HIDDEM GEM ALERT! Found this sweet, little Korean place which serves lipsmacking food, with gracious service too! The place looks quite homely, consisting of around 5 tables and was manned by just one person as the owner was out of town. It was a sweet Korean woman, who patiently explained each dish on the menu, to help us make the order. We tried : Chicken Gimbap This was sticky rice chicken and some veggies wrapped in a seaweed, served with a sweet-sour soy dip on the side. You need to consume the whole thing at once to actual savour it properly. The lone sweet Korean woman, who was serving, fed one personally to me and my friend, which was a warm gesture. Loved it! Mandu Ramen - This was not something which I’d rate highly. It was some basic soupy Ramen, and the taste was somewhat like the ready-to-eat variety. The Mandu’s shell also seemed a bit thick. Dakgangjeong - Korean sweet-spicy fried chicken. A great balance of sweet and spices with the heat of sesame at the end . I must mention that the slightly crispy outer chicken coating amplified the experience. Korean Ginseng Tea - A unique tasting, refreshing tea, which seemed to be made with quite high quality ginseng tea. Overall, I found their food and service to be delightful. A visit is hence recommended. Back to one of my favs sienna_store and I was not disappointed. This time I tried - • Pulled BBQ Chicken Burger - Lovely soft fluffy bun with a tangy-smokey bbq sauce. A delightful burger indeed. • Goan Sausage Fried Rice - Ultra smokey flavour, tastes best when combined with the yolk of the half fried egg We sat in the upper floor room which had such wonderful aesthetics . Here’s some glimpses from swiggyindia Big Birthday Bash event from last Sunday. My highlight from the event was definitely the Peri Peri Pizza from official.mozza and the chocolate icecream from icecreamlabkolkata . Taking a shopping break at southcity_mall with some lovely Fish N Chips (Fiery) and a Crispy Fish Burger by the_fishcompany! The batter of the fish was really yum and crispy. It was sprinkled with some spicy red pepper powder to make it fiery. It wasn’t extra spicy, just suitable. Moreover, the fish was quite white and fresh in the inside. The burger bun was also softy and fluffy. Overall, I am quite satisfied with both offerings, especially considering its a food court joint, which aren’t always great. Located near Russel Dhaba, I found this gem of a cafe! It has to be one of the most aesthetic cafes in Kolkata. The interiors are minimal, and yet so soothing to the eyes ! Apart from the Dark Green/offwhite marble, I personally love the dark tan wooden chairs. Everything here is so tastefully designed. The place gives you a very European cafe vibe. Coming to my experience with their offerings, I tried these - 1. Rich Chocolate Gateau This pastry was as delicious as it looked. The layers of the cake was very soft and the top layer had a mousse like texture, with an extremely deep chocolate flavour. The taste profile seemed like a mix of dark and normal chocolate. This was definitely one of the stand-out items of my experience! 2. Bang-Bang Crispy Chicken Salad with iceberg Lettuce, spring onions,pickled cucumber and satay sauce The salad also had a very interesting flavour combination owing to the salty-sweet satay sauce, the slightly sour pickled cucumbers and the crunchy freshness of the lettuce. 3. Strawberry Black Tea & Darjeeling Oolong Tea - Both these teas were soothing . The strawberry tea had a more fruity-sweetish flavour while the oolong tea was slightly more mellow. However, both teas were pleasing to taste. They produce their own teas and the flavours are very defined. This gives them an edge over others . They haven’t jammed too many tables together. So, it is a nice place to have conversation over hi-tea. I definitely recommend this cafe to anyone looking for an aesthetic, peaceful cafe, with top-notch food , teas and desserts. This was the KK Musical night mrswilsonscafe . Everyone was humming along KK’s tunes, which included our childhood fav. Pal to the most romantic ‘Main agar Kahoon’, reminiscing the legendary singer’s voice in their minds, and the impact it had on their lives. The vibe was amazing. However, it could not make up for their average quality of food. The Aglio Olio, especially, was over-cooked and under-seasoned. It also took an unexplainable amount of time to make this simple dish. The cafe is situated inside a home and done up with basic interiors. It gives you a congenial and warm feeling. Visited this cosy cafe again, after a long time. As always, our experience was great. It is a quaint cafe with a variety of food,dessert, drink options. They changed their location last year, and I really miss their old outdoor seating space. However, the new place is also very aesthetically done up and is a treat to the eyes. My picks from this visit would be : Blueberry Cheesecake - Light and airy with a nice crunch of the biscuit base at the end. Wonderfully balanced tartness. PCB Signature Brownie - You can’t go wrong with this one. Firm from outside and a bit gooey on the inside. Absolutely loved it! The service is a very amicable and the servers recommendations are great. He suggested us the blueberry cheesecake which we really adored! Parsi cuisine is not very different from the usual north indian cuisine. There are a lot of common ingredients and spices. They simply have their own unique perspective on mainstay dishes. Was out to sample some of these distinct tastes on my last visit to Soda Bottle Openerwala, South City Mall. The place has a very upbeat vibe with an array of colors - green, aqua and yellow - adorning the walls and light fixtures. What adds to the energy are classic, catchy bollywood songs which you can enjoy until your food arrives. Here are the dishes I ordered - DHANSAK - this is a Parsi lentil preparation, served with a basmati rice pulao and a basic salad. Overall, the rice tasted good by itself but the lentil gravy was nothing exceptional. CHEESY PAW BHAJI - this was easily the star dish. It was a mellow tasting bhaji with a deliciously soft Paw bun. Heavenly! EGG WRAPPED KEEMA PULAO - A decent tasting dish. Looks mouthwatering when you break open the fluffy omelette to reveal the lovely pulao inside. Again, a mellow flavour with regards to spice but the taste was pleasant. RASBERRY SODA- They used actual rasberry bits inside the soda and the drink was a refreshing one overall. The waiting time for dishes was average and the service was prompt.
