![While exploring Albania 🇦🇱, I came across one of the most beautiful hidden gems. It’s a place locals refer to as the “Thailand of Albania” because of the types of boats used here and the landscapes in this area.
The real name of this spot is Lumi I Shalës and It took me about 3 hours driving and a 1 hour ferry ride from the capital city of Tirana to get here.
The water might look beautiful but I spent only 35 seconds in it cuz it was feezing cold 🥶. Albania is not as popular when it comes to tourism in Europe so it’s was cool to finally visit and experience its beauty.

![When I first moved from Lagos to Lisbon, nobody told me how hard the little things would be. Simple tasks like buying groceries or getting on the right train suddenly felt like challenges — especially with the language barrier.
At first, it was exciting. Everything was new: the streets, the food, the people. But then reality set in.
I missed the small comforts from home — the food I grew up on (Eba, Amala, Ewedu, Pounded yam “not poundo”, the barber who knew my haircut without me saying a word 😭, even just the feeling of walking around and understanding what people were saying.
If you are single, it’s even worse cause dating and meeting new people becomes even more difficult. Dating apps are trash btw.
I felt like a child again, relearning life one step at a time. Setting up a bank account felt like a full-time job & finding a real community is taking longer than I thought.
And the loneliness? It crept in quietly, even in the middle of such a beautiful city.
But here’s the part nobody talks about: moving abroad forces you to grow in ways you never expected. You build resilience. You adapt. You discover parts of yourself you didn’t know were there and you begin to enjoy spending time alone.
Moving abroad isn’t just about changing countries — it’s about changing you. 🌍✨
