My Carrie Bradshaw inspired moments over the last 10 years on here ❤️ The fashion in SATC was so inspiring I loved some fashion moments in AJLT but they missed out on the cool dressed down looks. Anyway SATC is always there to rewatch, the fashion never looks dated and as 90s and 00s is back it couldn’t look more relevant. After a two year long wait and various remodels we have perfected our Top Gun Meg Ryan dress and it’s ready to launch fourinarowlondon this Saturday 16th August at 9am 🚀 It’s utterly beautiful, the fabric is a soft cotton madras in our very own uplifting check, the bodice is beautifully shaped and has a sheared panel at the back so it fits perfectly and so comfortably ❤️ The thin straps are super flattering and sit beautifully under a jacket be it a denim/suede jacket, a biker, a suede jacket or a tailored blazer. I couldn’t let the end of SATC and AJLT go by without a tribute to the biggest influence in my slightly more conservative fashion life Ms Carrie Bradshaw sarahjessicaparker 💫 I watched SATC avidly when it came out desperate to see each outfit…what would be paired with what and the shoes…oh the SHOES 😍 it was a ‘fashion disrupted’ moment by the incredibly talented patriciafield and sarahjessicaparker high end, vintage and preloved all thrown together to create iconic outfits episode after episode. But alongside that it was the friendship on the screen, women together going out and having a bl**dy great time, laughing and crying together but ultimately getting up and getting back at it with a lightness that seems to have gone from life. I have rewatched when I felt I needed fashion inspiration, when I couldn’t sleep, when I was pregnant, when I needed comfort and now rewatching with Jess ❤️ it was fun, frivolous, showed break ups and make ups - needed to be fast forwarded at times 🤣 It was the heavy dose of fun that life should be about. I was born in the 70s so love a good knotted shirt! This method of tying is a bit like a sailing knot but the overall look is better, it’s good to avoid the bulk of tucking a big shirt into jeans or shorts and it doesn’t ride up about my tummy! We are off on our summer holiday soon and I always need to look back to see what I normally wear on holiday! As it’s getting warm this week and we ‘May’ be wearing shorts I thought I would share how I style them 🙌🏻 these are my thoughts when buying and styling them: ☀️ I always size up at least one size in denim shorts for a non-tight slouchy fit. I look for a wide leg opening as it’s flattering on my thighs. ☀️ I wear them with low fronted strappy sandals I avoid any ankle straps or shoes that are too high as they cut off my legs making them appear shorter and at 5ft3 I do all I can to look taller! ☀️ I tend to avoid tight tops as they cling around my middle so a floaty top is my preference as it is comfortable and adds a girly more dressed up to look to distressed denim shorts. ☀️to balance out proportions I opt for a mid to large shoulder bag, a smaller bag gets lost and the cross body cuts across my middle sitting on my tummy rather than working to streamline my silhouette like the shoulder basket bag * as with all things this is just what I do when I get dressed different things work for different people and everyone is free to dress as they choose!
