May we introduce our beautiful daughter and share the story of her birth with you. ✨

The last couple of weeks I have been hospitalized due to a high risk of having preeclampsia. Baby and I were doing okay for with medicine to contain my blood pressure, bed rest and super healthy meals. Our goal was to reach at least 35 or 36 weeks of pregnancy.

On the night of the 2nd October I started to feel some sort of stomach pain. Like when you ate something strange and your stomach doesn‘t like it. I didnt think much of it and tried to sleep it off. At around midnight, the start of my birthday, the pain got worse so I asked Chatgpt what it could be and it told me to immediately tell the midwife - which I did. After that everything went super fast. They checked my blood, gave me an IV drip, did NST for the baby, doctors came and talked to me. At around 2am they said my liver shows some signs of distress and that we might have to deliver the baby soon. They took another blood sample to be sure and I just tried my best to be calm. I texted with my family back in Switzerland because everyone else in Japan was sound asleep.

At around 8am we got the results from the second blood test and at 8:30am my doctor asked me, how fast can your husband be here? We have to perfom a c-section as soon as possible. Yusuke was at home, getting the kids ready for Kindergarten. He managed to drop them off a bit earlier and was at the clinic 45min later. My doctor promised me to wait until Yusuke got there here. At around 9:30am they started to get me ready for the delivery and soon after that our precious, little, strong girl, Lily was born, sharing her birthday with me. She cried immediately and I got to cuddle her for a few minutes. After that she had to go to the NICU because she entered this world five weeks earlier at 34 weeks and 6 days of my pregnancy. We both got discharged from the hospital after a week and she is doing so amazing. So proud of her and we are all so in love.

During my hospital stay I received so many beautiful messages from you and they helped me overcome this difficult situation and I am so grateful to have so many wonderful friends all over the world. 🥹🩷 2025-10-11 12:24:45 May we introduc.. 5,571 +204% 203 +366%

Little pregnancy update

I don‘t know if you saw it in my stories but I have been hospitalized for one week now and have to stay until birth. They want to closely monitor my baby and I because my blood showed signs of preeclampsia. We still have quite a few weeks left of this pregnancy but we are celebrating every day that we can get extra because that means our little girl can get a little stronger day by day.

Yusuke is at home taking care of our boys, waking up early making sure they have their little lunchboxes ready, taking them to Kindergarten, working full-time, cooking dinner, cleaning the house, washing my clothes and brings me everything I need and most importantly always tries to make me feel calm during all this. He is our family‘s rock at the moment and it showed me once more - I married the right guy. 🥹🤭

Being in the hospital gives me a lot of time to think about things. First of all, I feel incredibly privileged to be able to get the best care for me and my baby. I get a healthy meal three times a day, have a nice bed, amazing doctors and midwives making sure we can continue this pregnancy as long as possible. I am truly in the best hands. I also know so many women around the world can‘t get the same care which makes me so so sad…

I also see all the silent fights the women here are fighting. Spending weeks or months away from families. Trying to get ready for the new baby. I saw a future grandma bringing baby clothes to the hospital lounge for her daughter to see and to fold it together. I don‘t know why but it touched me so much.

My room neighbor is on a strict bedrest, she can‘t even shower or move around. Another room neighbor had to be suddenly wheeled to the operation room to deliver her baby. So many stories and so many battles behind the hospital walls.

Pregnancy is not always easy and I just want to tell all the Mamas out there that we are so strong and we can endure so much for our babies. I hope everyone who is in a similar situation is doing okay. Not knowing what tomorrow brings is hard but I try to see the positive and keep going. Sending you a big hug.

When Yusuke and I first started dating, we lived in two different countries—Switzerland and Japan. We traveled back and forth just to spend a little time together. Even now, certain scents or foods instantly bring us back to those days.

For us, Choco Monaka Jumbo is one of those snacks. It always reminds us how far we’ve come. I usually don’t like sharing my ice cream, but with Yusuke I happily make an exception… because that’s what love does. 🥹♥️

If you’re in Japan, you have to try this classic! It’s been around for over 50 years, and honestly, I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love it. 😋

Our weekend was filled with visiting the local Matsuri and basically eating all the snacks. Kids were able to carry the Omikoshi and play the big drums and they did so well.

We had such a great time even though it was crazy hot and humid. I LOVE all the festivals during the summer months and seeing so many people cheering each other and carry the portable shrine through the streets is so powerful and beautiful, I always tear up. It is also so nice that our kids get to experience this tradition.

It was also the first time that we gave our kids some pocket money (¥500) and they were able to buy whatever they wanted. The happiness in their eyes was something else.

Day in my life - pregnancy edition. 🤰🏻
All I do at the moment is trying to keep my blood pressure low, spending quality time with my kids, eating good food and going to the clinic to check my blood and everything else. Yusuke has been nothing but amazing and he took over the breakfasts and bentos in the morning and he tries to make dinner whenever he can too. Having a supportive husband is everything!! 🥹♥️

The other day we could sneak in a date night and Yusuke‘s parents looked after our kids.
We had such a nice dinner - Mexican of course. 😋 We enjoyed talking to each other and imagined our life with three kids. 🥹♥️

The last few weeks before giving birth are always a bit hectic and it is just so nice to talk to each other and check how we both are doing. It is so easy go get caught up in daily life, especially with two youngs kids and one more on the way. We are such a great team and function every day but sometimes it is nice to take some time off and just be husband and wife and forgot the daily hassle.

By the way, this restaurant is awesome and the food is soooo delicious. It is located near Hamadayama station and the name is „Happy Go Lucky“. Totally recommend it.

Here is another meal I make quite often for my family. It is also very good to add to the kids lunchboxes. I am craving lots of vegetables at the moment and decided to add the meat in the green pepper and it is so good. And I always love Ponzu.

I quickly filmed this video after waking up from a nap and I thought it was time for dinner but it was actually only 3:30pm… lol My pregnancy brain is so bad at the moment. 🤭😅

We just got the Kindergarten mealplan for september. My kids eat the Kindergarten lunch three times a week and twice I prepare a Bento for them. I love how seasonal everything is and how much of a variety they serve to the kids. They get to try so many different meals and I love that for them. Our youngest is so much more open to try new foods now.
What do you think about the meals the serve?

I am not a big fan of Japanese summers because it is always super crazy hot and humid BUT I do love all the festivals. They are awesome and the atmosphere is always amazing. Everyone is just so happy and enjoying life. You can also find lots of delicious street food and dance with the locals. This festival was a rather small one, there are much bigger ones with more food options and lots of fun activities for kids and adults.

Our kids also love to wear their festival clothes whenever they can. And how fun is it that Lio found a Star Wars one, I think Yususke was more excited about it than Lio. lol

It has been a while since I last made a Bento for my kids. I have to be honest and waking up in the morning is super difficult now at 30 weeks pregnant. Yusuke usually wakes up and prepares the kids lunchboxes and their breakfast but today I felt good and decided to surprise them with something new. I totally forgot how much I enjoy making them. I just checked what we have in the fridge and looked at my pins and came up with this tiger version, or at least that was what I tried to make.

All the Bento tools I used are available in our little online shop osusumecollection. I use them everytime I make Bentos.

Thank you so much for watching and I hope you all have a great day.

We try to go once a week to a bigger supermarket and get most of the things we need during the week. I make a roughly mealplan for the bentos and dinners and like that we spend less money on groceries.

Depending on the store you go, you have to pay more or if you find a good one you pay much less, especially in Tokyo. We found one that we quite like and they also have some items in bigger quantities which is awesome for a family or four. Sometimes I still have to go to a supermarket close to our house to get more eggs or milk during the week but it does make my life much easier if we can get everything at once.
Rice is still much more expensive and generally I think the prices are slowly raising. What do you think how much everything costs? I show you at the end, do you think it was a good deal?

I decided to make a new series with recommendations for souvenirs you can bring back from Japan. Starting off strong with one of my family‘s favorite - curry cubes. Super easy to make and you have all the ingredients at home, for sure. This is my step by step guide with how I make Japanese curry. Hope this will be helpful if you love curry as much as we do.

Please check the law in your country before you bring it👍

I take you guys with me for my son‘s 3 years check up at the city hall. It was at 12:45 so I decided to take the kids out for a quick lunch at a family restaurant. Kids are always super excited for the toy they get and like that the time at the restaurant is actually nice. I get to „usually“ eat in peace while the kids enjoy their toy but this time I had to add so many little stickers on the toy cars… jokes on me lol

The check-up was great and our son is genki. I wanted to film ou dinner too but my energy left me at exactly 3pm. #pregnancylife

Here are three points that I am not sure if I would do the same if I were to raise me kids in Switzerland. I got influenced by the Japanese way of parenting and my kids usually take a shower / bath EVERY day and we all sleep in the same bedroom. Both is pretty common here in Japan. I also love to make a warm breakfast for my family, especially during the cooler months of the year.

Let me know what or how your parenting changed, I am very curious to know ☺️

We spent our summer vacation in Nagano and of course we had to buy our groceries at tsuruya_supermarket_jp because they have so many delicious products without unnecessary additives added. We could not cover everything they offer but if you are ever in Nagano you should really check it out. This post is not sponsored by the way, we just really love this supermarket and we always buy lots of items to take back with us to Tokyo.

We spent a week in Nagano and decided to take the JR Koumi Line to explore the countryside a bit. It was a rainy day so perfect condition. We got off on a random station and found a nice restaurant and walked around for a bit. I realized that quite a few smaller train stations in the countryside have a little library for the passengers. So cute.
We also passed the highest JR station called Nobeyama Eki (1345.67m)

During our train journey we saw so many beautiful Japanese houses, saw lots of farmers with big tractors and the kids loved it so much. We always enjoy to explore a new place in a slow pace. So worth it.

Sometimes the best moments are the quiet ones.
A warm summer breeze, a growing belly, the sound of my kids laughing in the distance, beautiful scenery and lots of quality time with the people I love the most.

Life in Japan isn’t always perfect, but the slow and beautiful days give me strength to continue and to create more and more memories with the kids. I know one day, I will look back and realize these are the best days of my life.

Our kids really got into hiking and they are doing super well. We still look for hikes that are easy to make and plan lots of breaks, bring lots of snacks and just let our kids explore so that they can do everything at their pace.

Nagano was so good for all of us. The heat in Tokyo got to us and to finally be able to enjoy outdoors again without the humidity is so nice. At night we don‘t even need an aircon and we all sleep so much better. Nagano you have been awesome - as usual. 🫶

Yusuke and I both love creating content. Not just to capture memories of our kids growing up, but also to share parts of our life with you on social media. We’ve always known how important visual footage is, but we’ve also learned that audio plays a big role in making a video truly successful.

A few weeks ago, Hollyland gifted us one of their microphones, and it’s been amazing. The audio is super clear, and it’s quick and easy to use. I usually film everything on my phone, and with two kids running around, I really appreciate anything that’s simple but delivers great results.

We only recommend products that we genuinely use and love ourselves. If you’re also looking for a microphone to use with your phone, check out the link in our bio!

Last sunday evening was just so perfect. We had a delicious dinner with a breathtaking view over the sea and after sunset we got to enjoy ziggyalberts amazing music. The kids loved it so much, it was actually their first concert and they already asked when we can go again.

My sister and her husband __explore_theworld__ introduced us to his music back in 2022. They stayed with us for a few weeks and we travelled through Japan and had the best time. Our youngest was just a few months old and we got to create so many beautiful memories. Ziggy‘s music always takes us back to that time and it makes our heart so full and happy.
