- I keep seeing “recession indicator” under every post that shows anything remotely 2000s coded and while we’re not in a recession, we’re in the midst of an idk if I can afford my rent era. 💸 While many aren’t affected by this (smart investors, nepo babies, etc.) many consumers are. And the ones who technically aren’t “affected” in a negative way are noticing the price increases. Coffee is $7 a pop, groceries are an average $150+ for 2 people (I’m being generous), and shipping costs/tariffs are having many ghost their carts. A lot of businesses are eating tariff costs, or finding alternative ways to gain their customer/clients loyalty and reverting back to nostalgia and comfort.. The best example I’ve seen so far? The All-American Rejects. Saying f-you to Ticketmaster price gouging tickets. They’re playing house parties for $5 entry fee. A trip back to the 2000s movies we used to watch for less than a coffee today. The lead singer told one of the crowds at a bowling alley, “thank you for supporting a rock band that actually gives a shit about the common man.” He has also mentioned he isn’t there to sell you Coachella tickets or $25 parking, just good music. The thing is, people aren’t just “not buying,” our brains don’t work that way. But people are figuring out what is worth it because they can’t buy as much as they could before. They buy from brands who get it. Who shift in economic times, makes it worth it for the customer where they feel like they’re a PART of something. Have you seen any recession indicator posts? Or any brands shifting their messaging/offers? 👀
- DAY 74 IS COMPLETE ✨ Today is day 75 and I can’t wait to cross the finish line!! I honestly can not believe these 75 days went by so quick. I couldn’t have done it without all of the encouragement of you guys 🥹🤍🫶 This challenge has definitely taught me to stop making excuses for myself and pouring into my cup. I’ve learned so much from the finance books I’ve read and Atomic habits. I will say that working out daily for 75 days HAS bloated me. I’m not sure if it’s a mix of the insane amounts of water I’m drinking or inflammation from workouts but I am excited to let my body rest this weekend & next weekend 🧘♀️ #minivlog #healthyhabits #personalbrand #75hard #75hardchallenge #75hardprogram
