Recently, I sat down with Dr. Diana Ponsky during a follow-up after my own peel, and we had a candid chat. Here’s what I learned and what you need to know if you’re considering this treatment for yourself!!✨ When we treated my eyes with a chemical peel during my blepharoplasty last October, I totally noticed a big difference: the skin there is now baby-smooth. The only snag was that the treated area was a bit lighter than the rest of my face. Dr. Ponsky explained that when only one specific area gets peeled, sometimes it heals a little differently. This can lead to a mismatch in skin tone because the newly refreshed skin has less melanin (the pigment that gives us color). In my case, she suggested that I do the entire face next time, ideally in the winter, for the best homogenized results. Lesson learned: if you’re already set for downtime, maximize your results!!
