![What was supposed to be a calm boat ride from Koh Samui to Koh Tao quickly turned into an absolute nightmare.
Within 30 minutes of leaving the shore, the skies darkened, the waves grew wild, and our ferry was being tossed around like a toy in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand. At one point, the waves were so high above our boat, people were screaming and gasping holding on for dear life, and some just sat frozen in fear.
There were life jackets but no announcements about what’s happening or if we were going to be fine! We were just a boat full of terrified tourists, riding through a full-blown storm.
We had no idea if we’d make it through — all we could do was hold on, pray, and hope we’d see land again.
I never imagined I’d be documenting something like this — but here it is: raw, real, and terrifying.
Nature doesn’t care for your plans, and in that moment, neither did the sea.
Grateful we made it out safely. Sharing this now because it’s something I’ll never forget.

Genda is deeply rooted in Indian cultural and religious festivities. Nikhil (goyaltenthouseofficial) asked Harshita (harshita_agarwal31) and me to design a ‘Bahu Swagat Ceremony’ and we decided to go use Genda and Kesariya as our focus elements. We didn’t have a lot of time to design, but even after all the chaos it turned out so beautiful. We used some playful elements like the Genda balls in various sizes, good ol’ Rajasthani puppets and terracotta miniatures! Pops of colors with florals helped balance out the color palate.

It’s like a balancing act: presence without intrusion, beauty without distraction. For this setup, we let the painting guide us—it almost merges with the tablescape. The flowers and foliage echo its abundance, while vintage artefacts add a touch of nostalgia. Seasonal fruits and vegetables play peek-a-boo along the runner, leaving just enough room for the food to shine.

Styled this intimate Mehendi for diamondflorist_jaipur . The family was very particular to have South Indian elements incorporated into the decor. The Entrance passage was our main focus with the wooden arch covered in green and white garlands with pops of pink. White arches adorned with Rajnigandha Tassles and folded leaf elements led the guests into the space. Elements like coconuts, bananas, Lotus Flowers, Lotus pods, brass bells & Mango Leaves enhanced the look of the console table arrangements along with the divine smell of Rajnigandha. We’ve also used Elephant grass a visual tool to break the monotony of the arches.

![It’s rare to come across someone who knows exactly what they want — Amrita Aunty is one of those few. When she asked me to help with her daughter Tania’s wedding, I didn’t think twice before saying yes.
Working with her was beautifully simple. We exchanged a few ideas, layered in some of my suggestions, and just like that — we had a wedding.
There’s something truly special about an early morning temple wedding. We kept things minimal and meaningful, making the gazebo the sole focal point. It was dressed in white rajnigandha, soft pink kaner, and pops of desi gulab peeking through.
I had the most fun putting together the lawn entrance (Slide 8). We played around with pristine white garlands until it felt like the perfect kind of chaos.
Tania walked through the lawn in between perfectly arranged farshis (standing chandeliers) filled with pink kaner and the steps to the gazebo were lined with rajnigandha and completely carpeted in rose petals — the fragrance in the air was absolutely divine.

In Hindu traditions, most rituals are very family-centered and community-oriented. The Satyanarayana Katha holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for Telugus, and it’s especially meaningful when performed after a wedding. The Katha is seen as a way to cleanse, reset, and sanctify the home and the couple before they step into their regular life.
lilgestures wanted something traditional, spiritual, and elegant—creating a sacred and serene atmosphere for this intimate gathering. Since the katha was hosted by mrudualla in her beautiful house, we wanted the decor to be warm, welcoming, and rooted in South Indian aesthetics.

![✨This is a result of designing an event in less than 12 hours without seeing the venue or meeting vendors/partners. ✨
Once in a while, there comes a project which is very last minute and this one was quite literally that. Nikhil (goyaltenthouseofficial) threw a challenge at Harshita (harshita_agarwal31) and me, asking us to come up with a design for an event which was to happen in less than 24 hours. Luckily, the client had a vision of what he wanted and we started off from there! After the initial shock, there was an exhilarating energy to come up with something that can work within the short time span and that will match the clients vibe! Though the whole exercise was extremely stressful, we enjoyed the process and the outcome was pretty good given the situation!
mybagiya were our floral partners and it was a breeze working with them. Two calls, a powerpoint presentation explaining our design and requirements was all it took for them to execute this project in such a short timeframe.

lilgestures reminds me of a time when I was in school and I’d hear about them ever so often during events, auspicious days, happy moments in most of the homes of eminent families of Hyderabad. Minakshi Aunty has been a part of this field from almost 3 decades and when she approached me to design and execute this beautiful project, I jumped at the opportunity to work and learn from her. We didn’t have a lot of time, but the few days we spent designing and detailing I was constantly in awe of how she functions- quick thinking, great with numbers and always had the best ideas when we were stuck.
It was an absolute delight to visit mrudualla ‘s house. Every corner of the house was carefully curated, with stunning artwork, unique curios from their travels, and lush greenery bringing the space to life. Her art collection, in particular, left me awestruck—it felt like walking through a beautifully assembled gallery with pieces that told stories of our culture and heritage. It was one of those homes that didn’t just look beautiful but also had a soul, a reflection of the people who lived in it.

Suma reached out for a small and intimate Diwali Soirée she was hosting and wanted me to do the flowers. What I love about Suma is she gave me the creative freedom to bring her vision to life. Even though I met her for the first time, it felt like we were just catching up after a long break.
✨ Our love for Genda is very obvious- desi, resilient, warm and ever so forgiving. The entrance was to be our focal point for which we wanted to do a large & over the top floral installation on their stunning stone table. For height, I ended up using a tall branch with beautiful green-red leaves, from a farm nearby. This added some texture and volume to the installation. Inspired genda arrangements in all sizes of terracotta vases & pots adorned this beautiful house! For a pop of color, I’ve used deep red local celosia in small pockets throughout. ✨
