I finally have time and energy to start finishing projects that I started. This is our guest room and I initially planned to color drench the room back in November 2024, but I only got around to the walls. Almost a year later, I’m getting back to this project. Jubi has been bathing in this luxury since she could sit up on her own with no support. We were not using the flower bath mat and instead of throwing it away, I thought what if I put them together!?? We’ve been doing this for months now, and it’s the only way to give her a bath now (until she grows out of it 😩). What does it look like to delight yourself in the Lord? It’s a question that I’ve been thinking about these past few weeks. I’ve been craving a more purified life. A purified mind. And a purified heart. So that the words that I speak to others will be refreshing and ultimately reflect God’s character. So I started to look at the things that I delight in. One of those things being coffee. Once I broke it down in my mind I started to feel convicted in my heart. Because the way I delight in my cup of Joe, isn’t the same way that I delight in Christ. But conviction is good. It’s a realization for change and sanctification. I’m happy to now have a better understanding of it. And to continue to unpack this word “delight”. Sometimes I still pause and can’t believe that she’s here. I used to think I should be doing more. And God would constantly remind me in my season of waiting to rest and trust in him. It’s hard being still when you really want something. But it the midst of my forced stillness, like a thief in the night, unexpected, my life changed. My baby was praising him today!! Seeing her clap and praise with us together in church reminds me of Matthew 21:16 that says “They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures?
