Ahhh, the Gobi... It took me 4 years to do a proper visit to the most beautiful places in this vast desert. And who would have known that would be my last adventure in this country... The feeling of being a tiny speck in the inmensity of the Gobi is just special, for lack of a better word. Naadam in Mongolia: Being able to witness a race during Naadam in a local soum was one of a kind experience that I will never forget. So I bought my husband one for Christmas. (In my defense I'll say he was the one doing do selfies all the time, only he didn't think selfie sticks were his thing). I haven't seen them in a while, seems like they were a fad... We are back to selfies at one arms length... Anyway, in this trip to Nepal we (I) took the selfie stick and used it a lot. When we used to live in Utah -2 countries ago- I had the chance to travel to Mexico and I was amazed at the many places one could explore beyond the walls of the beach resort. We stayed at a fancy all inclusive beach hotel but we also hired a car and drove around for 3 days. I knew I wanted to see Chichen Itza, but what I didn't know is that there were other aweome Mayan ruins in the surrounding area. I have been trying to retrieve pics from my phone for the last couple of years, and I can only find myself in Mongolia and not travel much at all 😆. It makes sense, though. Spring in Mongolia is, in a way, more annoying than winter. The weather is so changing that you never know what kind of clothes you need when you leave the house. In this video, there had been a snowstorm right after a few warm and sunny days.
