![Last week I had the privilege of being welcomed by changaneurope for the official UK launch of their Changan Deepal S07.
Believe it or not, this was my first time behind the wheel of an EV, and I was taken aback by the level of design, quality, and clever gadgets throughout.
The Changan Deepal S07 was designed in Turin, and a few features really stood out to me. The sunflower screen pivots seamlessly between driver, idle, or passenger, the wireless charger has its own cooling grill, a thoughtful touch given how easily phones overheat, and the ride comfort was otherworldly; at times, I even aimed for the bumps and potholes just to see how it would cope. Hats off to the engineers, because this car somehow makes UK roads feel drivable.
I also played around with the different driving modes. While it is not going to break records for acceleration or top speed, the Changan Deepal S07 feels perfectly suited to daily life, and it left me curious about what Changan will bring to the UK in the years ahead.

I was expecting to have the break-in miles under my belt much sooner than this, but for one reason or another (mainly my wedding), I couldn’t get out on the Sport Pro as much as I had hoped.
Now they’re done, I’ve handed my pride and joy over to the gents at ducatialton for its first service and a few other tweaks that we won’t talk about 😫
I can’t wait to have her back and finally unleash all that power. Keeping the revs under 6K has been a challenge, but all that will change.

![Formula E or bumper cars?
On Sunday, I had my first taste of Formula E after being kindly invited to London ExCeL to watch the final race of the season with cupra_uk.
I had no idea what to expect, but as soon as the race started, I was hooked. These drivers do not hold back. Between the constant wheel-to-wheel battles and the amount of carbon fibre flying through the air, it was chaos in the best way. A pretty hefty crash happened right in front of us too, which added to the drama.
The track runs both inside and outside the venue, which is surreal to watch. We also had the chance to walk through the paddock and see the cars up close, which was a brilliant way to round off the season.
I will definitely be keeping an eye on next year’s calendar.

![Goodwood FoS in 20 slides.
Last year, I had the nerve-rattling privilege of riding up the hill, not once but twice, on two incredible machines: the Norton Commando 961 and the Triumph Thruxton FE. Two manufacturers, two hill runs, and one very anxious rider.
This year felt like a different kind of thrill. On Friday, mclarenauto welcomed me with generous hospitality. It was a real treat to see the supercar lineage side by side, from the iconic F1 to the P1, and now the breathtakingly spectacular W1.
By Sunday, I was strapped into a lotuscars Emira Cup car and then the ferocious maserati MC20 GT2 Stradale, experiencing the hill as a passenger. There is something deeply surreal about being harnessed into a machine built for the track, with a professional driver at the wheel, and watching the world blur past as you climb that iconic hill.
Enormous thanks to McLaren, Lotus and Maserati for the experiences and the memories.

![There’s something special about the CCM Spitfire Bobber. Light, playful, and full of character. It rides like a 125cc on steroids, and I mean that in the best possible way. Agile, punchy, and just plain fun. It's one of those bikes that makes you smile without needing to show off.
Earlier this year at the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, I was pleasantly surprised to see several CCMs out in the wild. I’ve said it before; you never see them on the road… and then DGR rolls around, and suddenly, they all appear as if summoned for the occasion. It was fantastic to see.
That’s why it felt all the more bittersweet hearing that CCM has gone into administration. CCM is a British brand that poured real heart into every bike it made. The craftsmanship, the individuality, the joy of riding something a little offbeat… it all meant something.
Fingers crossed, this isn’t the end of the road for them.
