- If you’ve never had Persian/Iranian food, this is your sign to change that. As a Persian, these are a few of my favorite spots in NYC. I used to default to kabobs whenever eating out, (and ravaghpersiangrill is still a go-to) but the others have definitely expanded things for me in the best way. Among other things, ghormeh sabzi and chicken at eyval_brooklyn are something special, and that pomegranate beef ribeye from sofreh_brooklyn ? Unreal. And no matter what, we’re always getting the bread with mast-o-musir (yogurt shallot dip). A must. Always. More below on what to order: - ravaghpersiangrill – mast-o-musir and babaganouj to start, kabobs (of course), and a side of raw onion to eat with them (onion is extra $ now 🙄) - eyval_brooklyn – you can’t miss here. I’ve basically had the whole menu. Musts to start: kashk bademjoon (eggplant whey dip), their barbari bread, and the ribs - sofrehbk – traditional classics done beautifully. Go for the: kashk bademjoon, stews, the tahini & date salad. But that pomegranate beef ribeye still lives in my head rent-free - 👆🏻their day time cafe. go for the piroshki and sweets - nasrinskitchenresturant – traditional classics also. Go for the dips like the others, plus a good mix of kabobs and stews And if you’re doing it right, you’ll save room to end the meal with some chai and bastani sonnati, aka Persian saffron, rose + pistachio ice cream. If you’ve been to any of these or have other favorites, drop them below! I’m always down to add to the rotation 😋✨#sohaeatsnyc
- An insane 24 layer birthday cake and some of the best mac and cheese in the city maisonpickle 😌 we also got the pull apart garlic and Parmesan bread, Caesar salad (not pictured) and the patty melt - she was THICC and massive (added fries). The birthday cake was insane. We barely made a dent but as a bday cake lover tho, would def get the chocolate layered cake next time. #sohaeatsnyc
