London has a new banana pudding spot vnillalondon 🍌 I've been seeing it all over my feed and found myself in Covent Garden last week so thought I might as well see if it's worth the hype! I got so many questions when I posted a story about it, so here's everything you need to know 🙌 - How was it? They have different flavours - I went for the classic banana pudding with layers of vanilla wafers, banana and creamy pudding. The portion is £6.50. It was really nice, I'd give it 8/10. - How does it compare to Magnolia Bakery? I was lucky enough to try the Magnolia bakery version a couple weeks ago at their pop-up. Magnolia's banana pudding is a little sweeter and has a stronger banana flavour. Personally, I prefer the Magnolia one. - Would I get it again? The answer would have been yes, however, I was recently sent a video showing that they have changed the size and made the portion smaller for the classic one...it's already a little spenny as is, so I personally wouldn't get it again. - Was there a queue? I went on a weekday during the tube strikes so there was no queue! If you can, go during off-peak times as it's not worth queuing an hour for. Have you tried it? Top tips for visiting the Acropolis of Athens ✨️ 🏛 Pre-book your tickets online to avoid waiting in queues - they sell tickets by timed slots. There is a ticket booth at the main entrance though if you need last minute tickets. 🕑 Book the first slot of the day to avoid the crowds - when I went that was 8am. When I was leaving around 10am, it was extremely busy. ☀️ Don't forget your sunscreen and make sure to use it on your body and not just your face - especially your arms, neck and chest. I'd also recommend a hat. 🌬 If you have a handheld fan, bring it with you when you visit as it gets extremely hot in the summer months. The most scenic hidden gem neighbourhood in Athens 😍 Back in 2019 when I went on a work trip to Athens I had heard Anafiotika was a must-visit but I never got the chance to go...so this time around, it was top of my list! It's absolutely beautiful 🩷 it is a little difficult to find even with maps, at some point I thought I was being led astray 😅 but eventually, you'll find it! The houses are very cute, but the stairways are really narrow so be careful when exploring. Ten things to do in beautiful Athens ✨ 🏛 Visit the Acropolis and Parthenon - book the first slot of the day to avoid the crowds and pre book your tickets online. 🌺 Spend an afternoon wandering around the charming neighbourhood of Plaka. There's a new Middle Eastern café in London arambyimad 🪬 You probably all already know imadalarnab and imadssyriankitchen - this is his latest venture! It's a deli, café and restaurant with pastries, brunch dishes and a salad bar 🥗 amzbe88 and I tried a selection of dishes - her favourite was the zaatar croissant with fried egg, aleppo chilli, grilled sumac tomatoes and halloumi 🍳 My fave was the potato rosti with sumac cured trout. Honestly I could eat that rosti everyday! We also tried the French toast Brioche with tahini cream and date molasses syrup - loved the flavours but the toast could have been fluffier... A new café and delicatessen has just opened at thechanceryrosewood 🥑 It's called GSQ, we went for breakfast, they have the prettiest outdoor terrace! Cape Town's popular restaurant 'The Pot Luck Club' has recently opened a pop-up at The Waldorf Hilton! (pr invite) It's a sharing concept so zeinabrahal and I tried a mix of dishes. We went for: 🌮 Taco 2.0 with linefish ceviche which was so good. 🍟 Chickpea, goat’s cheese & parmesan fries perfectly paired with truffle aioli and smoked ketchup. 🐟 Pot luck club fish slider - not my favourite dish but Zeinab loved it. 🫓 Sourdough bread with baba ghanoush, olives and butter. This was served warm and is a must order. 🌶 Peri-peri chicken with kale & pepper salad. The chicken is Halal and I really enjoyed this dish. 🥦 Broccoli penang with peanut & coconut curry and lime pickled red onion salad - loved the flavours of this dish. 🍅 Tomato salad with burrata - perfect combo! For dessert we had the strawberry & cream which we personally weren't fans of and the mango & sago pudding which was really good and refreshing. Finally made it to ninamarylebone for lunch with amzbe88 🍝 We started with the blue fin tuna and melon which was so good - the melon can be a bit overpowering though. We also got the burratina with peppers, perfect combo and the burrata was so creamy. For mains we got the spaghetti with Nina's tomato sauce - this was a bit underwhelming tbh so it's the only dish I wouldn't order again. The gnocchetti with truffle butter was 10/10 though 👌 And the stracciatella burnt cheesecake was the perfect end to the meal 😋 The portion is very generous so definitely one for sharing. This is London's newest restaurant from the team behind NAC, Supernova and Crème and it's been all over my feed recently 🍝✨️ I went to check out 74dukemayfair for lunch with tannazloves. We ordered the Rigatoni with morel cream & chives, the caesar salad, the fries and the cookie dessert. It's definitely one of the most expensive lunches I've had in a while... The pasta was okay, tbh for that price we were expecting so much more! It was nicely cooked, but flavour wise it was lacking - I've had better pasta in so many other spots in London. The fries were nice but could have been crispier! The ceasar salad had 4 croutons in it 😭 If there's one thing this group knows how to do well, it's cookies 🍪 The brown butter choc chip cookies are delicious and they're served with banana caramel ice cream. I get why this dessert is so popular but I do think NAC's cookie dessert edges it for me. The vibe is really cute and the staff were all nice and friendly. Am I going to go back anytime soon? There's a new Prada beauty pop-up in London to celebrate their banana balm🍌 It's at Selfridges - there are 2 sections to the pop-up. Here's all you need to know: The first is outside by the Duke Street entrance where you can get a complimentary banana granita (it's delicious 😋) and try the balm. Finally found an excuse to fly out of Heathrow Terminal 2 🙌 Been wanting to try the Cyril Lignac x Louis Vuitton café for a while. It's such a pretty café, away from all the chaos! The cutest afternoon tea taking you on a journey through Asia 🛫 hyattchurchill (pr invite) Once you arrive, you get given a boarding pass and then you're ready to go!
