These are our favorite moments at the Etosha Safari Lodge! gondwanalodges It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to wake up here. The excitement we felt to visit Etosha national park, seeing these beautiful animals up close was unbelievable! The lodge is a 15 minutes drive from the Anderson gate and the perfect location to explore the park. We had seen zebras and giraffes the days before Etosha but somewhat far away and we hoped to maybe see a giraffe and a zebra up close. Postcards from Deadvlei! This is easily one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been to! Can you believe these trees have been dead for 700 years?! We spent two full mornings here and honestly could have spent even longer exploring the area. Our creator hearts were so happy capturing the scenery and playing around with the light here! We were told it would be a quiet night with no wind when we arrived and it would be the perfect conditions to sleep outside! There are only 10 tented camps on property and it felt like ultimate freedom being able to enjoy our private corner of the desert. TRAVEL TIP THURSDAY ✨ Top 7 Travel Essentials We have been to almost 70 countries and by now know how to pack efficiently and what to bring on trips! These are our tried and true travel essentials: 1. A hard shell suitcase! This samsoniteusa suitcase has been around the world and holds up amazingly! 2. Sunscreen and dry shampoo! We are currently loving larocheposayusa and batiste_hair 3. Travel mugs for coffee on the go. We love yeti as it truly keeps our coffee warm for hours (and iced coffee stays cold)! 4. In 2015, I sat next to a passenger who wore these and I asked him if they work. He was so kind and gave them to me to try. I bought my first pair that day and never looked back! 6. Packing cubes are the best for staying organized and they save space! We bought ours at tjmaxx, they always have such a great selection of sizes and shapes. 7. Hand sanitizer! Sandwhich Harbour is the only place in the world where sand dunes meet the ocean! Imagine standing on top of a dune and looking straight down at the waves, that’s crazy! We explored Sandwich Harbour with sandwavesadventure and were blown away! The area is only accessible by organized 4x4 tour from Walvis Bay or Swakopmund. There is a strange beauty in places that are taken over by nature. Kolmanskop was abandoned in 1954 and since then, the Namib desert has taken over! Wherever you walk here, the rooms are filled with sand, leaving this unreal atmosphere of greatness that once was. Would you walk around here or be spooked? We spent all morning here taking photos and could easily have stayed longer! No videos or photos we saw is doing it justice! It’s outer worldly! One of the most famous places in Namibia is Deadvlei. It’s a clay pan surrounded by sand dunes and what’s so unique are the dead trees which still stand here. How to get here: 📍Deadvlei is located next to Sossusvlei, in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. 🚗 You can get here by driving yourself or booking a tour. Park entrance is N$ 150 for tourists, and N$ 50 per vehicle. 🕜 If you’re staying outside the park, you can access the park at 7:30am. It is our favorite hike in Switzerland (we’ve been here 3 or 4 times already) because of these incredible views! We truly feel rich because we’re able to see this place with our own eyes! Oeschinensee hiking guide 👇 🚠 Gondola ride: 8min up (reserve time slot in advance!!), cost: CHF 40 return 🥾Then hike the panoramic loop (Oberbärgli → Unterbärgli → back) which is 8.4km and takes about 3h 30min (it took us 4h with photo stops, this view is 1.5h into the hike) If you want to skip the gondola and hike all the way up, it’s an additional 1h 45min from Kandersteg to the lake one way. For the full hike from Kandersteg and back, plan 8-9 hours with breaks. We have done the full hike once and it’s definitely possible but you will want to reserve the full day as it is quite steep! Would you have guessed it? We had no idea! 🤯 That is until a few months ago, we did not realize Tunisia was this incredible and yet so underrated! You can visit the most insane Roman builds here and be the only person on property! Talk about crazy!! Places you absolutely have to visit in Tunisia: - Sidi Bou Saïd (the blue and white city). It literally looks like Mykonos! - Kairouan - sucha cute town with super picturesque streets - El Jem - it looks like the Colosseum in Rome and when we were there, we shared it with 20 people tops. - Dougga - it’s called the most magnificent Roman site in Africa and it was our favorite place on the trip!
