![HAPPY CONSTITUTION WEEK! 🇺🇸
Constitution Week is an annual celebration of the U.S. Constitution, taking place from September 17–23. The week was established in 1956 by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. It has three main goals:
📜 Education: Encourage the study of the events that led to the Constitution’s creation.
📜 Awareness: Remind the public of the Constitution’s importance as the foundation of American life.
📜 Responsibility: Emphasize the duty of citizens to protect the Constitution. September 17, Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, marks the 237th anniversary of the Constitution’s signing in 1787. The day also recognizes those who have become citizens through naturalization or coming of age.

![After several years of learning emotional regulation + practicing it on a daily basis, I’ve compiled a simple how to guide to regulate your emotions when your kids are also loosing it ⬇️
1. Build Awareness
💆🏽♀️ Name your emotions: When you feel something, pause and think about what you’re actually feeling. “I feel scared” , “I feel sad” , “I feel lonely” , most of what we feel boils down to these three tender emotions when we really sit and reflect on how we feel. In child raising I’ve found I have lots of fear that would express as anger. Fear I’m not doing enough. Fear my child will never “get it”. Fear I’m going to fail them in some way. Sit and think about what you’re feeling.
2. Feel your Feelings
💆🏽♀️ Take a moment to just sit and feel what you feel. It’s okay to feel sad. It’s okay to feel scared. It’s okay to feel lonely. It’s okay to feel not enough. We are so prone to stuff and push away our emotions but only when we sit and create space for them can we truly process what we feel
3. Bring in Compassion
💆🏽♀️ After taking a moment to truly feel what you feel, bring yourself compassion in what you feel and simply be with yourself.
“I see you trying so hard”
“it’s okay to feel sad”
“everything is going to be okay”
“I’m so proud of you”
“I can tell you care so much”
“take all the time you need”
“I think your brave”
“I’m sorry you feel trapped”
“I see you” are a few of my faves I’ve learned from lauraduncanconsulting that have been extremely helpful to tell myself in moments where I’m feeling strong feelings
4. Ask the Hard Question
💆🏽♀️ One of the most profound and hardest question I’ve learned to ask myself on a daily basis is: “why does this bother me”. It sounds so simple but when you learn to keep pressing in on WHY you are feeling what you are feeling, you can get to the root of deep issues so these high stakes emotional feelings don’t hit so hard.
I’ll share a few examples of this in daily life in the comments! ⬇️
