After lots of hugs, cuddles, conversations discussing the highs and lows of the last 2 months, intentions and goals for the school year ahead, sweet treat rituals and a meditation, the kids turned into bedtime. Bombay is where I connect most to myself. I see a before and after version of myself every time I come back home for a long visit during the dreamy + thoughtful monsoon time. Me and my Lotus Babies went in for this highly recommended Summer Holidays afternoon watch of the latest #howtotrainyourdragon and we were quite disappointed. It was boring and not up to the mark at all. The movie looks and seems a little outdated. Also, having seen it the very next day of watching the Super Brilliant and Catchy F1 the Film, the night before was not a good idea. We were still reeling from the high of F1 which this movie could just not match up to. The screenplay is poor. The movie could have been shorter and tighter. Overall an average watch. If you are a hardcore fan of the Books and Movie Series then you will pull through. Although you will find this film not doing it's best justice to the book. Such a sweet film. So beautifully handled. Never a dull moment throughout. So many lessons to learn. A light, breezy family watch and so funny at times. So encouraging. It reflects the realities of today's Indian Big City lives, loves and flaws. The weakest story is Sara Ali Khan (average acting and not looking good) and adityaroykapur Aditya Roy Kapur (he however is such a charmer 😍). It starts and it ends - without the blink of an eye. You will be so into it and you can actually feel like you are inside that F1 Car. Your heart will thump high. The best testimonial for this movie, I have 2 rather are: a) a person like me who has no head or tail about the racing world loved it & b) I had a friend join in just after she finished watching the very same movie, she called to tell me how fantastic the movie is and it's for everyone to watch. Tuesday Thoughts I have been in deep grief since Thursday. I understand death but the way this cross over has taken shape in this whole year so far has been very hard hitting and more intense emotions that what many us have ever experienced. Yes, we have to accept and surrender to Divine Will & Karma. But the way things are currently, we all will need some time to process the harsh ways of the Universe. We will have to build on our mental + emotional strength even more to move forward with grace. One thing I can say for the whole collective - something in us has been hurt, disturbed and moved. We will never be the same again. Let's go onwards from here, holding each other up+together and coming closer in the most important binding energy of LOVE. We are learning that life is too precious. We must see the bigger picture at all times, thus letting go the smaller stuff that is not bringing good vibes. What we have is NOW and let's make it the best ❣️. Based on my faith, this is my understanding of the theme of this intense year of 2025. This, according to me and my spiritual work is a message I have been called to share. #housefull5 is mindless, trashy and quite a shame in the name of Cinema. With this kind of a stellar starcast, one could work some mammoth magic but the opposite has happened and that's shocking. The talented and most senior actor Ranjeet has been wasted - he is such an aura on screen as are Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt. It's so trashy that me, my husband and a bunch of crazy friends made our trip to this movie entertaining by trashing those dumb jokes and laughing amongst ourselves. However, I would not encourage you to watch this movie because I don't want to support disrespectful movie making - they have completely objectified the women in this movie and as I was discussing with a cinephile friend geetuahuja today - we should not support anyone to spend their time and money on meaningless cinema. My husband and me binge watched this show. It's a bit trashy in the name of Royalty but you are still gonna watch it. It's not classy, it's rather crassy BUT to offset it's audible displeasure comes the immense, high sensory visual + physical appeal. Thanks to the recommendation of my friend, my husband and I went for this newly released #hindifilm to watch it on the big screen tonight. I felt at home at the movie theatres after so long. I am just out of the cinema - my soul feels numb, my heart feels proud and I have deep emotions surfacing (I visited the #jalianwalabagh in August last year. Those gun shot marks and the death wells are fresh in my mind). This movie is a must watch for every Indian (please don't take your children as it is too real). It is a K.Jo remixed, rehashed formula, fairy tale type of film. There is an audience of cinema obsessed people like me who will definitely watch it to understand how a movie can go wrong and yet would want to watch it to see the predictable, cheesy, rom-com, KJO style, visually appealing feels. It is a KJo formula film made for and adapted to the Gen Z but like the Generation audience itself, this movie lacks the deep connection and is very surface level. Dialogues seem like they are written in a hurry. It's a waste of a lot of talent and filmmaking. It is a let down especially because it comes from such a solid team. The lead pair are terrible and truly can't act. They both are so young and so raw so I am sure they will get better with practice and experiences ahead. I did get fascinated watching the unique casting coup of Suneil Shetty, Jugal Hansraj, Dia Mirza and Archana Puran Singh - they have performed to the best of their ability. Music is not catchy. A brilliant watch about the rich legacy of the Roshan family. It's nice how they have dedicated one episode per family member and their impact on the Indian Film Industry. My favourite day of the school year in UAE schools gotta be - #internationalday or as our school decided to call it this year World Cultures Day. A much awaited annual event which brings the city out on the streets on a crispy November Sunday morning. This was my and Little Lotus's first experience. Early morning good weather feels and being amidst a sea of green - a surreal moment when we are seeing this from the Dubai Metro windows as we are pulling into the starting point station. Seeing the Dubai Metro become a logistical help for a mammoth event like this is nothing short of seeing magic at work - for those few hours it was only had Dubai Run participants in there bringing them in from all over this city. And I say the same for the precision of organization I saw on the main Sheikh Zayed Road with multitudes of people out there - kudos to the Dubai government and the teams. The energy of people was so high strung. Everything spelt and screamed the collective's love for Dubai. There were people from so many nationalities, ages, teams, sports teams, corporate offices and groups showing their solidarity to their group as well as the city that day. It was nothing short of eclectic. It was a big party out there with music, entertainment and krisfade 's pumping, energetic voice. Papa Lotus came with us because he didn't want to send us alone, it was his first time too. We loved the energy and he didn't like it so much because he felt it was overcrowded. We learn to accept this perspective and for his company with us we said to him a Thank You 😃. But the biggest Thank You and Cheers goes out to this Mega City we have seen grow and we now call home. Dubai - we truly love you 💕 and that love was visible in the humongous turn out yesterday. In Dubai style, the biggest public run in the world, only getting bigger each year. Great Positive Vibes out there Dubai - just like YOU. This message of movement and fitness has become a coming together of the spirit of the city and has become a MOVEMENT of its own 💚. Great going Dubai. As you symbolically teach us, we those who live here, now have come to make this feeling our mantra - Have a vision and keep taking steps towards it.
