Yes, we were rescued by the Indian Army 🙈

It was my first hand experience watching them go above and beyond to rescue us. Alongside us, there were over 300 stranded tourists in Lachen, completely cut off from their families. The army set up satellite phones and gave each of us a precious 2 minute window to call home and reassure our loved ones.

I want to thank our forces from the depths of my heart not just for rescuing us, but for everything they do every single day.

- They stand guard at our borders in unforgiving terrains.
- They brave snowstorms, landslides, and freezing winds to keep supply lines open.
- They build and maintain treacherous mountain roads so that the rest of us can travel safely.
- And when disaster strikes be it floods, landslides, or storms they are the first to step forward, without hesitation.

We often take for granted the peace and safety we live in, but it exists because they carry the weight of danger on their shoulders. 2025-08-23 19:12:48 Yes, we were rescued b.. 621 -97% 7 -95%

Yes, I know, my life has been full of mishaps 😛
And every bit of trauma I’ve shared here has been from 2023. ALL. OF. IT!

Either someone was working some kala jadoo on me, or I’ve just been ridiculously lucky to make it through it all.

Anyway, both soulstrong.vartica and I are endlessly grateful to our armed forces 🥹☺️

The army set up satellite phones and gave each of us a precious 2 minute window to call home and reassure our loved ones.

Even airlifting us wasn’t simple. They had to wait for clear weather in both Lachen and Gangtok to land the Chinooks safely. And yes, I can now proudly say I got a ride home in a Chinook 😆🥹. But that one week was one of the most stressful of my life.

This Independence Day, I want to thank our forces from the depths of my heart not just for rescuing us, but for everything they do every single day.

vaselineindia you’ve outdone yourself, and you’ve officially secured a forever spot in my heart! 💙
Thank you for an EPIC launch and an even more EPIC experience.

Last week, I received an invite that left me intrigued: “We want you to jump from the clouds.” My first thought? “What could skydiving possibly have to do with skincare?”

But as soon as we jumped and that massive flag unfurled, everything clicked - the grand reveal of Cloud Soft Moisturiser!

Just like its name, this formula is cloud-light, non-sticky, and delivers 10x more hydration. And I can confidently say this isn’t just a claim because we didn’t stop at skydiving. Vaseline took us straight to their lab, where we saw the product put to the test right in front of our eyes. Science met skincare, and the results spoke for themselves.

From free-falling through the clouds to discovering a moisturiser that feels just as light, this was more than a product launch. It was an unforgettable adventure that brought the brand’s promise to life.

You’ve heard of Devkund but did you know the best view is from above it? 🥹♥️

A GUIDE -

📍 Where Is It?

Savlya Ghat is about 2.5 hours from Pune, along the scenic Tamhini Ghat Road. The nearest village is Gonawadi, situated near Mulshi Dam, a well-known monsoon destination in the region.

Though it’s technically part of the Mulshi region, it’s often referred to as part of the Tamhini Ghat belt and a popular escape for Pune folks.

🥾 Trek Details

- Trail Distance: ~3 to 5 km (round-trip)
- Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
- Difficulty: Easy to Moderate (in monsoons)
- Terrain: Forest path with gradual descents, rocky patches, and cliffside viewpoints
- Highlights: Breathtaking views of Devkund Waterfall from above, Kundalika Valley, Plus Valley, and Ring Waterfall

🎒 Essentials to Carry

* Footwear: Trekking shoes only (like please guys, so many people were trekking barefoot?!?! It is highly risky, kyun ped tudvane hain, invest in your feet. Buy CTR shoes if budget is a constraint)

* Clothing: Quick-dry pants, poncho/raincoat (avoid umbrellas, it will fly off. Unless you have a drone, we were using both poncho and umbrella to cover our bags)

* Water bottles

* Snacks: Energy bars, dry fruits, or packed lunch

* Electronics: Fully charged phone, power bank

* Fresh clothes and slippers after the trek

🏡 Local Comfort Point (After the Trek)

Right next to the parking spot, there’s a sweet local lady who runs a small home setup and honestly, it’s a blessing, especially during monsoon.

* You can change into dry clothes after the trek
* She serves hot chai, and sometimes even simple food if you ask
* There’s Wi-Fi, charging points, and even a restroom

Basically, if you end up drenched (and you probably will), this is the spot to regroup, change, and refuel before heading back.

Hope this helped ♥️♥️ 2025-08-04 10:31:33 .. 14,975 -27% 161 +21%
A 2-Night journey into Zanskar - everything you need to know -

📍Day 1:
Dobhi is just 40 minutes away from Manali and is right beside the highway, opposite a paragliding ground, making it accessible and far from the tourist chaos. It was honestly ideal for us as all we wanted to do was rest and acclimatise.

🚙 Day 2: Drive from Dobhi to Purney via Shinku La

We started at 6:00am and drove all the way to Purney, crossing Gobo Rangion and Shinku La on the way. The roads were surprisingly smooth most of the way - but heads up: Shinku La has a few gnarly stretches where you 100% need a 4x4.

- Connectivity? Basically non-existent. Only postpaid sims work - and even that, barely.

🏨Stay - Dolma Camps & Cottages:
* 24/7 hot showers (yes, in Zanskar!)
* 3 hrs of power every evening - enough to charge
Simple food, warm hosts, stunning setting by the river

🥾Day 3 - Hike to Phuktar Monastery
This was the heart of the trip.
We hiked to the monastery (although they are constructing a road to the wooden bridge now.)

🚙 Day 4 - Drive Back

📝Few tips if you’re :
* Time to go: Late June - September
* Vehicle: Get a 4x4
* Fuel: Fill up in Tandi
* Network: Only postpaid sims, and patchy at best
* Offline everything: Maps, music, hotel info - prep ahead
* Cash only

Zanskar is unforgettable. No filters, no signal, just the kind of quiet that stays with you long after ♥️ 2025-08-03 14:30:35 A.. 34,384 +67% 59 -56%
Because of THIS trauma, I struggle to ride a scooter downhill. (Proof: ask Vartica 🙈)

But honestly, that day was a turning point. A reminder of how easily we take life, and the people in it, for granted.

Something in me shifted.
I used to chase joy in big, bold things - climbing high mountains, skiing down steep slopes, paragliding over new landing sites. And while all of that was thrilling…

Now, joy looks a little different.
It looks like waking up to chai in bed. Watching movies with Mihir. Talking for hours, sitting cross-legged on the sofa and not rushing anywhere.

There’s something really special about feeling safe, held, and understood in the simplest of moments. Things I probably brushed aside earlier in pursuit of the next big adventure.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but this year… I’ve genuinely slowed down.
I’m not chasing countries, or curating wild experiences.
And surprisingly, I feel content.

Content in the love I have.
Content in the ordinary.
Content in just being, without needing to be more.

Maybe one day I’ll strap on a harness again or ski down some slope, who knows where life will take me.
But for now… I’m exactly where I need to be. And that feels enough. 😊 2025-08-03 10:32:33 .. 32,693 +59% 290 +118%
Where Exactly Is This - Indonesia’s Wild, Beautiful Secret 🥹♥️

I’m sure most of you haven’t heard of Alor and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it so special.

Tucked away in eastern Indonesia, far from the beach bars of Bali, Alor is a place that still feels untouched. It’s raw, wild, and deeply alive because this remote island thrives in obscurity. Partly because of limited infrastructure, but mostly because its local communities remain closely tied to ocean health and conservation.

But if you’re even slightly ocean curious, chances are you’ve heard of the Coral Triangle - often called the “Amazon of the Seas.” This globally significant marine region is home to -

* 76% of the world’s coral species
* 37% of all known reef fish species
* Supports over 120 million people
* Contributes an estimated $2.3 billion annually to local economies

And right in the heart of this triangle - sits Alor.

What makes Alor stand out even among Coral Triangle destinations is its geography.

* Deep channels that create strong tidal flows and cold water upwellings
* Natural migration highway, like an underwater superhighway
* Volcanic origins, with ancient volcanic peaks rising from the sea, creating spectacular above-and-below water landscapes
* Seagrass meadows making it a hotspot for dugongs

No wonder marine biologists love this place as Alor offers encounters that are becoming rare across much of the ocean
* Sunfish (Mola Mola) - Usually found in cooler waters like Bali, they rise to the surface in Alor during high tide
* Pygmy Blue Whales - The smallest of the blue whale species
* Dugongs (Sea Cows) - Seen in shallow bays
* Sharks - From reef sharks to hammerheads in deeper waters.
* Coral Reefs - Over 500 species of corals
In many ways, Alor is what happens when geography, ocean currents, and isolation come together in perfect harmony

It’s one of the last frontiers for marine exploration, a place where rare species still pass by, unbothered by mass tourism, and where the underwater world feels as wild as it should. 2025-08-02 12:02:03 .. 226 -99% 0 -100%

This can’t be real, right?
How can something look soooo DIVINEEEE?!

I sent this to Vartica and she said - and I quote -
“It looks so divine, like if gods were to choose where to live.”

Fiordland is home to 14 incredible fiords - each one carved by glaciers over millions of years. Most people know about Milford Sound, but Doubtful Sound? It’s something else entirely.
Wilder.
Quieter.
Deeper.

Before the trip, I’d read that many travelers actually hope for rain here. The waterfalls multiply, mist rolls in like a movie set, and everything takes on this dramatic, prehistoric energy - like you’ve been dropped into Jurassic Park. So when our journey began under just a few clouds and no rain, I felt a little... disheartened. Was I missing the “real” Fiordland?

But then we reached Doubtful Sound.
And the water... was perfectly still.

Like glass. And in that silence, the entire landscape
- towering cliffs, lush forest, cascading waterfall - reflected back at us like a dream. Like nature had decided to pause just for us.

This made me so incredibly lucky to be standing there, breathing it all in.

No storm. No drama. Just calm, quiet, divine beauty! 😊♥️ 2025-07-17 12:20:52 Th.. 3,204 -84% 37 -72%

🌺 A paradise indeed?

Cyclones can’t form near the equator because the Coriolis effect - the spinning force created by Earth’s rotation - is too weak there to keep them rotating. So storms can’t build up enough spin to become full-blown cyclones.

📍 Where is Seychelles?
Just south of the equator - between 4° and 10° South latitude - putting it in a kind of cyclone quiet zone:
* Too close to the equator for strong cyclones to form.
* Far enough that weak systems can pass nearby, but rarely turn serious.

A few more facts about natural disasters over here:

🌀 Cyclones / Hurricanes: Seychelles lies outside the main cyclone formation zones and is rarely hit directly by strong storms. While the islands can experience the effects of cyclones that form elsewhere in the Indian Ocean direct hits from major cyclones are infrequent.

🌍 Earthquakes:
* The country is also far from major tectonic fault lines, so earthquakes are extremely rare and usually not dangerous.
* There’s no active volcanic activity either.

🌊 Tsunamis: Although Seychelles is not immune to distant tsunamis, the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami did reach its shores. But the damage was far less than in places like Indonesia or Sri Lanka.

🌴 Natural Wonders You Didn’t Know About:
1. It’s made of granite, not volcanic rock - super rare for islands.
2. Home to the world’s largest seed - the famous Coco de Mer.
3. Has the largest population of giant tortoises - more tortoises than people.
4. Boasts some of the cleanest air and water in the world.
5. Anse Source d’Argent is the most photographed beach on the planet.
6. It was once a pirate hideout - and legends of hidden treasure still exist.
7. No indigenous population - people only arrived in the 18th century.
8. One of the tiniest capitals in the world - Victoria is adorably small.
9. It has a marine park you can literally snorkel through - like swimming in a postcard.

Not sure why this country is only known as a honeymoon destination... 😆😒
Like come on - it’s got pirate lore, giant seeds, ancient granite, giant tortoises, and unreal biodiversity.

This isn’t just romantic - this is next-level cool. 😵‍💫 2025-07-09 10:41:11 .. 228,662 +1,011% 421 +216%
