Another update that I’ve been sitting on for the last six months is finally here!

UGC is a business and as UGC creators you are business owners 

Your communication skills is what’s going to set you  apart positively or negatively when it comes to maintaining good relationships with brands and agencies

You could be the best creator out there but if your communication skills are poor, you will not be the go to creator for all of these brands and agencies

So if you want to continue to have UGC as a consistent source of income, you have to treat it with the same level of professionalism as you would do any business,

Honestly in 2025, there really is no excuse to still be seeing some of these mistakes in content - poor video quality, product label reading back to front, poor hooks, poor storytelling, videos that fall flat on the engaging part etc 

Also to stand out as a UGC creator, you should be learning about and implementing content style that’s currently performing because trust me, things evolve and change and that applies to content creation

Babes, just be real with yourself, if you watch your own piece of content and you are not engaged by it then you need to reshoot because if you’re bored and it’s not engaging and it’s not captivating enough or he quality is poor, it’s not going convert

If you look at it from a consumer perspective, Will you click through to watch the rest of that piece of content? and then click through to whatever product it is that they are talking about?  if the answer is no then go back to the drawing board and reshoot because like I said in my previous video, what brands want is return on investment and if they’re not getting that from your content because it’s not engaging enough and the quality is poor, You won’t be getting UGC deals and that’s just facts! 2025-01-22 20:36:53 Babes, ju.. 19 -16% 5 +30%

To get what you want, you have to put in the work 
Brands don’t have an endless pit of budget so they need to see a return on investment and if your videos are great quality, it’s not engaging or converting, then you won’t get very far. 

I need to be firm but fair. I see way too many portfolios or UGC examples that are simply not good enough and i immediately scroll on when sourcing for campaigns 

UGC is now very competitive in the UK, so to stand out, your content has to be good, period.

What I want this next event to be is packed full of workshops so you come away armed with practical skills on how to improve your content

It’s a very exciting area to start in and with the influx of so much information on UGC online, I want to try and narrow down to the specifics what you want to know about UGC
I’m in the process of planning something this year, especially for those who are new to UGC or you’ve been trying to gain more success and need more support and community. What I like to do, as they say, is “give the people what they want” To be a specific as possible so you get valuable information that you actually need support in.

More on the caveat- If you’re going to use your social platform as a way to showcase your work, your page needs to be just that 
As having personal content in addition to examples of your UGC content will be confusing so some creators choose to use their social platform as a means to show example of their work, campaign results etc 

But like I said in the video, you can have both a portfolio and your social platform with examples if you want to but it’s not exactly necessary 

Also if your social platform is SEO rich, you can increase the potential of brands finding you for campaign opportunities

Wellness can be an overused word but only as “wellness” means different things to different people

It would be absolutely anything that helps you switch off and regain mental strength. 
This could include going on a walk and that’s what we did 2 Saturdays ago. 

I hosted The Creative Collective 1st Wellness walk in London. A 3-4 hr walk through london. A very invigorating walk through some nature and quiet streets of London

What does this mean to you as a creator? 

Well, it’s a chance to not only see what brands you’d potentially like to pitch content to; from well established to upcoming brands, but this is a chance to get direct emails from the brand to which you can then go away and send you considered pitch over email (please don’t pitch on the spot; do a researched pitch proposal for better chance of success in booking a campaign with said brand)

Now to add, some brands may or may not have someone from their social media team there, but you can at least get an email from an internal team member who can them point you in the direction of the relevant contact

All in all, it’s a great opportunity, plus it’s FREE to attend and you save hours trying to find the relevant contacts online

Okay so you’ve decided you want to be a UGC creator and have “UGC creator” in your profile. Now time to land opportunities, but your social media presence does not read like your visual CV?! 

Listen, doing trend content, or posting about your cat is all well and fun but won’t cut it. 
Nowadays, most agencies or brands sourcing for UGC creators approach you based on what you’re posting on your social media page and won’t necessarily look for or ask to see a portfolio. So if only posting trending content etc, how are you showing off your skillset IF you want to land UGC jobs based on your content 

No I’m not saying every single one of your post should be a UGC example, but if you’re wanting to use your platform to attract UGC opportunities, then at least 80% of your content should showcase your skills. 

So pick one of your platforms, IG or TT (does not need to be both; let’s not encourage burnout) 
and showcase your UGC skillset via chosen platform
