- Well that was easier than expected. Kids are amazing! Our 4-year-old went from a balance bike to a pedal bike in under 30 minutes. I figured her two years on a balance bike would help, but I was still surprised by how quickly it came together! She started on a woom 1 and now she’s riding a woom GO 3. They’re lightweight, simple, and easy for little kids to handle. If your kid is ready to take on pedals, here are a few tips that helped us: Tip 1: Skip training wheels. If they can balance, they’re already most of the way there! Tip 2: Start on a slight slope so they can get rolling without thinking too much about pedaling. Tip 3: Turn it into a game. I raced her using only one leg at one point and she thought it was hilarious. Tip 4: Keep it light. Encourage them, have fun, and let them figure it out with a bit of space. Every kid is different. Some are ready for pedals sooner and some later, and that's okay. Happy riding and see you out on the trail! #woombikesusa #enjoytheride #balancebike #pedalbike #thewaltonadventure #familyadventures #bikefun
