My Journey of Self Worth Growing up like everyone else I found my self worth in the way I looked, the marks I got, if i was a good daughter, good sister. Slowly that narrative shifted as i grew older and my self worth also started coming from my work. So now everytime i got a pimple, had a bad hair day, got rejected, failed or made the tiniest of mistake my self worth would drop down. And everytime i achieved something, everytime people appreciated my looks or my work, my self worth would blow out of the charts. But this slowly started to feel like a bad way to live, to either love yourself and hype yourself up and the very next moment bring yourself down. How could I live a good life but this fragile self worth, that's when i started working on it. What helped was a constant conscious way of looking at myself through love, no matter what. Even when I failed I wouldn't be mean or disrespectful to myself. Also understanding that self worth is not blinding believing that you are always right and you always do well, it just means to accept that you can make errors in judgement, that you may have flaws and yet you deserve love and care. It has been a long journey but I have come a long long way, yet miles to go. Have you thought of your self worth ?
