- 🍂✨ Fall day trips from NYC don’t get better than Tarrytown + Sleepy Hollow! Follow theadeolacrown for more day trip ideas from NYC! Just a quick 51-minute mtametronorth train ride from Grand Central, and you’re in one of the most charming towns to explore in autumn. The entire Main Street gets decked out for fall and Halloween, making it one of my favorite seasonal escapes. 🎃👻 I always start at Bella’s Boutique for unique antique finds and stop by theswanshouse for hidden gems. Then it’s a short walk into Sleepy Hollow, famous for its spooky atmosphere and the legend of the Headless Horseman. If you’re lucky enough to visit during the street fair, you’ll find nearly 200 vendors with crafts, delicious cuisine, live music, and so much festive energy. Foodies—don’t miss the horsemanbagels or grab a cozy meal at horsefeathers Restaurant (a local favorite with amazing service). For a quick bite, I recommend tacosproject before catching the train back to NYC. For history lovers, make time to explore the Headless Horseman Bridge, the Old Dutch Church, and Washington Irving’s gravesite at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. It’s the ultimate fall adventure that blends food, history, and Halloween magic. 🍁 📍 How to get there: Take Metro North (Hudson Line) from Grand Central to Tarrytown Station (51 minutes). 💲 Street fair is free to attend, food + shopping prices vary. 🍂 Perfect for a fall getaway, date day, solo trip, or family adventure. Would you add this to your NYC fall bucket list? 🍁👻 #daytripfromnyc #nycdaytrips #nycdaytrip #travelcreator #metronorthrailroad #tarrytown #sleepyhollowny

- A perfect Day exploring New York City! Follow theadeolacrown for to do ideas in NYC and beyond. Brooklyn’s most underrated neighborhoods—Red Hook. First stop: widowjane Distillery — known for vaulting rare bourbons since 2011. You can take a behind-the-scenes distillery tour, do a whiskey tasting, or just grab a drink at their moody bar. Then I walked to Valentino Pier — one of the best free spots in Brooklyn for views of the Statue of Liberty and a peaceful waterfront vibe. Next up, a sweet classic: stevesauthentic Key Lime Pie. They’ve been making the best key lime pie in NYC for over 20 years, and YES it lives up to the hype. Popped into resiklonyc a beautifully curated luxury furniture consignment store featuring designer pieces and vintage finds. If you love interiors or hunting for one-of-a-kind pieces, this is a must. Then over to theredhookcidery Red Hook to try a glass of crisp, locally made New York cider for $15 — made with 100% NY apples. Right next door is strongropebrewery — $18 for a tasting flight and a beautiful view of New York Harbor. Laid-back, local, and delicious. Then I stopped at redhookwinery focused on sustainable wine and locally grown grapes. The $18 mixed flight gave me a little taste of everything, and the staff was super knowledgeable. Finally, dinner at barmariobk an intimate spot with amazing food, great cocktails, and even better vibes. Highly recommend the pasta.
