AESOP Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Mist Review 🖤

Hand sanitiser isn’t exactly the sexiest of topics, but leave it to aesop to make something as practical as hygiene feel chic. Their Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Mist is one of those products that turns a necessary evil into a small luxury and frankly, I can’t imagine being without it now.

I first came across it after a particularly grimy trip on the Tube, when the thought of touching anything else made me wince. I ducked into an Aesop store to sneak a quick wash, and instead, a sales assistant (to whom I will be forever grateful) suggested I try this.

This is an alcohol-based spray, so it does the job of purifying hands when you’re miles away from soap and water, but it’s far less brutal than the bog standard sanitisers we’ve all been through in recent years. Thanks to aloe vera and saccharide isomerate, it cleans without leaving the skin tight, flaky, or the cuticles wrecked. I wouldn’t go as far as to call it hydrating, but crucially, it doesn’t dehydrate either which is more than can be said for 90% of its competition.

The fragrance, though, is what really sells it. Woody, citrusy, herby and properly grownup, it smells like something you’d happily wear as a cologne. I’ve had people in the office comment on it, asking what perfume I’d just sprayed, only to be astonished when I revealed it was a hand sanitiser.

The packaging, too, is as practical as it is stylish. A fine mist in a sturdy little bottle, it’s the sort of thing you can pull out on a packed train or in a grotty public loo without attracting stares. And frankly, it comes into its own in those moments we’ve all had when someone breezes out of a cubicle without bothering to wash their hands. A quick mist of this and you’re spared the horror.

It’s a small, fragrant saver, something I feel is worth the £13 it code and something I’ll always keep in my bag. 2025-10-08 17:48:53 .. 18 +100% 7 -91%
Retinoid & Peptide Evening Routine 🤍

Peptides and retinoids are the skincare equivalent of a great double act. Here’s the routine I’ve been leaning on.

theordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser
An absolute bargain, but one that easily rivals formulas two or three times the price. It does the job in a single cleanse without stripping or leaving skin tight. The glycolipid base is plant-derived, kind to skin, and respects its natural pH. It’s simple, straightforward, and exactly what a cleanser should be.

katesomervilleskincare KateCeuticals Firming Serum
This range is excellent across the board, but the serum is exceptionally good. A Tri-Peptide and Hyaluronic Acid Complex softens fine lines and even has a crack at deeper wrinkles, while botanical extracts give that extra plumping, smoothing effect. It makes skin look healthier and feel more resilient. Basically, it’s peptides done properly, and it shows.

geekandgorgeous.uk A-Game 20*
Geek & Gorgeous is one of those rare brands that consistently delivers, and this serum is no exception. Retinaldehyde is one step closer to prescription retinoic acid, which means it’s potent but still tolerable for most skin types. This silky, lightweight serum is as strong as highend equivalents that cost twice the price, if not more. At £21.95, it’s one of the best-value retinoids available, hands down.

katesomervilleskincare +Retinol Firming Eye Cream
Eyes often get overlooked, but I find this one genuinely helpful. It firms, brightens, and hydrates, while the metal applicator cools and de-puffs tired eyes. More importantly, it’s strong enough to tackle fine lines without being harsh, which makes it rare and worth every squeeze.

katesomervilleskincare DeliKate Recovery Cream*
Yes, it’s another Kate Somerville product, but this one is indispensable when retinoids are involved. Rich without being greasy, soothing without being basic, it’s packed with ceramides and a peptide complex that helps to calm and strengthen the barrier. On nights when skin feels prickly or reactive, this cream restores balance and makes everything feel cushioned again.

Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath Review 🤍

elemis_uki does indulgence better than almost anyone. The textures, the scents, the sheer feeling of comfort baked into its best products are hard to match, and for me, the Skin Nourishing range is the epitome of that. The Milk Bath is one of those quiet little luxuries I save for when the weather turns and life feels a bit too sharp around the edges.

First things first, this is not a bubble bath. If your idea of bliss is a mountain of froth and the sort of suds you could lose a toddler in, you’ll be disappointed here. This is a bath crème. A velvety, creamy liquid that turns hot water into a soft, opaque soak. It doesn’t froth much, it just gently envelops skin in something that feels soothing and restorative from the minute you sink into it.

The formula is powered by milk protein, Japanese camellia oil and oat extract, all known for their ability to nourish, calm and condition. The result is that you step out of the bath feeling moisturised rather than parched. There’s no frantic reach for the body lotion required. In fact, your skin is left silky and supple, lightly scented with that wonderfully nostalgic Skin Nourishing aroma (part clean laundry, part baby lotion, part soft floral). It’s comfort in a bottle, really warm, cocooning, endlessly reassuring.

I was surprised to learn that you can also use this on the scalp and hair, and though I can’t yet vouch for its smoothing claims there, I can easily imagine the formula lending itself to that use. If nothing else, it would leave hair and body faintly scented with that addictive, gentle fragrance.

Would I say it’s essential? Of course not. But skincare and bodycare aren’t just about essentials, they’re about ritual, about how something makes you feel at the end of a long day. And for me, this feels a little like a hug in liquid form.

If you want pure utility, Radox or Dove will do just fine. But if if you’re tempted by a bit of indulgent luxury, you can currently get 20% off at elemis.com with the code ELEMIS206RCX (affiliate code). 2025-10-03 17:53:25 .. 0 - 86 +6%
September Empties ♻️🗑️

❤️ – Already Repurchased
😍 – Would Repurchase
😢 – Not For Me

😢 sundayriley Aquamarine Melt Hydrating Gel-Balm Cleanser
Full review coming soon, but for now I’ll say this wasn’t love at first cleanse.

😍 larocheposay Anthelios UVMune 400 SPF50*
An utter classic and, frankly, a benchmark for all high street sunscreens. Lightweight, invisible, non-greasy. If you’re looking for an SPF that disappears on the skin while offering superb protection, this is it.

😍 theinkeylist Hydro-Surge Dewy Face Mist*
Review coming, but here’s the spoiler: The Inkey List’s first foray into mists was worth the wait.

😍 charlottetilbury Magic Serum
I usually roll my eyes at the “magic” branding, but this serum genuinely did something lovely to my face. Dewy, plump, properly hydrated skin in minutes. A brilliant option when you want to look alive and luminous fast.

😍 katesomervilleskincare PeptideK8*
Skin looks healthier, firmer and just… better. It’s not as nourishing as the Total Repair Cream (my personal pick for drier complexions), but this is still a stellar formula that straddles moisturiser and serum territory.

😍 institut_esthederm_uki Intensive Vitamin E Serum
I’ve written about this in more depth recently, but suffice to say it’s a skin-soother. Calms flare-ups, reduces redness, and leaves skin tone looking more even and less frazzled.

❤️ katesomervilleskincare HydraKate Illuminating SPF50 Drops*
A joy. Protects like a mineral sunscreen should but feels more like skincare, with a luminous finish that makes your complexion look plump and juicy rather than chalky or dull.

❤️ katesomervilleskincare Goat Milk Cleanser*
One of my absolute ride-or-dies. The cleanser I trust when my skin feels dry, tight or just generally out of sorts. Creamy, comforting, smells beautiful, and leaves skin soft and happy. I cannot be without it.

❤️ trinnylondon Bounce Back Intense Peptide Moisturiser
I keep coming back to this, it’s that good. Perfect for dry skin, yet never heavy, with a velvety finish and a gorgeous scent. Each time I use it, my skin looks more rested, plumper, and generally more healthy.

The Two Inkey List Products Perfect for Autumn Skin 🍂 (AD/PR)

As the temperature dips and the air turns crisp, our skin often needs a little extra TLC. Dryness, tightness, and irritation can creep in, and that’s when it pays to adjust your routine. Enter two of my current favourites from theinkeylist: the Ectoin Hydro-Barrier Serum and the Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing & Plumping Moisturiser which are both designed to keep your skin hydrated, protected, and resilient as we head into the cooler months.

🍂 Hydro-Barrier Serum
This is the serum you reach for when your skin is feeling stressed, parched, or in need of some TLC. Ectoin, at 2%, acts like a natural shield, helping the skin retain moisture and calm irritation caused by environmental aggressors. Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Acid works from the outside in, replenishing hydration and reinforcing the skin’s barrier. The texture is silky, lightweight, and non-tacky, perfect for layering under your moisturiser or makeup. I use it both morning and night, and it instantly leaves skin feeling soft, plumped, and comfortable.

🍂 Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser
This is where things get indulgent. Rich, velvety, and packed with next-gen Bio-Active Ceramides, this moisturiser targets fine lines, loss of firmness, elasticity, and barrier strength. Gransil Blur gives an instant soft-focus effect, while Shea Butter nourishes and locks in moisture for 24 hours. Despite its luxurious, cushiony texture, it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, just deeply comforting. I apply it morning and night, over serums, and my skin feels smoother, stronger, and visibly more resilient.

Autumn can be a tricky season for the skin, but having the right hydration and barrier support can make all the difference. Between the Ectoin Hydro-Barrier Serum and the Bio-Active Ceramide Moisturiser, you get a perfect combination of lightweight, calming hydration and rich, restorative nourishment. Together, they leave skin feeling protected, plumped, and ready to face the cooler months without the tight, dry, or irritated feeling that so often comes with the season. 2025-09-28 13:03:51 The Two In.. 0 - 105 +30%
YSL Myslf L’Absolu Parfum Review 🩶 (AD/PR)

There are fragrances that feel niche, daring, and perhaps a little challenging, and then there are those that feel like they could live happily on almost anyone. The new Myslf L’Absolu Parfum from yslbeauty falls firmly into the latter camp. It’s polished, appealing, and easy to wear, which is exactly what you want from a fragrance that bills itself as a modern classic for men.

The brand calls it an “intensified woody floral tension”. But strip it back and you have a handsome composition of sparkling citrus and spice, smoothed with florals and grounded in woods. It opens with a beautiful freshness of bergamot, cardamom and ginger that feel uplifting and bright without being too sharp. Then comes the orange blossom which smells richer and more intense than most, thanks to the Scent Trek accord sourced from YSL’s own gardens.

Don’t be put off by the word floral. This isn’t in the least bit powdery or feminine. Here it acts as a softener, smoothing the edges of the spice and adding a little sophistication. The base is all about patchouli which I find warm, woody, a touch smoky. It’s just masculine enough without straying into the heavy aftershave territory of the 90s.

On the skin, it wears close and I’d say the projection is moderate. It’ll be noticeable to those near you but not the sort of thing to announce your arrival from across the room. The longevity could be better. I find it clings nicely until lunchtime before I feel the need for a re-spray. But then, this is a parfum, not a nuclear sillage monster, and I think it suits the personality of the scent to be a little more understated.

Ultimately, this is a very good allrounder. It’s warm, smooth, a touch musky, with just enough citrus and spice to keep things interesting. It feels seasonless but particularly lovely for autumn, when woody notes always feel right. This is the kind of scent that’s a crowd pleaser. If you want a failsafe gift, or a fragrance that’s versatile enough for both office and evening, this is a pretty solid bet. 2025-09-26 14:13:41 .. 0 - 79 -3%
Seoulista Beauty Cryo Cool Skin Tool Review ❄️ (AD/PR)

It hadn’t really occurred to me how much I was using the seoulista_beauty Cryo Cool Skin Tool until recently. I was prepping for a night out-out where I’d stepped out of a steaming shower, face flushed and skin feeling slightly tender from a fresh shave, and instinctively reached for it. No deliberation, no second-guessing - I simply knew it would calm everything down, leaving my complexion cooler, calmer, and generally more presentable before heading out for the evening.

This clever little gadget is designed to cool the skin, soothing irritation, reducing puffiness, and tightening the appearance of pores. It also promises to improve circulation by constricting blood vessels on contact, encouraging a rush of fresh, nutrient-rich blood to the skin’s surface. It’s a lovely way to fake a glow, especially when you’re not feeling particularly luminous. The thick aluminium plates stay cool to the touch - even at room temperature - which makes it brilliant for depuffing groggy morning skin or calming post-workout redness.

One particularly smart feature is its compatibility with Seoulista’s Super Serums. The dispensing nozzle for each serum screw directly into the Cryo Cool Tool’s base, letting you massage the serum into your skin as you roll, ensuring deeper absorption. There are currently three serum options - hydrating, brightening, and calming - so you can tailor your routine to your skin’s whims.

If you don’t have the Seoulista Serums to use alongside it, there’s no need to fret - you can simply use one of your own serums. The tool comes with an interchangeable handle, which you can slot into the place where you normally insert the Seoulista Serums, meaning you’re not solely reliant on using their serums to use this tool.

While I love the cooling plate, its flat shape doesn’t always play nicely with the contours of the face. You’ll need to adjust a little to hit trickier spots, like around the nose or jawline, but it’s a minor gripe in an otherwise versatile tool. 2025-09-24 13:03:20 .. 0 - 102 +26%
Vieve Skin Nova Instant Radiance Primer Review 💛 (AD/PR)

vievemuse Skin Nova is a multi-tasking hybrid primer that truly blurs the line between skincare and makeup. In a few swipes, it instantly brightens, hydrates, and plumps the skin, making it a lifesaver on mornings when you’ve had far too little sleep.

Created by Jamie Genevieve, the formula combines skincare superstars with glow-boosting pigments. Beta-glucan to soothe and deeply hydrate, Niacinamide to even out skin tone, rose water to calm, and orchid extract to reduce the look of fine lines and texture.

The texture is soft, creamy, and almost iridescent. It has a delicate gold sheen that glides effortlessly onto the skin without feeling sticky or heavy. Despite its glow, it never looks glittery or artificial. Instead, it leaves a natural, lit-from-within radiance that makes your skin look healthy, plump, and rested. Sensitive, dehydrated, or combination skin types will all appreciate how gentle yet effective it is.

I love that it’s so versatile. You can wear it alone for a fresh-faced glow (my personal choice) or layer it under foundation for a luminous base, or mix it with other products to boost their radiance. Unlike many primers, it doesn’t interfere with your skincare base, iit simply enhances the natural glow of your skin while adding hydration and comfort.

Skin Nova has quickly become a daily staple in my routine. Even on the most sleep deprived mornings, it creates a polished, radiant look in seconds, proving that a primer can be both look great and be functional. If you’re after effortless glow with skin benefits, this is one to try. 2025-09-21 13:52:36 Vieve Skin Nov.. 0 - 101 +25%
🆕 Dermalogica Neurotouch Symmetry Serum 🩶 (AD/PR)

Let me introduce you to Neurotouch Symmertry serum, the latest launch from dermalogicauk .

Described as a “sculpting facial oil serum”, it blends neurotechnology with a cocktail of biomimetic botanicals to help visibly restore natural facial symmetry and deliver a more lifted look. To complement the product, Dermalogica has even created a sculpting routine to follow along with. This is essentially a beautifully mindful facial massage, complete with lymphatic drainage techniques, that turns application into a few minutes of selfcare.

The formula itself is impressively loaded. It’s got adaptogenic botanicals, a biomimetic hexapeptide, and CoQ10 which is a brilliant antioxidant known for its skin firming benefits. This is all wrapped up in a calming aromachology blend that makes it smell deliciously grounding and earthy. There’s bioengineered Bacillus Ferment to support lifting and sculpting, Winged Kelp to help firm, and Rosewood Extract to encourage contour definition. To keep skin strong and supple, squalane and nutrient-rich oils work to bolster the moisture barrier.

The texture is exactly what I want from something calling itself an oil-serum hybrid. It’s deeply nourishing with just enough slip for a massage, but without that greasy, heavy feel that puts so many people off facial oils. It sinks in beautifully, leaves skin instantly softer and smoother, and feels like a proper drink for parched complexions.

It’s worth saying that, as with most “lifting” products, the results are subtle. You’re not getting a facelift level transformation here. But between the thoughtfully formulated serum and the sculpting routine, you can expect skin that looks refreshed, more defined, and significantly less puffy, which is great in itself.

What I really love is the way this product encourages us to slow down. Taking five minutes to massage your face, work on lymphatic drainage, and breathe in that grounding scent. It encourages you to feel like you’ve truly looked after yourself, not just slapped on another step in your routine. 2025-09-16 20:19:46 .. 0 - 94 +16%
Four E45 Products I’m Loving 💙 (AD/PR)

We all know e45_uk for that iconic white tub of cream that’s been sitting in British bathroom cabinets for decades. But if you’ve only ever reached for their classic cream when your shins are flaking or you’ve got a stubborn dry patch, you might be missing out. E45 has a whole lineup of seriously underrated skincare which, as you’d expect, is all gentle, frankly brilliant, and properly affordable.

🩵 Daily Care Hydrating Lotion Spray
This is your lazy body moisturiser, and I mean that as the highest compliment. A light misting and your entire body is soft and comfortable before you’ve even had a chance to get bored and wander off. It’s fragrance free, absorbs in seconds, and doesn’t leave you sticking to your clothes. Perfect for anyone with dry, sensitive or eczema-prone skin who wants hydration without faff.

🤍 Face Hydrating Serum
If your face is crying out for moisture but you hate heavy, gloopy serums, this is the one to try. It’s featherlight, sinks in immediately, and yet somehow manages to keep skin feeling plump and hydrated for hours thanks to a clever mix of hyaluronic acid, microalgae and sea water. Great under makeup, great on bare skin, great full stop.

💛 Face Daily Protect SPF 30
This is an everyday moisturiser with SPF that doesn’t feel like SPF. No stickiness and no dreaded white cast. It hydrates beautifully, gives a mild sheen, and protects against UVA and UVB rays. If you’ve been meaning to take your daily SPF habit seriously, this is an easy place to start.

☀️ Sun Care Kids & Baby Sensitive Spray SPF 50+
The fine mist spray makes application fast and drama free (a significant win if you have a toddler), and it’s gentle enough for the most sensitive skin. Bonus: the avocado oil in the formula keeps skin from drying out in the sun, which means less post-beach crankiness. Though aimed at kids, it’s also great for us adults.

E45 will never be the flashiest brand on your bathroom shelf, but that’s kind of the point. It’s reliable, sensibly priced, dermatologist backed skincare that does its job.

🆕 Kate Somerville HydraKate Power Plumping Primer & Pro-Collagen Lip Oil Elixir 🩵 (AD/PR)

It’s no secret that katesomervilleskincare is one of my all time favourite skincare brands. When they launch something new, I’m first in line, sleeves rolled up and face at the ready. The HydraKate range in particular is a personal favourite with the cream and serum have been staples in my routine since launch, repeatedly emptied because they work, plain and simple.

This month, the range expands with two new launches, both aimed squarely at those of us who want skin to look fresh, hydrated and plumped, whether we wear makeup or not.

🩵 HydraKate Power Plumping Primer
This is billed as a 3-in-1 serum, moisturiser, and primer and it does all three roles with ease. It uses seven sizes of hyaluronic acid to deliver hydration at multiple levels of the skin, plumping and smoothing as it goes. There’s cica and Centellarestore for barrier support and calm, plus an advanced priming complex to blur texture and keep makeup in place.

Balanced or oily? You can get away with this as your standalone hydrator. Drier skins might want to add a layer of HydraKate Recharging Water Cream underneath, but honestly, it still delivers a good hit of hydration on its own. Even if you never wear a scrap of makeup, this earns its keep as a radiance booster, leaving skin soft, sheeny and healthy looking.

🩵 HydraKate Pro-Collagen Lip Oil Elixir
This is a full lip treatment, not a sticky gloss from your teenage years. It’s got hyaluronic acid micro-filling spheres and a pro-collagen complex that actually work to soften and hydrate while improving elasticity over time. What I love most is that it doesn’t leave lips looking as though you’ve dunked them in chip fat. You can go light for a subtle sheen or build it up for something glossier. Either way, lips feel cared for and comfortable, not sticky.

If, like me, you lean dehydrated or just like the polished look of well-hydrated skin and lips, these are well worth a spot in your daily routine. 2025-09-07 13:31:33 🆕.. 0 - 95 +17%
Murad Revitalixir Recovery Serum Review 💜 (AD/PR)

When a skincare product has the word “recovery” in its name, I’m immediately intrigued. Enter muradskincare Revitalixir Recovery Serum, a product designed to restore, revive, and deliver results (just what you’d expect from Murad).

Life throws plenty at our skin - sun exposure, pollution, stress, hormones, the weather. All these factors chip away at the health and resilience of our skin.

This serum is a multitasking wonder, suitable for both face and eyes - a rare feature. It’s also a whopping 40ml.

The formula itself is a triumph. It tackles stress-related skin issues with an impressive lineup of ingredients: neuropeptides and paracress to smooth and firm, cannabis sativa seed oil to replenish moisture, and niacinamide to refine texture. Wild indigo and caffeine work wonders on tired under-eyes, reducing puffiness and dark circles. The innovative packaging separates a water-based gel and oil-based spheres until the pump blends them on application, preserving the potency of the actives for maximum effect.

Lightweight and silky, it absorbs beautifully, leaving no residue behind and sitting seamlessly under moisturiser and sunscreen. It’s one of those serums where you truly notice a tangible improvement in how your skin looks. My skin feels softer, looks more even, and appears visibly more hydrated (a rarity for me). The fact that it doubles as an eye treatment also trims down my morning routine - a small, but meaningful bonus.

Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm Review 🍊 (AD/PR)

Cleansing is the cornerstone of great skincare, and for me, it’s far more than a task, it’s a ritual. There’s nothing like the moment when a brilliant cleansing balm melts away the day, leaving your skin fresh and your senses indulged. Enter alphahskincare Melting Moment Cleansing Balm, a formula that combines efficacy with pure pleasure. If you’re partial to balms, or love a bit of citrus in your routine, this one’s a must try.

This balm works exactly as a good cleansing balm should, transforming from a rich, buttery texture into a luxurious oil upon contact with dry skin. It effortlessly lifts away SPF, long-wear makeup, and urban grime, even tackling stubborn waterproof mascara without a hint of pulling or scrubbing. A quick rinse or warm cloth sweep emulsifies it into a gentle milk, leaving your skin perfectly cleansed but never tight or stripped.

But what sets this balm apart is its thoughtful formula. Australian Wild Orange Leaf brings amino acids to support your skin barrier, while Grapeseed Oil’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties calm and protect. Australian Sandalwood Seed Oil, rich in fatty acids, helps repair and soothe, while Bisabolol reduces redness and locks in moisture. This is cleansing that doubles as skincare.

And let’s talk scent, because it’s glorious. A zesty blend of Tangerine, Yuzu, and Vanilla lingers subtly, striking a perfect balance between uplifting and comforting. It’s as if someone bottled a Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, this balm is available in both full and travel sizes which I love for those who want to try before committing.

Ultimately, Alpha-H Melting Moment Cleansing Balm is luxury in a jar. It turns the mundane into something indulgent, leaving skin soft, clean, and radiant. I’ll be keeping this one close, and not just for the cleansing… sniffing the jar has become a nightly habit too. 2025-09-03 21:44:05 .. 0 - 98 +21%
July & August Empties ♻️🗑️

❤️ – Already Repurchased

😢 – Not For Me

😍 heimish_uk All Clean Green Foam*
This is a perfect morning cleanser. It uses amino acid based surfactants to keep skin barrier and hydration levels intact. The result is a creamy, almost cushiony lather that feels far more luxurious than its price tag. Leaves skin soft and balanced, which in summer is frankly all you need.

😍 theordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner
This was such a pleasure to use. It’s a gently exfoliating, milky liquid that’s comforting where others can be astringent. You get a faintly silky texture on application, a nice mild brightening effect, and no irritation or redness. Like much of The Ordinary’s best work, its excellent value, extremely effective, and destined for my basket again.

❤️ katesomervilleskincare HydraKate Recharging Water Cream
A perfect moisturiser for summer. It’s featherlight in texture, but with enough oomph to properly hydrate parched skin. Gel creams often promise hydration but leave you feeling sticky or tight. This one sinks in beautifully and layers perfectly under sunscreen, and never pills. It’s specifically designed for dehydrated skin, and you can tell. I’ve already repurchased because frankly, I love it.

😍 alphahskincare Vitamin E Serum
If you love Alpha-H, you’ll likely love this too. It’s a serum that gets on with repairing, calming and fortifying skin that’s had a bit of a moment. Perfect for anyone who overdoes the actives or just needs a serum that behaves like a comfort blanket.

😍 laneige_uk Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Revitalizing Toner
Cooling, hydrating, and exactly the sort of thing you want to splash on after cleansing during hot weather. It preps skin nicely for serum, adds a layer of moisture, and generally makes everything feel a bit more moisturised and hydrated. I’ll be switching to the milkier version for autumn, but this one was a summer staple.

DS & Durga I Don’t Know What Review 🖤

There’s something quietly brilliant about I Don’t Know What by dsanddurga. Fittingly named, it’s a fragrance enhancer that does something. Something quite difficult to explain.

DS & Durga describe it as “transparent radiance” designed to give any scent that elusive je ne sais quoi. And frankly, that’s exactly what it does. Think of it less as a standalone perfume (though it absolutely can be worn as one) and more like a fragrance amplifier. Something that sits underneath your favourite scents and makes them somehow better. Fuller. Brighter. More noticeable.

Worn alone, it’s a woody/citrus blend which I feel leans masculine. Bergamot, vetiver, sandalwood and a touch of synthetic civet. It’s cool, dry, and clean. It’s something I’d imagine a GQ or Mens Health editor would smell like. I’ve worn it solo and found it compelling, with decent wear time and an unexpectedly strong sillage for something that’s supposed to be sheer.

But the real magic happens when you layer. For example, add it under Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather and suddenly that scent blooms with extra intensity and lift. Trying it under something lighter, like Tom Ford Beau de Jour, I’ve found it can overpower more delicate scents if you’re not careful. But that’s kind of part of the fun with experimenting with it. It makes your perfume wardrobe feel fresh again.

I got my sample in last year’s Space NK advent calendar and will use every drop with care. When it runs out, I’ll gladly be picking up a full size. It’s clever, and totally unlike anything else in my collection.

Rare Beauty Find Comfort Hydrating Hand Cream Review 🩷

It was during a spacenk sale scroll that I added the rarebeauty Find Comfort Hand Cream to my basket. Partly because I needed a hand cream, partly because it was on sale, and partly because I was nosey about what Selena Gomez’s hyped brand was doing outside of makeup. What arrived was a genuinely lovely surprise.

This is a hand cream that does exactly what it says it will. It hydrates without heaviness, nourishes without that dreaded filmy residue, and leaves hands feeling cared-for, not coated. Formulated with skin-soothing niacinamide, antioxidant-rich peach flower extract and ashwagandha (the natural de-stressor everyone’s talking about lately). It’s a considered formula and worked well for my dry hands, especially over winter.

Fragrance-wise, it’s surprisingly lovely. There’s a sparkling top note of lemon zest and rhubarb, but it’s grounded by a clean blend of violet, jasmine, tonka and a soft hit of cashmere woods and vetiver to name a few. It’s cosy, fresh and comforting. It’s he sort of scent you’d happily wear as a personal skin like fragrance if it came in a bottle. I feel it leans slightly feminine, but wouldn’t be offensive to a man should he choose to use it.

In terms of texture, it’s spot on. Balmy enough to soften dry cuticles, light enough to use between typing and texting. You can open doors, hold a glass, even scribble in a notebook immediately after applying – a detail that might sound small, but is the true mark of a good hand cream.

And now, the packaging. It’s minimal, portable, even designed as a massage applicator for targeting pressure points. But this is where function gets sacrificed for form. Once you’re past the halfway mark, getting product out becomes an Olympic event. It requires two hands, a solid grip, and a fair amount of strength and frustration. As someone without dexterity issues, I struggled which makes Rare Beauty’s inclusive ethos feel a touch undermined here. It’s also difficult to cut open, so you’re likely to waste a fair bit at the end.

It’s a shame because the formula inside is perfect. I’d probably repurchase, but I’ll curse the tube when I do. 2025-08-27 18:14:54 .. 0 - 84 +4%
Transparent Lab Bodycare 💪 (AD/PR)

I’ll admit, I didn’t realise Transparent Lab, one of the brilliant brands under nichebeautylab, had ventured into body care until they kindly sent me some products late last year. They were among the first I reached for from the package, and they’ve since earned a permanent place in my bathroom. Thoughtful, effective, and beautifully simple, these are products that do the job - and then some.

🤍 Ceramide Barrier Body Treatment
This restorative body lotion has become a favourite for when my skin needs some TLC. With 1% pure ceramides, pre and probiotics, and skin barrier-strengthening actives, it’s hydration with purpose. The lightweight, fast-absorbing formula sinks in effortlessly, leaving skin softer and smoother without a greasy residue. It’s perfect for addressing dry patches, fortifying the skin against environmental stress, and maintaining long-term moisture. The inclusion of probiotics is a clever touch, helping to balance the skin’s microbiome, which is essential for reducing irritation and keeping skin resilient.

🤍 Hydrating Glycerin Body Cleanser
The unsung hero of the lineup, this cleansing gel is a masterclass in effective yet gentle cleansing. Formulated with a whopping 50% glycerin, it doesn’t just clean - it hydrates while it works. My skin feels silky and never tight after use, a far cry from the squeaky-clean dryness that some body washes leave behind. The texture is lovely, and it delivers on its promise of leaving skin hydrated, smooth, and naturally radiant.

Both products are unfragranced, which is usually a drawback for me, especially in when it comes to body washes. But the elegant textures and the way they leave my skin feeling make it a compromise I’m happy to make. They’re perfectly suited to all skin types, including sensitive or reactive, and offer a paired-back, functional approach to body care that feels surprisingly luxurious.

If you’re after effective, no-frills body care that prioritises skin health without cutting corners, Transparent Lab’s bodycare range is well worth adding to your lineup. It’s functional beauty at its best, and I, for one, am glad they made the leap into bodycare. 2025-08-24 13:22:58 .. 0 - 78 -4%
Institut Esthederm Intensive Vitamin E Serum Review 💜

Every now and then, a product crosses your path that isn’t loud or flashy, but quietly, clinically gets on with the job beautifully. For me, institut_esthederm_uki Intensive Vitamin E Serum is precisely that.

Formulated for sensitive, reactive or inflamed skin, this light, calming serum is designed to immediately take down redness, irritation, and that hot, tight discomfort so many of us experience, especially in colder months or when we’ve been a bit too enthusiastic with acids or retinoids.

Unlike many supposedly soothing products, this one isn’t just about surface level comfort. It’s built around high concentrations of Vitamin E, a well-documented antioxidant that works as a powerful anti-inflammatory while also shielding skin from free radical damage (one of the leading causes of premature ageing). For those with skins too touchy for Vitamin C, whether due to sensitivity or conditions like rosacea, Vitamin E offers a brilliant, gentler alternative with many of the same protective benefits.

The texture is spot on. It’s a light, slightly milky serum that absorbs quickly without vanishing into nothingness. It leaves my dry, temperamental skin feeling cushioned and genuinely comforted, without any heaviness or grease. Over time, I’ve noticed my skin tone looking calmer and more even, with fewer flare-ups and less of that dull, blotchy redness that stressed skin so often has.

I use it most in the mornings, instead of my usual antioxidant serum or when my face is playing up. It’s even great as a preventative step when the central heating’s on full blast and the wind’s biting. It layers beautifully under moisturiser and SPF, and doesn’t pill.

It may not be the serum that gets all the hype on Instagram, but if your skin is dry, red, reactive, or just in need of a little peace and quiet, this is a standout. In short, I’ve absolutely loved my time with it and will seriously consider purchasing it again. 2025-08-20 17:43:27 .. 0 - 79 -3%
ZIIP Halo Review ⚡ (AD/PR)

Most facial gadgets are destined for the drawer of doom. Too fiddly, too time-consuming, and rarely worth the effort. The ziipbeauty Halo has completely surprised me. It’s genuinely the most effective device I’ve tried, and one I can honestly say I’d buy again with my own money.

It works with both Microcurrent and Nanocurrent. Microcurrent is the more intense of the two, stimulating muscles, increasing ATP (the energy cells run on), and generally delivering that instant “tightened” look. Nanocurrent, on the other hand, is more delicate, mimicking the body’s natural electrical currents to encourage renewal and repair. Together, they claim to address everything from sagging and fine lines to pigmentation and breakouts. I can’t vouch for all of those, but the immediate firming and sculpting, particularly around my jawline, is undeniable.

For me, loss of firmness around the jaw has been a big concern. Just four minutes every other day (two minutes per side) is enough to make a visible difference. The difference I notice myself, but more tellingly, a difference my partner notices too. That in itself is worth the price tag.

You’ll need a conductive gel to use it and ZIIP sell their own to use. I’ve been using their Electric Complex Gel and I’ve found five pumps is enough. When using it, it can feel a little peculiar. Your lips and muscles can twitch, your teeth buzz slightly, and it can feel as though your hair is being moved. But it’s never painful or uncomfortable, and it makes me feel like it’s actually doing something.

The Halo comes pre-programmed with a quick four minute routine, or you can dive into longer targeted treatments via the app. Like any device, consistency is key. Buy it and leave it in the box, and it’s pointless. Use it as directed, and it’s transformative.

I was gifted this device with no obligation to post, but I can honestly say that if I lost it or it broke tomorrow, I’d go straight out and buy another. I don’t think I could be without it now.

If you want to give it a try, using code SKINT at checkout will get you 10% off. 2025-08-17 13:27:19 .. 0 - 80 -1%
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Multi-Protection SPF20 Review 👁️ (AD/PR)

Embryolisse is practically synonymous with French pharmacy skincare - a brand steeped in moisturising marvels and a cult-classic original cream beloved by makeup artists and beauty insiders alike. So when they introduced the Lait-Crème Multi-Protection SPF20, I was intrigued. A cream that promises to moisturise while protecting against UVA/UVB rays, blue light, infrared, pollution, and signs of ageing? Sign me up - at least in theory.

Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me. Let’s start with the elephant in the room: SPF20. While any sun protection is better than none, SPF20 in 2025 feels, frankly, a bit redundant. In a world that rightly champions SPF30 as the bare minimum for daily wear, this feels like a step back.

But the real kicker is the pilling. Few things in skincare are as exasperating as product pilling - it wastes time, product, and patience. I found this cream incredibly temperamental; layering anything over it (a proper sunscreen, for instance) often turned into a game of roulette. Even when carefully applied with the gentlest of touch, it seemed a toss-up whether I’d end up with a smooth finish or bits of rolled-up residue clinging to my face.

In its favour, it’s a beautifully lightweight texture and has that distinct Embryolisse scent that always feels like a small indulgence. But practically speaking, it’s hard to love a product that doesn’t play nicely with the rest of your routine - particularly when time is tight in the mornings.

That said, if you’re spending a makeup-free day at home or need light moisturisation with a whisper of sun protection while working indoors, it may find a niche in your collection. For me, though, it’s not enough to justify a permanent spot on my shelf.

Embryolisse remains a brand I admire, but this release feels like a rare misstep in their otherwise stellar lineup. I’d stick to the original Lait-Crème or invest in a separate SPF that won’t leave you frustrated.

Have you tried this one? I’d love to hear your thoughts. 2025-08-13 21:03:56 .. 0 - 95 +17%
Three The Ordinary Favourites 🤍(AD/PR)

There was a time when The Ordinary dominated my bathroom shelf, as it did so many others. It democratised active skincare, putting formerly elusive ingredients into straightforward, affordable formulas. Yes, you could also they made skincare more complicated and confusing, but you have to give them their due. Without them, there wouldn’t be half as many affordable brands there are now. Years on, I no longer rely on the range exclusively, but a few of its heroes still hold court in my rotation. These three, in particular, have truly stood the test of time.

🤍 Multi-Peptide + HA Serum
Once known as “Buffet”, this remains one of the best peptide serums around. Light, hydrating, and effective, it uses several proven peptides (Matrixyl, Argirelox, SYN-AKE among them) to boost elasticity and soften the appearance of fine lines. It’s the sort of ‘does a bit of everything’ serum that works beautifully in almost any routine.

🤍 Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
There’s absolutely no need to overspend on a hyaluronic serum, and this one has long been a go to for me. With multiple molecular weights of hyaluronic acid plus panthenol (vitamin B5), it hydrates, plumps and layers like a dream under moisturiser or SPF. The texture’s just right... not too tacky, not too runny and it gives skin that cushiony bounce you want from a hyaluronic.

🤍 Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Yes, it’s a little divisive (some find it too strong or irritating) but used carefully and appropriately, this can be an excellent tool for those dealing with oiliness or the odd hormonal breakout. The high dose of niacinamide supports barrier health and brightens tone, while zinc PCA helps with sebum and inflammation. A long-time staple for a reason, but best avoided if your skin’s on the reactive side.

Garnier Skin Active Hyaluronic Cryo Jelly Masks Review 💦 (AD/PR)

Whether you’re heading out for a big night or indulging in some well-earned sofa time, the garnieruk Skin Active Hyaluronic Cryo Jelly Masks deliver a refreshing burst of hydration without breaking the bank. Affordable, effective, and downright pampering, they’re a perfect pick-me-up for dry or dehydrated skin.

Available in two formats (a full-face sheet mask and under-eye patches) these are designed to revive tired, dull complexions. The sheet masks are drenched in a formula that combines glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and menthol to hydrate, nourish, and refresh your skin. The eye patches are equally effective, targeting the delicate under-eye area for a much-needed boost.

What sets these apart is their delightful cryo-cooling effect. They’re cool on their own, but pop them in the fridge beforehand, and they become an absolute summer heatwave essential. There’s something deeply satisfying about that icy sensation on a hot day or when you’re feeling fatigued. It’s a quick, easy way to make your skin feel energised and alive.

After using these, my skin feels plump, hydrated, and noticeably brighter so ideal for prepping before a party or a night out with friends. And while I’m usually frustrated by poorly fitting sheet masks, these are a rare exception. They’re generously sized and fit snugly. Sure they may slip about if you’re moving around, but take that as a sign to take 10 minutes and lie down and relax.

What’s even better is their availability. You’ll find them everywhere, from highstreet favourites like Boots and Superdrug to supermarkets like Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, and Asda. Toss one in your basket during your next shop - and give them a try. 2025-08-08 17:39:49 .. 0 - 66 -19%
Augustinus Bader The Skin Renewal System Review 💙

There are certain brands that instantly provoke The Question “Is it really worth the money?”. And augustinusbader is one of them. For me, the only way to find out was to take the plunge during the spacenk Christmas sale. I’d already tried a mini of The Rich Cream (and liked it very much), so I wanted to dip into a few more from the range to see if the rest lived up.

The Cream Cleansing Gel
Texture-wise, it’s pleasant. It’s a lightweight gel that emulsifies into a soft milk on contact with water. There’s a subtle lather, a nice clean rinse, and a perfectly respectable cleanse. The addition of soothing botanicals like aloe, cucumber, and rose water make it especially suitable for morning or second cleanses. It contains the brand’s signature TFC8® complex, which allegedly boosts skin renewal. Though I often wonder whether it survives the rinse stage. My verdict? Perfectly lovely, but not £58 lovely. There are cleansers half the price that feel more luxurious and clean just as well, if not better.

The Essence
Now, this one is trickier to call. It’s an exfoliating liquid with phytic acid, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, plus wasabi ferment. Used consistently, it delivers smoother texture, more even tone, and less congestion. It works, but then again, so do many others.

The Rich Cream
I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do. It’s rich without being greasy, and velvety in a way that makes skin feel cocooned rather than coated. The TFC8 complex, combined with argan, avocado and evening primrose oils, makes it intensely nourishing. It’s exactly what I reach for after a retinoid night. Has it changed my skin beyond recognition? No. Have I used other creams that yield better results? Certainly. But there’s something about this one. The texture, the finish, the sheer pleasure of applying it. In the age-old battle of La Mer vs Bader, I firmly sit in the latter camp.

In short, only one item truly justifies the price for me. That’s the cream. The rest? Nice enough, but not irreplaceable.

Have you tried Augustinus Bader? Did you fall for the hype, or find something better for less? I’d love to know. 2025-08-03 12:48:48 .. 0 - 93 +15%
Tom Ford Noir Extreme Eau De Parfum Review 💛

Some fragrances are love at first spritz. Others are more complex, require time to fall in love with, and tomfordbeauty Noir Extreme absolutely falls into that camp.

I’ll admit, I didn’t warm to it straight away. For something routinely hyped as “the sexy one” in the Tom Ford lineup, I found the opening jarring. It’s spicy and sweet, almost brash, and not at all what I was expecting. I wanted seductive smoothness and instead got something closer to spiced dessert and citrus peel. But as it was a Christmas gift, I persevered (also, I’m constitutionally incapable of letting anything go unused), and I’m so glad I did.

This is, in essence, a manly gourmand with rich, warm notes. It opens with a vivid clash of spices and citrus, almost too intense at first, like walking into a room full of strong cologne-wearing strangers. But give it time. The initial chaos subsides, and what’s left is beautiful. The heart is soft with kulfi (an Indian frozen dessert, slightly nutty and creamy), paired with floral notes of rose absolute, orange blossom, and jasmine making it smell a little opulent.

As it dries down, the real seduction begins. That signature Tom Ford amber comes forward, full of heat and sensuality, anchored by sandalwood and a lick of vanilla that smoulders on the skin long after the drama of the top notes fades. It’s a drydown that clings to jumpers and shirts, which, frankly, I love.

The projection is strong enough to make a statement in the first few hours without becoming overwhelming. After that, it sits close to the skin, leaving a trail that’s intriguing to those close.

It’s strictly an autumn/winter scent for me being a little too rich and decadent for anything involving sun or heat. I wouldn’t wear this to the supermarket or for a casual brunch. This is for late dinners, smart coats, and something that involves booze. It’s a fragrance that dresses up, even when you don’t.

Do I love it as much as Grey Vetiver or Eau d’Ombré Leather? No. But it’s carved out its own niche in my fragrance wardrobe like those occasions when I want to feel a little out of my comfort zone. 2025-08-01 18:21:59 .. 0 - 79 -3%
Jones Road Gel Bronzer Review ☀️

We all want a bronzed look over summer without the sun damage and as someone who wears SPF 50 daily, I’ve long accepted that a real tan is neither desirable nor on the cards. But the desire for just a whisper of warmth, that healthy, “I’ve actually left the house” look, especially in the summer months, never quite goes away.

Enter the Jones Road Gel Bronzer. I bought this on the recommendation of skincaresteve who posted a glowing review on his page. His review mentioned that this doesn’t cling or clump into stubble which is one of the biggest gripes I have with anything vaguely tinted or creamy. So I added it to basket, and I’m very glad I did.

This is a sheer, skin-enhancing tint which is subtle, believable, and very easy to use. It comes in three shades: Light (a soft golden bronze), Medium (a warmer, red based bronze), and Dark (a rich chocolate tone). I opted for Light, which is just enough to give my pale skin a gentle sunlit warmth without tipping over into Oompa Loompa territory.

The texture is a total dream. It’s weightless, gel-like, and incredibly forgiving. It comes out of the tube looking suspiciously dark, but once blended (which takes seconds), it melts seamlessly into the skin. There’s no chalkiness, no streaks, and crucially, no patchy beard weirdness.

You can pat it on over makeup or apply directly onto bare skin, which is how I like to use it for an ultra-natural finish. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even mix a little into moisturiser. A word of caution here - don’t ever mix it into your sunscreen (layer it over instead).

What I love most is its versatility. Apply it traditionally across the high points of the face cheeks, temples, bridge of the nose or go all in and use a light layer all over for a fresh off holiday glow. It gives radiance without sparkle, and a glow without grease.

A new summer essential for me. 2025-07-30 18:17:30 J.. 0 - 84 +4%
