Everyone is talking about time management nowadays , but let me tell you one thing… time management is a myth…..doing small tasks everyday matters a lot. You can’t do time management thing every single day… you’re not a robot… so the question is are you doing your task at a given time.
In my case I can’t do same thing every single day…. But I keep assure that I will complete the task before the given time… meanwhile I can do whatever I want in my personal life.

And In 6 years of practicing architecture. I’ve realised that the most problematic things for architects is time management.
For this write down the every day task like to do list before starting your day so you’ll have vision at least for a day. Make sure to complete 2-3 task from that list. So you’ll get confidence automatically after that.
Try not to delay your tasks or procrastinate too much so you have to work with too much pressure when you’ll have very little amount of time for submission.
Keep your phone or laptop aside in evenings to spend time with your family, friends or yourself.
I know architecture is very stressful profession you have to work day in and day out (site visit, making drawings, submissions, meetings, material selection etc) to make some sort of money but same time spending time with family , friends and for yourself is also important.
So write down your daily routine, read books, do lot of other stuff which keeps your mind healthy plus share your ideas or thoughts with known ones to reach new perspectives in your life.
I hope it helped you, share this with your friend who needs to hear this.

No 1. Get a Deep knowledge - there’s a huge difference between college and practical knowledge so get a job, get a deep knowledge about the industry. meanwhile

no 2 -Make yourself visible … people buy or make their intereston thing which are visible. So make yourself visible. Make your website, tell your relatives what your do, make your social media business profile.…meet you old friends… make new friends or travel so you can connect new people…

no 3- Aim for 5 solid clients…, your first 5 projects are enough,,….To earn money, to earn your name in market and use that clients to make new clients because clients automatically refers new clients if they liked your work.

no 4- Market yourself- (mouth publicity) there is nothing better than Market yourself by mouth publicity…If you get positive results in starting. Then clients always refers your name to other client and they will keep bringing you…more clients

No 5 keep patience - You have to understand that there are lot of meetings will be held this year if you keep follow the above process, there will be a time when you don’t have a single project and there will be a time when you have a lot of projects. So keep patience during your free time and be ready to face lot of rejection because my experience says in every 10-12 meetings you finalise only one project.
I hope you find this helpful. 2024-03-25 16:02:08 No 1... 270 -82% 2 -98%

How much should I charge to the client as a fresher or an experienced.
How should I ask payment to the clients.
This is the most asked question I received nowadays and the answer is simple.
Its totally depends on how much value you are providing to your clients. How much you are experienced in the market. If you are 1 or 2 years experienced and you are charging like you are more than 10 years experienced. This isn’t justified because you can’t provide that much value to the client as compared to 10 years experienced architect.
Just ask yourself when you give your rates to your clients “Is that value justify your fees”.
.
It’s like Agar 5000 ki value provide krane ke padle k badle 50,000 expect kroge to vo ni hga na.
If you’re asking in lakhs and giving nothing, is this justified ?

Second you have to understand that meetings , giving proposals without asking any advance payment are the essential part of any architect in his starting days. You have to show yourself how much you are capable of doing best designs by giving free proposals and doing meetings.
Give 2-3 changes as a proposal then you can ask the advance payment to test if he is genuine client or not.
These things can helps you improve you designing skills plus understanding different mindset of clients . Because some clients just wants free designs and some are genuine.
In 7 years in Architecture field, I always give 2-3 free proposals to my clients till now and then ask the advance payment which will adjust in my fees later.
.
And after finalising the project you have to make payment schedule for the client. You have to give that to your clients so they also know about their payment time. Always ask for the payment “stage wise”, at every stage. So it will be easier for your clients to understand about the payment and for you to keep yourself save from getting fraud or exploiting from the clients.
Comment “Payment “ and I will send you the
“Architectural Contract and Payment schedule “ so you can use directly use in your practice for free. And if you don’t get message you can directly download it from the link in my bio.

This is the sad reality.
No architecture firm wants you to design as a fresher but work more as a draftsman and site supervisor.
.
So, if you’re thinking that designing things will be helpful for you, the answer may be yes, but more than that, you should show every skill you have or have gained in your college days.
It can be your communication, software, presentation, photography vision, sketching, or team leadership at any event; it can be anything that shows your strengths other than design. It can be helpful for you and the firm to which you’re applying, so they can find out how you can help them grow their firm in other ways.
So if you’re thinking of just putting your designs without any good presentation, compositions, bad rendered views, directly autocad drawings, or bad sketches in your portfolio, this can be the biggest mistake you are making. Your portfolio shows your identity and personality. And every firm has its own reputation, standard, and system.
And if you want some specific firm to work with, find their working style and their standard, improve yourself, and match their standards so you can help them by just 1%.
Doing design at an architecture firm as a fresher is far from what you are thinking in your starting days. So it’ll be better if you work more on presentation, software, and communication skills than applying without a good standard portfolio. It can be more helpful to you in your career.
Because designing is the last step in the office, you forget about the earlier steps.
