Tried Mister Donut’s new Mocchurin (もっちゅりん) donuts and they are next-level chewy 🍩✨
 If you’ve had their classic Pon de Ring, imagine that—but five times chewier. So satisfying! There are four flavours:
– Sweet soy glaze (a sweet take on the classic mitarashi)
– Brown sugar glaze with gooey warabimochi inside
– Kinako with icing sugar (simple but lovely)
– Red bean paste sandwiched between the dough I went on a weekend and they were all sold out 😭 but managed to grab them on a weekday morning—worth it! Hard to choose a favourite, but the brown sugar with warabimochi stood out the most. Soft, chewy, and unlike any other donut I've had. Highly recommend grabbing one if you see it! Here’s everything we made: - Ramen soup (tonkotsu or soy sauce) - Noodles - Some toppings (stamped boiled egg, minced meat and fried chicken) - Gyoza I had never made tonkotsu ramen from scratch, so this experience was　very interesting. It’s amazing to see how much work is put into making a bowl of ramen. Happy New Year!! 🥳 My start for 2025 was amazing! I spent the New Year’s in my parent’s weekend house in Chiba prefecture and had lots of good food and drinks 🤩 Photos 1 & 2: It’s a Japanese tradition to visit a shrine at the start of each year to pray for good fortune for the year. It’s called “hatsumode”. Something you can’t miss is the fortune slips! It tells you your luck for the year ahead! I tried the unique “water fortune” where words appear when you dip the paper into water. This year, I got “excellent fortune” 🥰 I hope that 2025 will be amazing! Photos 3 & 4 & 5: These are the 3 Osechi boxes I had for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s. Osechi is a luxury box eaten during the New Year’s and each dish has a special meaning for good luck. This year I was able to try not only Japanese style, but also Chinese and Western style fusion Osechi. 2024 📸 2024 was a year of big changes, travels, and so much delicious food! One of the biggest milestones was launching my own tour company, Shun Tours, in April. It’s been such a rewarding experience meeting so many of you in person and sharing my passion for Japanese food and culture. My domestic travels included Sapporo, Ashikaga, Disneyland, Kamikochi, Miyagi, Fukushima, Yamagata, Miyazaki, Ehime, and Kochi. My international travels took me to Singapore, Bintan Island, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, England, and France. I was also fortunate to meet and collaborate with many amazing companies and creators this year. Here are some highlights from 2024: ▪️ Singapore & Bintan: I started the year in Singapore and spent a relaxing few days on Bintan Island after New Year’s, despite the rainy season. ▪️ Meiji Shrine: I prayed for good fortune for 2024 at Meiji Shrine, which is now such a special place for me after having my wedding there. ▪️ Sapporo: I visited Sapporo to attend the Sapporo Snow Festival for YouTube content. In this photo, I’m trying ice fishing for the first time! ▪️ Sakura: I went cherry blossom hunting a lot this year during the season. ▪️ First Tour: My very first tour was with jtc_travels, and we had such a blast! Thank you so much for joining my pilot tour—it truly gave me the confidence to offer tours to more people. ▪️ Ashikaga Flower Park: Famous for its wisteria, I visited with my besties seefoodstagram, yuriefoodie, and japanwithrachel. ▪️ Sushi: I explored so many sushi places this year—not just for content, but to uncover hidden gems for my tours. I’m so grateful I got to share these spots with my tour customers. ▪️ Miyagi: Work took me to Miyagi prefecture, where I held a real katana for the first time! ▪️ Tohoku: I went on a 5-day road trip to Tohoku for the autumn red leaves 🍁 The spots are on my YouTube channel! ▪️ Shikoku: I visited Ehime and Kochi prefectures for the first time.
