What Is Success?

In our October issue, we asked some of the world’s most accomplished culture makers to define it for themselves—and the answers were anything but conventional. For our cover star, lennykravitz, it has nothing to do with fame, wealth, or accolades. “Success is just doing the work. It’s making the art,” he says, reflecting on a career that’s spanned three decades, countless stages, and an equally bold second act in design.

From his sun-soaked Bahamian sanctuary to his Paris atelier, Kravitz continues to translate his sound into a striking visual language. He drips with style and oozes cool, but his real secret might be something simpler: For him, success isn’t about collecting “things”—it’s about the joy of creating something real and leaving beauty in his wake.

Adventure just got a serious upgrade. Stockman’s new Trekka 01 teardrop trailer isn’t your typical compact camper—it’s a fully kitted out, off-road-ready pod with space for two e-bikes, dual kitchens, and even a queen-size sleeping area. With features like an auto-leveling suspension, a pop-top roof, and a touchscreen-powered electrical system, it’s built for overlanding without leaving comfort behind. Whether you’re charging up your bikes, cooking inside or out, or just relaxing with a 27-inch TV, the Trekka 01 proves small can still mean seriously capable.

Jacob & Co. has never been shy about spectacle, and its latest creation might be the brand’s most audacious yet. The $150 million Aureum Estate in Dubai Hills translates the jeweler’s signature maximalism into architecture, combining haute design with unapologetic glamour across 42,000 square feet. Conceived by Jacob Arabo and a team of international designers, the glass and marble villa includes everything from a private spa and cigar lounge to a cinema and outdoor DJ booth. With materials sourced from Italy and bespoke furnishings crafted exclusively for the home, it is less a residence than a jewel box on a grand scale, proof that Jacob & Co. can make a statement even without a single diamond.

A new name is joining the hypercar elite. At Florida’s Concours Club, start-up automaker Vittori unveiled the Turbio, a striking hybrid concept created in partnership with Pininfarina—the legendary Italian design house behind some of Ferrari’s most iconic forms. Limited to just 50 examples, the Turbio blends AI-assisted design, 3D-printed titanium components, and a naturally aspirated V-12 engine to create what Vittori calls “art you can drive.” With its sculptural bodywork, adaptive aerodynamics, and an interior that celebrates tactile craftsmanship, this debut signals a bold new direction for performance design—one where beauty and engineering move perfectly in sync.

Cloris Leachman’s former Brentwood estate is back on the market—and it’s been entirely reimagined since the late Oscar winner called it home. Set on nearly an acre in lower Mandeville Canyon, the 10,600-square-foot residence blends old Hollywood grace with fresh California grandeur. Designed by architect Lise Claiborne Matthews, the home now features six bedrooms, seven baths, a sleek chef’s kitchen, and a sunroom overlooking lush gardens. Downstairs, you’ll find a private movie theater, a wine cellar, and a sauna, while outside, manicured lawns and wisteria-lined paths lead to a 50-foot saltwater pool and spa. It’s a fitting tribute to a Hollywood legend—polished, poised, and built for a standing ovation.

Launched in 1974 with its radical wedge profile, the Triumph TR7 was once hailed as “the Shape of Things to Come.” Today, it’s a bona fide classic that remains surprisingly overlooked—and undervalued. With nearly 115,000 examples built, including just 29,000 convertibles, the TR7 brought exotic-car design language to an accessible sports car, later joined by the rarer, V-8–powered TR8. While rust, quirks, and electrical gremlins remain part of the charm, well-kept examples can still be found for under $15,000—making it one of the most underrated vintage buys of its era.

The late Broadway producer Luigi Caiola’s Miami Beach condo is as much a work of art as it is a residence. Designed by Joe Nahem, the 3,700-square-foot space merges two high-rise units at the Continuum South Beach into a kaleidoscopic showcase of color, texture, and craft. From a camouflage-patterned entry tunnel and botanical wood carvings to coral reef-inspired textiles and jewel-toned finishes, every detail was conceived to surprise and delight. With sweeping views of the Atlantic and a design pedigree that matches Caiola’s theatrical legacy, the condo now arrives on the market as one of Miami’s most striking listings.

Chrysler just reimagined the family minivan as an off-road adventurer. The new Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept trades soccer fields for mountain trails with a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and AWD—plus a flat cargo area that doubles as sleeping quarters. A roof rack, retractable awning, and rugged details make it a credible entry into the booming van-life movement. For now it’s only a concept, but if it hits production, the humble minivan may just become the ultimate overlanding rig.

This December, Christie’s London will unveil one of Fabergé’s most extraordinary creations. The Winter Egg, crafted in 1913 for Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, features diamond-set snowflakes, a rock-crystal base, and a delicate platinum basket filled with carved white-quartz anemones. One of only 50 Imperial Easter Eggs ever made—and one of just seven in private hands—the masterpiece could set a new auction record, with estimates exceeding $27 million. With its combination of historical significance, craftsmanship, and rarity, the Winter Egg is poised to be the crown jewel of Classic Week.

Altitude matters, sometimes more than you realize. Across the world’s highest vineyards, from Napa to Salta, elevation shapes grapes in ways both subtle and dramatic. Slower ripening, higher acidity, thicker skins, and richer tannins all contribute to wines with structure, freshness, and complexity. Whether it is Brunello di Montalcino on a windy Tuscan hill, a high Cabernet Sauvignon in Sonoma, or Malbec at 10,200 feet in Argentina, the view from above produces bottles that are as precise as they are expressive. In the world of fine wine, it turns out that what goes up truly comes down in every glass.
