Musings while I make a mental list of what I’m keeping in storage during this move: I think minimalism might be a plot to separate us from our feminine, creative energy. Show me a poet who counts her books, limits her journals, restricts her pens. Show me an artist with just three brushes, a canvas or two, and no mess in sight. Tell me of a Martha Stewart entertaining family and guests with only four plates, baking sourdough bread without a mess of bowls, arranging flowers with one single vase— and no backup. Life feels really full right now. We’re preparing for a major international move. Sorting through almost a decade of memories. Packing up our entire home. Selling things on Marketplace (my gawd). Handling paperwork, applications, and the logistics of an entirely new life… …all while managing big renovation projects for my clients and holding space for my kids (and myself) as emotions rise and shift daily. There is so much joy in all of it. And also? A ton of uncertainty. Overwhelm. Stress that makes us snap at each other over the dumbest shit. It feels like a thousand mental tabs are open—and they’re all blinking at once. And yet… There’s trust. So much fucking trust. I’ve been waking up almost every night for the last two months with my heart racing, wondering if I’ve forgotten something important. (Chances are, I have.) But the one thing that keeps pulling me back to center has been Poetry. Sometimes it’s complete shit. Sometimes I read it back and think I’m the next Shakespeare. But always—it brings me home. Sitting with what’s real at 3:33 a.m. Letting the words come. Letting the feelings breathe. Remembering there’s beauty in the mess. I took my girls to see Shakira last week. My first concert was hers too — I was around 11, wearing ripped jeans, a fake leather choker, and probably feeling way too grown for my age. Standing next to my daughters now, watching them dance and sing with a soft confidence I never had at that age — it was pure magic. And then it hit me. 
My body has changed. My life has stretched and reshaped in every possible way since that first concert… 
Yet somehow, I’m still that rebel girl. The one who loved rhythm, music, poetry. Who craved space to move, to express, to feel free.
