the most beautiful & romantic train ride I’ve ever been on, and for less than $100. here are all the details 👇🏼

the gorgeous Belle Époque train in Switzerland runs from Montreux to Gstaad and Zweisimmen (and back), offering views of the Swiss countryside. The journey takes about 2h each way.

this train ride has been on my bucket list for the longest time, and I was so happy we got to experience it. 🥹

in addition to the normal daily trips, there are also regular special trips you can book: the chocolate train (with visits to both a cheese and a chocolate factory, and tastings of both!) and the cheese train (with cheese demonstration + fondue lunch).

we ended up booking our tickets for one of the day/times of the chocolate train without knowing, but the experience was sold out by the time we got there and asked. We still got to ride the train like everyone else, except we didn’t go to the cheese and chocolate stops. Next time I definitely want to try that!

💰what’s the price?

A first class ticket to the Belle Epoque train costs CHF 59 per person, plus an additional CHF 10 for seat assignment (about $70 + $12 USD). Second class ticket is a bit cheaper, CHF 34, but doesn’t look like the video above - although it’s beautiful, too.

🍲 is food available?

We had read that there was no food on the train, so we asked our hotel to pack a picnic basket for us since we were going to spend 4 hours on the train (return trip). but once the train departed, we were handed a menu of drinks & snacks.

we ordered some sweets and extra coffee to complement our picnic, and later on, some champagne too! I’ve heard from others that they didn’t get a menu when they went, so I’m not sure if the food/drinks are only available on certain days/times, or if you have to go find a waiter if they don’t come to you.

If this Switzerland train ride wasn’t on your bucket list, I hope I convinced you to add it! 2025-08-26 23:08:42 .. 16,116 +988% 202 -46%

I may or may not have crashed my drone recently in the silliest way possible 🤦🏻‍♀️. But silver lining? It pushed me to try something new, and honestly, I might never go back: the DJI Osmo 360.

The Osmo 360 packs an industry-first 1-inch 360 imaging that captures a wider field than other 360 cameras like the X5, and the image quality is unreal.

It films in native 8K, handles gorgeous slow-mo, does incredible in low light, and even gives you super wide, drone-like angles… without the stress of flying one.

And despite all that power, it’s so lightweight and compact (only 183g!) that I can throw it in my bag and forget it’s even there.

Sometimes travel throws curveballs (like, you know… crashing expensive gear in the only tree around for miles, in the middle of rural Slovenia😬), but it led me to finding something more versatile and way easier to travel with.

10/10 recommend getting the Osmo360 before your next trip!

I had naturhotelforsthofgut in my bucket list for quite a while. this year I finally decided it was time to book.

It was everything I imagined it would be and more. the views, the facilities, the spa, the pools, the lake, the food, the service... 10/10.

And it’s also the most child-friendly hotel I’ve ever been to, without looking like your typical boring family-friendly resort. Brownie points for this. 2025-08-20 23:28:02 send this reel to the.. 1 -100% 0 -100%

Don’t skip this place if you’re going to Paris. Hot take: the best way to see Palais Garnier, also known as Opéra Garnier, is to go during the day (rather than watch a show).
If you can do both, that’s amazing, but otherwise, I’d go during the day on a guided or self-guided tour to really have the time to explore all the corners of this beautiful Opera house.
Many attractions in Paris do an outstanding job of providing incredible multi-media self-guided tours — and Palais Garnier is one of them. You also have the option to join one of their guided tours in English and French.
So don’t make the mistake I made on my first two trips to Paris: don’t skip a visit to the Opéra Garnier. 2025-08-15 04:28:52 Don’t ski.. 2 -100% 0 -100%

this flight normally costs around $12K USD 😱here’s how I booked 👇🏼

I transferred 187k points from my Amex card to Singapore Airlines, and booked directly with them. Taxes and fees were only $5.60!

This was definitely not a cheap redemption in points, but for a last minute booking in First Class, it was not bad — and definitely worth it.

This is your sign to start learning the miles and points game to take advantage of sign up bonuses, transfer partner promos, referral links, bonus categories and more — so you’re not only earning faster with your usual spend, and redeeming for more, too.
