- Feeling 43 and fabulous 🎉🎁 Some of the things that I have learned moving into “middle” age: ✨Strong over skinny ✨The five vanity pounds aren’t worth it, I’d rather have cocktails🍸 on the weekends and pizza 🍕 with my kids when I want it. ✨Never stay in a job you hate. I started my own biz over 6 years ago when most people told me it was dumb idea, and I’ve never looked back. ✨MOVE YOUR BODY. Doesn’t matter what it is just stay active. This will do wonders for not only your body, but your mind and all around lifestyle especially as you get older. ✨Don’t use AGE as an excuse. Give yourself more credit and don’t fall into the “woe is me” category. It’s lame and unsexy, plus getting older is way better than the alternative. ✨Zero f**ks. My f**k-o-meter is at an all time low. Life is so much more enjoyable when you make your own rules and stop caring about how you look to others. ✨You can be a wife and a mom and still go out and be wild. - Shoutout to lynorasrestaurant in Boca! Going out to eat can be daunting when trying to drive progress but no need to keep yourself locked up and away from social situations. Umm depressing much?! Also totally unnecessary. Use these tips to enjoy life while also utilizing STRATEGY. (This works in fat loss AND maintenance). 1. Eat a high protein snack 1-2 hours before. We all know what happens when you go into a meal starving. Don’t save up, this will backfire. 2. Skip the 🍞 basket. Would you ever sit down and eat an entire loaf of bread before dinner at home? I didn’t think so. This habit also spikes your blood sugar causing you to potentially eat more during your meal. 3. Start with a big green salad 🥗, or high protein apps like raw bar 🍤, grilled octopus, chicken lollipops, edamame, or meatballs. 4. Always prioritize your plate with protein 🐠🥩and green veggies 🥦🥬 and use 1/4 of your plate for more “fun foods” like pasta, fries, potatoes, etc or ditch entirely if you want to be “extra.” 5. Choose alcohol OR dessert…not both. Sorry, you can have it all just not all at one time. Sacrifices and restrictions need to be made, but you do have the freedom of choice here! 6. Don’t over complicate it. A few meals out of the month will not prevent you from reaching your goals. I recommend enjoying 1 meal TREAT meal per week. Any others outside of the home are light and tight.
