Friday night dinner at Botiwalla by Chai Pani, with the sunset pouring through the windows at Optimist Hall, and the place was full of Indian families, which is always the best sign for an Indian street food restaurant. . We started with SPDP (Sev Potato Dahi Puri) - crisp puris filled with potato, yogurt, tamarind and green chutney, topped with crunchy onion. You eat them in one bite so all the flavors complement each other in your mouth, and honestly, it all kinda works. . Then the lamb kebab bowl with crunchy cashews...grilled, spicy, and completely satisfying. The Mango Lassi was fab and they have a fun cocktail menu too! . 48 Hours in Lake Lure (Yes, that lake from Dirty Dancing) While the lake itself won’t reopen for a few months due to Hurricane Helene, the town is very much open and alive. It’s rebuilding and there’s still so much to enjoy. Here’s how we spent 2 slow, scenic days: 1️⃣ Stayed at graftonlodgenc, a gorgeous B&B just 10-minutes walk from the lake, shops and restaurants. 
2️⃣ Climbed 499 steps to the top of chimneyrocknc. It officially reopened June 27 - you can visit when you book ahead on their website. The views are incredible. 
3️⃣ Stopped by the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge - a community-built garden filled with color and creativity. 
4️⃣ Wine tasting and dinner at parkerbinnsvineyard, 6-time winner of Best Tryon Foothills Winery and they offer live music and delicious food from ReLiSH Kitchen. 
5️⃣ Wandered around the lake where you can grab a coffee, browse the shops, and take in the mountain air. . Even without the lake, there’s plenty to do!
