‼️ EPIC ‼️We made it to Universal’s Epic Universe, which opened here in Orlando in May. I love the concept of entering each land through a portal, being transported somewhere other-worldly each time! Tops attractions for me, the kind-blowing Battle of the Ministry, Star Dust Racers (both tracks!), Mario’s Kart… We purchases express passes for the day and rode everything expect the short water ride (kept suffering delays), some rides multiple times. It was buuuuusy. A ridiculously large ‘thank you’ to YOU for your support. 1 year ago I officially became self-employed, ending my 25 year teaching career, and made an office out of our ‘den’ at home. Since then I’ve travelled, filmed, vlogged, written for travel magazines, attended press events, made radio ‘appearances’, launched a travel accessory shop with Maffoo and have grown my channels, subs and views. There are now 45,000 of you on YouTube, 11.5 million views, 12,000 of you lovelies here on FaceAche, over 23,000 on Instagram, X, Threads, over 80,000 across my Facebook pages, 726 Patreon members, partnerships with travel / cruise companies, my first group cruise, and I’ve ranked no.9 on most requested cameos worldwide. I had multiple messages a year ago saying ‘you’ll be back at school by this time next year’ (imagine actually saying that to anyone, the 🥩 🥪s), and here I am, as the next school academic year begins, still doing what I set my mind on. Swipe ◀️ for 18 pics of my overnight journey with brittanyferries Brittany Ferries on their ship St Malo, launched in 2024, a hybrid ship powered by LNG and electricity. She can home 1400 passengers and has 387 cabins of different grades. For my overnight journey from Portsmouth, UK, to St Malo, France, I stayed in a sea view cabin, deck 6, midship. Surprisingly comfy! The ship has 3 restaurants, a large lounge / bar (with live entertainment), shops galore, lots of open deck spaces to wander and chill, kids zones…pretty much everything covered. Safe to say I enjoyed the experience and enjoyed getting some ‘proper’ rest before arriving into St Malo. Maybe modern-day ferries are the new cruise ships?! Are you a ferry fan? Swipe ⬅️ My cabin / stateroom on norwegiancruiseline NCL Dawn, an inside cabin, starboard side, mid-ship, 8095. OK, so hear me out, I’d always rather have at least an ocean view cabin minimum (and I don’t subscribe to the notion that you only use your cabin ‘to sleep and shower’ - I do a lot of other things in my cabin, thank you very much), but sometimes travelling solo, affordability will play a big role. It allowed me to take this 11 night cruise, for example. It’s one of the eldest NCL ships but it has lots of storage, a good sized bathroom / shower and awesome AC, so all is well. I think the furniture is from 23 years ago - it’s very red. I don’t mind this tbh and at least they’ve tried to introduce splashes of colour elsewhere so it’s not totally bland-ola. All I. Woaaaah! After all these years I finally visited Giant’s Causeway in beautiful Northern Ireland! We arrived into Belfast on Norwegian Dawn and I took a tour from there.The causeway is known for its mostly hexagonal columns (over 40,000 of them) that were formed around 60 million years ago after volcanic activity! When the very slow moving lava flow reached the ocean, it cooled quickly forming these stunning columns. And the name Giant’s Causeway? Legend has it that a giant, named Finn (great name for a giant, right?) built a path across the sea to Scotland to fight a Scottish giant called Benandonner who later destroyed parts of the causeway in his retreat. Why is this not a film?! Anyway, I am in awe - absolutely stunning site. Already hoping to go back. Welcome to norwegiancruiseline Norwegian Dawn! It’s only my second ever NCL cruise (my first on NCL Joy) and my first time sailing on this lovely ship! Whale and dolphin watching off the coast of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores. £85 for 3 1/2 hours, 8 sperm whale sightings and hundreds (no exaggeration) of dolphins. Ad. Some pics of my cabin onboard Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Borealis. It’s a Junior Balcony Suite (7053, starboard, aft) and comes with extras such as priority check-in, daily canopés, fruit basket, carafe of water refreshed daily, robes / slippers, sparkling wine on arrival, atlas, binoculars etc. I have a jacuzzi-style bath tub, separate bedroom / lounge space and balcony. It’s also spotlessly clean. This ship started life with Holland America as MS Rotterdam 28 years ago! She still looks better in many areas than much newer ships. Traditional cruising done right imo. These last few days I’ve been in Helensburgh, Scotland visiting my niece, nephew and great nephew. I travelled overnight on the Caledonian Sleeper in a club cabin (yay for a bed and en-suite on a train) and spent time with the family walking parts of Loch Lomond, a meal at the UK’s most haunted pub/hotel (the Drover’s Inn), a stroll around the water front of Helensburgh, coffee stops (obvs), the village of Luss and a meal / great cocktails at the Sugar Boat. Our Balcony (Club) stateroom on cunardline Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, located on deck 12, port side and forward (12010). The most comfy bed I think I’ve had at sea, ample storage space, hot shower, great AC, nice sitting area, quiet location (staterooms above and below), ocean views from the bed / couch and of course those balcony views.
