s important to note that all of this is CASH ONLY. 🐎 Horses are available for rent between 250-300 quetzal (about $43 USD) and that is for roundtrip. This is great for the ones who want the experience of horse riding or not hiking it all completely. Doing this not only is easier for you but helps the locals economically. 🚌 We booked this tour on viator with hotel pick up and drop off from Antigua. This is about a 6 hour tour (about 1.5 hours drive each way) and about 3 hours hiking. You get to roast marshmallows at the top and take in the views and cool air up top. [Save for Later] Guatemala Series: Part 1. 🇬🇹 Altamira in Antigua, Guatemala. 🗻 Nestled high into the mountain is a little gem with statues of hands, hearts, quotes, a plane and epic view of the city and volcanoes. It’s an ecological park full of places to take breathtaking pictures. 🚲 You can ride a cable bike hundreds of feet above ground and take in the epic views of the city and landscape. 🎟️ We paid 50 quetzal (about $7 USD). The bike ride was 20 quetzal per person and another $7 for the 360 camera footage. 🕰️ You can easily spend 2-4 hours here, depending on what you want to do.
