Let’s talk about my relationship with money. I didn’t grow up learning how to manage it, invest it, or multiply it. We didn’t talk about budgeting or building wealth. In fact, we barely talked about money at all. And when we did… it was usually in frustration or fear. 😔 We were just surviving. Finances are what split up households around me. Living paycheck to paycheck. Every dollar that came in already had somewhere to go. Sometimes on things we didn’t need just to feel a little relief… Other times, we’d save it—not out of strategy—but out of fear that something might go wrong. Scarcity mindset. It was all I knew. 😮‍💨 But here’s the truth nobody told me: Money is just a tool. It’s not your identity. It’s not your enemy. It’s not something to fear. That hit me hard years later when I landed a six-figure job. Hybrid schedule. Great benefits. Everything I thought I needed. Then one day—BAM—mass layoffs. Over 70 people gone. Including me... I remember sitting there with my severance pay thinking: “I could just pay rent, play it safe… keep surviving.” But something inside me shifted. Instead of letting fear guide me, I booked a flight to Italy 🇮🇹. Rome, Florence, Tuscany... I said, “Screw it. Money will come again. But this moment? This experience? It won’t.” And you know what? That trip changed me. Walking those ancient streets reminded me of something timeless: 💰 Money is renewable. ⏳ Time is not. And if you spend your life being afraid to lose money, you’ll lose something far more valuable… your life. That trip didn’t set me back. It set me free. My alter ego....🥊🧠 Most people see me now and think I’ve always been calm, focused, and driven. But truth be told, I used to live with rage bottled up inside of me. Not because I wanted to—but because I had to. Bullied. Pushed. Disrespected. And I wasn’t going to take it lying down win or lose. 📸 These photos? That was a different me. I carried hate in my heart, a short fuse, and a mindset that set me back years. I was reactive. I pushed people away. I lost time, connections, and peace. I was so focused on not being the victim that I couldn’t see I was becoming a prisoner to my own mentality. But growth doesn’t come without pressure. I had to go through that storm. I had to lose parts of myself. I had to learn how to channel my pain. Because that boy in the cage became a man with a mission.
