2024 came in pretty quietly. To be honest, I’ve been a little overwhelmed so I’m thankful for it. I finally feel like I’m catching my breath and getting settled into a new year because it never seems to click on day 1. My word for the year is obey - a verb. Obey: comply with the command, direction, or request of (a person or a law); submit to the authority of. I don’t know if a word for the year is still a thing, but I find that throughout the year I get these inspirational moments to check in with my word and without fail, it still resonates on day 365. Some of my goals for the month: 1. Our church fasts collectively for the time between the Sunday after Thanksgiving to the Sunday before Christmas. I literally CANNOT stand fasting during this time (cakes, cookies, treats, parties, holiday drinks 🤤) BUT I get the most growth, shifting, clarity, all good things and I’ll never not do it. 2. I know y’all have the list of class events every day for the next 2 weeks so I’m going to do my best while not going crazy. I’m also going to try and do some family Christmas stuff because one thing I’m going to do is celebrate a holiday on theme. 3. I’ve been relatively consistent in the gym this year but as I’ve said before, I’m not a machine. My back is talking to me right now 😩 so what better time to rest my body and focus on walking, stretching, and resting. Also- see #1…I have no energy when fasting. 4.
