![Phoenix is getting unpalatable 🥵 so the secret menu called for a roadtrip to Sedona! (Granted, it still got up to 90F but still lol) If you’d have told me we’d end up HERE—see black arrow—I woulda 🤨🤨🤨 because it was a decent climb to that vantage point. And the drop off…no missteps please 😬
But by golly, whimsy ran the day and we hiked to “you’re an inspiration” level (according to some lost hikers we unknowingly helped back to their cars despite it being our first time hiking this trail too…thank you husky senses 🐺
Ended up seeing wild javelina in our Airbnb backyard, plus a chonky lizard, a bunny, and a few huge ravens before my boo grilled an award-winning steak dinner 🤤
The whole thing made me wonder why I live in Phoenix. But that’s a topic for another day 🤦🏼♀️

![I win zero awards for posting timely pictures on my IG 😂 but EDC Vegas was tops, so better late than never, eh? Leading up to the event, I always have oodles of fun making kandi (bracelets) to trade…pretty sure this traces back to making SWAPS in Girl Scouts 🤭 Then there’s the planning out / executing my outfits and makeup while blasting music in the hotel from all the artists we’re most excited to see. ![Today I finally went out to a plant nursery in Phoenix to get myself a new “mama bear” pothos plant. (Story time)
It’s a bittersweet moment because I miss all 50+ plant babies I had to leave behind in Mexico—they might be “just plants” to some people but it took me over two years to grow my plant family (plant army, really lol) and they brought me immeasurable joy. 🌱💚
But alas, sometimes letting go of things is necessary to embrace new chapters in life and so here I am today taking cuttings off of Neon Mama—apparently there’s a variety of Pothos called neon…hence the almost glow-in-the-dark looking leaves—and propagating some new water babies in the handful of special glass bottles I was able to bring back in my suitcases.
Time to start my new Phoenix family and hope the scorching summers don’t wipe them out 😅
P.S. Talk about sticker shock. My OG Mama Bear (which was probably 3x’s the size of this lil lady) cost 60 pesos, aka about $3 USD. This one cost $18.40 USD so excuse me while I go water it with my tears lol 😂

![My birthday month was such a fantabulous whirlwind, I barely had a spare moment to think about sharing any of it. I normally record videos when I travel but here are a few pics I snapped on my first-ever solo Vegas trip. Wasn’t sure if I’d like going alone but holy shiz I LOVED IT…
I called all the shots, got birthday freebies, checked off a Vegas bucket list item of mine and played Craps for the first time (won buckets 🤑), explored all over the strip, met some super cool people (including an unexpectedly awesome someone who will be joining me for another vegas trip pronto), ate some delicious food, indulged in tasty cocktails, soaked in the panoramic view from my room, and left on Cloud 9!
…Well, until I realized I was way too tired to safely drive back to Phoenix at night and had to stay in a somewhat sketchy motel on the way back 🙈 Oops lol. All part of the many adventures during “the birthday month that topped all other birthday months.”

![This month has been nothing short of a roller coaster thrown in a blender 😵💫 Haven’t had a spare second to breathe or think in weeks.
It feels so bittersweet to be on a plane leaving Mexico (although not for good) and moving back to Phoenix. It’s impossible to know if this was the right decision, but what I do know for sure is that l need to be around my family right now.
P.S. I’m hoping to be back on YouTube soon but for probably-obvious reasons (the move, dad’s open heart surgery/complications, etc) my attention has been necessary elsewhere.

![Last year when I lived in Guadalajara, I bought a Pothos plant for 60 pesos (about $3 USD). Now I can safely say that it’s one of the *best* purchases I’ve ever made. After propagating it for a year, I have a massive “plant baby” army of 40+ in various glass bottles that has basically taken over my house Jumanji style lol. Those three little dollars have brought me more joy than any expensive brand-name-whatever-the-heck ever could 🥰
Well, because of border protection laws, unfortunately I can’t take any of them with me to Phoenix 🥺 So while there are a lot of things I’m going to miss about my life in Mexico, my little plantitas are very high on the list 🌱💛 Had to do this post for the memories.

I’m so grateful my friend Ivett lolaymoya invited me to her family’s town (Santa Maria Mixtequilla) for this annual celebration. It’s an experience I just could *not* have had on my own…and one very few people will ever have honestly, which is why I’m so excited to share the video I made of the week-long festivities.
The video is going to take a while to put together but I’m hoping to have it out on Friday. Before that, I’ll be releasing my first-ever Reel/Short on how the heck I got there because oof 😮💨 It took over 12 hours and it wasn’t easy:
Uber > Bus > Plane > Taxi > Colectivo > Taxi… ☠️☠️☠️
Anyway, I almost forgot to mention this pic…I got my hair and makeup done by someone in town for 125 pesos with real flowers and beautiful ribbons braided in. Ivett’s family lent me gold jewelry and the beautiful outfit so I could not only see all the magic but be an integrated part of it 🥰✨ Core memory right here!!!

![In my last Riviera Maya vlog, I attempted to pull off a surprise visit to Ivett, one of my most cherished friends who I met when I moved to Puerto Morelos in 2018. (She’s the lady boss behind one of my favorite restaurants in Mexico lolaymoya)
Anyway, back to the surprise. I had traveled from Jalisco to Quintana Roo for a week and that was the only day I could make it out to Puerto Morelos. Unfortunately one of her dogs was deathly sick so she was with him at a vet in Cancun. Thankfully he is better now ❤️🩹
Well, I couldn’t let that be the end of it, so I planned another trip to the area for a 2nd attempt. And Surprise Mission #2 was a success!!! 🙌 Yeiii!!!
Also, remember how I bought a Lola & Moya t-shirt last time? Of course I had to wear it for the surprise and look who unknowingly put on the same thing?! 🤩
We chatted for hours and hours until eventually I headed back to Playa del Carmen where I’m staying, feeling like I couldn’t have asked for a better day! 💛
