Like many other trailblazing warriors, who risked it all to bring down an unstoppable monster. You returned home, not to a hero’s welcome, but to be judged and blamed and left to fend for yourself.
We as a people will stalk, humiliate and “hold accountable” someone accused of “stolen valor”. Yet we let our VETS return home to a life of no support. Many with PTSD, and don’t blink an eye when money is taken from their care.
We as a people, will vote on a president based around their proximity to Jeffrey Epstein. Start seven hundred thousand conspiracy chat rooms to “bring him down”, and demand his ‘list’ be made public. All whilst ignoring the only person who actually fought that fight. In person. Alone.
To Virginias family. I am sending you so much strength and healing. I cannot imagine the toll this has taken on you all.
We as a people do not have our priorities quite right, but you Virginia, did. You have all of my, and many survivors around the world’s, unwavering love and respect. R.I.P I just know God has you in his arms. So very very proud of his baby girl.

![R.I.P and Merry Christmas Dad. I am glad we reconnected a few years ago, not because you had changed all that much, not because it brought me all that much joy, it’s actually been very hard. You know that. You were very hard. I cut you off twice in that time lol. Once for a year. Although that was because of your brother. But our last emails, the ones right before you died. They were kind emails and I’m glad.
I found it very hard to hear about what happened to you as a child. What happened to all of your siblings at the hands of St Augustine’s and other orphanages and boys homes in Melbourne. Brother Houston I hope you rot in jail. None of this undoes the abuse I incurred down the line, but it helped me understand you. To try to understand you was to love you. R.I.P dad I’m very sorry no one protected you. I’m very sorry life was not so much more. I’m devastated really. You’re probably blown away by how sad I am. if you can see me.
Although I refused to believe your friend Brian Marshall was Jesus, I mean heck, he ran an anti Lgbt cult.. I do very much hope he is wherever you are and you are surrounded by family and friends.

The last photo is of my friend Remy. We were in a play together in Australia. He is now, on a beach in California, running up a gigantic sand dune in yellow shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, a giant bandage on his right arm from a nasty fall off a ‘bird’ scooter, and what I will attempt to describe as a pink knitted ski mask with semi questionable pink ears, like a bunny bank robber. Behind him is a blue ocean, glistening in the sun, but you almost miss it, because his smile is so big and joyous and infectious.. but the bunny ears ski mask, it’s just a lot to take in.]()

![I read this article the day it came out. It never left me. Rezwan, his face, his story. His family. The students at the school who grieve.
The article itself. Devastating. Important and what felt like the minimum length needed, to be close to covering some of the complexities and failures in these systems.
For months I thought about it sporadically. Sometimes thoughts, other times immense grief, sometimes out of nowhere.
Now I think about him, his story and the article everyday.
I feel helpless because this is happening everywhere, everyday in almost every country from Australia to the UK at speeds we cannot comprehend.
While simultaneously journalists, especially the kind we need to tell these types of stories, are being fired and entire publications are shutting down.
So the least I can do is share this here, and ask that if you have the courage and emotional bandwidth today to read this young man’s story. Or share it with anyone you feel could use another perspective. I’ll put the link in my bio.]()
