✈️ Traveling to Europe with kids doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

🎯We’ve taken our 4 kids to Europe twice. That’s 6 roundtrip flights and nearly 23 hotel nights covered almost entirely with credit card points. Twice!

Here’s how:
💳 Instead of using a debit card, we open a new credit card every few months and use it for our regular family expenses (groceries, bills, sports fees, gas, etc.).
🎁 Those everyday purchases help us hit the sign-up bonus, which is usually worth enough points for flights or hotel nights.
🏨 We book hotels with points, often staying 3–4 nights in each city for free.
✈️After we hit the sign-up bonus on a new card, we apply for another one. We want to earn points on every single dollar we spend.

📈These are the exact strategies we use to fly and stay (almost) free with credit card points. No magic tricks, just being intentional with how we spend.

🚀Did you know you can earn enough points to fly 2-3 people to Europe (or just about anywhere) with the sign-up bonus from just one credit card?

❓Want to learn how to get started in Points Travel?

Are you still redeeming your credit card points in the bank travel portal?

👎🏼 Booking travel in the bank portal is actually one of the lowest value ways to redeem your points.

🤷 Many people aren’t even aware that you can transfer your points to dozens of airlines and hotels and you get a better redemption rate almost every time by doing that.

👉🏼 Here’s how we FIND AWARD FLIGHTS for much less than the bank travel portal:

🔍 Know thy TRANSFER PARTNERS

Each flexible points program has their own travel transfer partners (airlines and hotels) that you can transfer your points to.

It’s important to know who your partners are

🔍 Know a little about AIRLINE ALLIANCES

There are three main airline alliances and oftentimes it’s cheaper to book with partners than booking directly with a specific airline.

For example:
United is a Star Alliance partner. If I have miles from a Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, I can book flights on United by transferring points to Air Canada for less than what United charges.

🖥️ Use Google Flights and FlightConnections to narrow down routes

This will show you what airlines fly the route you want. Then head to your travel transfer guide to see who you can transfer points

📲 Use an award search tool like roame, pointme or pointsyeah to find award flights

Just plug in your cities and these search tools do all the work for you.

💺 CONFIRM award availability on airline site

✅Once you see award seats on the award search tool - head to the airline website to CONFIRM they have actual award availability

🔑 Once you find award seats available on the airline site, you’re ready to transfer points to airline.

🛑Never transfer points until you confirm award availability. Transfers are one-way only.

Fly “2 for 1” on Southwest for up to Two Years ❤️💛💙

💬 Comment “BOGO”

👉🏼and I’ll send you my Southwest Companion Guide and FAQ

🔥 The hottest perk in the miles and points world is hands down the Southwest Companion Pass (CP).

Once you have it, a friend or family member flies with you for almost free (just $5.60 in taxes) on any flight you book:
👉🏼 Works on cash AND points flights
👉🏼 No blackout dates
👉🏼 Valid up to two years if timed right!

❤️ How to earn the CP:

To earn the CP you must earn 135k Southwest points in one calendar year. We can do this without flying!

💙 The easiest way to earn 135k Southwest points is to apply for a Southwest business card and SW a personal card

🚀 Right now:
•Personal Southwest cards → 100k bonus until 9/17/25
•Business Southwest cards → 60k–80k bonus
•Plus: 10k points yearly for cardholders + 20k referral bonuses

✅ Yes, you likely qualify for a business card if you have any side hustle (FB Marketplace, eBay, etc.).

⏰ TIMING IS EVERYTHING:

To earn the CP for TWO years, you must earn 135k points as early in the year as possible. Timing is critical.

📅 STRATEGY:
To take advantage of the 100k offer that expires on 9/17/25:

💳 Now- Sept 16:
•Apply for a SW personal card while it has a 100k bonus
•You have five months to meet the minimum spend.
•Save $500-$1000 spend until after January 1st.

📌I recommend the Priority card for free seat selection at booking

💳Oct-Dec: Apply for a SW biz card- remember, do not complete the spend until AFTER Jan 1st.

🛑 RESTRICTIONS:
•You must be under 5/24
•You cannot currently hold a personal Southwest card to be approved for a personal card
•It must be more than 24 months since you last earned the bonus on a personal SW card

✈️ Bottom line: For nearly every Southwest flight you book, your companion flies for just $5.60. And you can switch companions up to 3x per year!

Fly to London for just 6k points + $110! 🇬🇧

This one is hard to beat. Especially for families.

🎄 I was looking for flights to visit the European Christmas Markets in December and found economy flights for just 6k points on Virgin Atlantic!

A roundtrip flight to London will be around 18k-20k points which means you can book 3-4 roundtrip flights to London with just ONE credit card sign up bonus.

👉🏼Let’s take a look:

✈️ Search award flights on Virgin Atlantic - I like to use the Reward Seat Checker on Virgin (to save time, search on an award search tool like seatsaero or pointsyeah)

🔎 Routes to check:

Search the following cities into LHR or MAN

•6K points from: BOS/JFK/IAD/
•7500 points from: MIA/MCO/ATL/TPA/
•9000 points from: SFO/LAX/SEA/LAS

💳 Transfer points from your transferable credit card account (Chase, Amex, etc)– Once you confirm the flight you want, you can transfer points from your credit card account to your Virgin Atlantic account

🔄 Programs that transfer to Virgin Atlantic:
• Capital One Miles
• Chase Ultimate Rewards
• Amex Membership Rewards
• Citi ThankYou Points

🔥 Hot Tip: There is currently a 30% transfer bonus from Capital One to Virgin Red so you’ll need just 4700 miles for this one-way flight. You can combine your Virgin Red miles with your Virgin Atlantic account to book.

📌Good to know: Fees can be high flying out of London, always compare cash price on Google Flights to make sure you’re getting a good deal.

Bruges, Belgium 📍🇧🇪

One of our favorite cities in Europe is Bruges, Belgium.

🚴 Everyone says Bruges makes a great day trip from Brussels. Trust me, you’re going to want to spend more than one day here.

🛌 Where to stay?
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Bruges: just steps from Burg Square, the canals and Markt Square. Literally the best location in town. Now I want to go back for the Christmas Markets.

🍻 What to do:
📌 Explore! Brugge is tiny medieval town with cobblestone streets and canals. Completely walkable. I wanted to explore every corner.
📌Take a canal cruise. The 35 minute ride gives you a quick history lesson and beautiful views. This is a must do.
📌 Visit Markt Square. Grab a beer at a cafe and soak in the same scenery people have enjoyed since 958.
📌 Feeling energetic? Climb the 366 steps to the top of the Belfry Tower for sweeping city views.
📌 Walk to the outer ring of the city to find four historic windmills along the bike path.
📌 Don’t miss Belgian classics: waffles, fries and beer.

🚊 Bruges is just one hour by train from Brussels.
If you can, stay overnight so you can enjoy the city in the quiet mornings and evenings after daytrippers head back.

🌟 Bonus tip: Add Ghent to your list if you have more time!

Want to impress your teenager? Try flying them to Europe in business class for about $100. 🥂✈️

How do we do it? By earning credit card sign up bonuses.

🛑 Before you swipe away let me tell you that it took my sister TWO YEARS to convince me to apply for my first credit card. I was very anti-credit card.

👉🏼I didn’t understand how Points Travel worked and never thought I could earn enough points to redeem for flights.

💅Then I learned the secret! Now we fly to Europe in lie-flat seats multiple times a year and we’re paying less in taxes/fees than what some people spend on checked bags.

🔀 Many credit cards offer lucrative sign-up bonuses in return for you putting spend on your card. That spend is your NORMAL monthly expenses. You don’t have to be a millionaire or overspend to earn a bonus.

📌So, instead of earning zero points by using your debit card every day

•Or earning 1x-2x points per/$ by using that old Costco card you’ve had forever

🚀 You’re earning 60k-200k points every 2-3 months by earning sign up bonuses.

‼️One sign up bonus is enough to book 2-3 domestic flights, or 2 roundtrip flights to Europe OR a one-way flight to Europe in biz class or 2-4 free hotels nights.

🛫It’s really that easy.

🚨10 years in and we have yet to run out of cards and both of our credit score are over 800.

Anyone else dreaming of Fall? 🍂 🧡

We’ve visited New England in the Fall three times in five years. Hotels book up by mid-August, so you want to book soon!

🚗 This four-day road trip through Vermont and New Hampshire is for those that have just a few days and want to hit the Highlights.

🌲 Day 1:
Land in Boston, grab the rental car and head north to Conway, New Hampshire (2hr20min).

The further north you drive, the more brilliant the fall foliage becomes. Conway is the gateway town to the White Mountains and the scenic Kancamagus Highway.

🗺️ Make sure to grab a map at the ranger station at the park entrance.

📸 You’ll spend the day exploring scenic pullouts and overlooks.

Sleep in Lincoln, NH

🚠 Day 2:

•Explore Flume Gorge - a 2-mile loop takes you through waterfalls, a granite walled gorge and covered bridges

•Afterwards, drive 7 minutes north for iconic views from Artists Bluff Lookout (short, steep hike) over Echo Lake.

•If you have time, ride the Franconia Notch Aerial Tramway for more stunning views.

•Drive 1.5 hrs to Stowe, VT where you’ll sleep.

🍎 Day 3: Explore Stowe

•Visit the Trapp Family Lodge
•Ride the gondola for amazing fall color at Smuggler’s Notch
•Find the 3 covered bridges
•Explore the village and shops

On your way to Woodstock (1.5 hrs) stop for apple cider donuts at Cold Hollow Cider Mill.

👉🏼 If you have time, stop in Montpelier, the state’s capital. It’s a hidden treasure

Sleep in Woodstock, VT

🍁 Day 4: Explore Woodstock, VT

•Explore Main Street
•Visit the Woodstock Inn
•Visit Sugarbush & Billings Farm
•Walk across Middle Covered Bridge
•Drive down Barnard and Pomfret Roads

🌲 Stop at Quechee Gorge on your way back to Boston - it’s right outside of Woodstock

🎃 If you have time, stop in Salem, Mass (just 30 min outside of Boston) they go all out in October.

Flying your family of four to Europe on points is easier than you think!

With strategic card applications and a little time you could be on the next flight to London for under $200!

👉🏼 Here’s how to do it:

✈️ For a family of four to fly to Europe on points we need around 20k miles each way, per person. For a total of 160k miles.

💳 The Citi AAdvantage Platinum card currently has a sign-up bonus of 80k miles (enough for TWO RT flights!)

🔎To earn the bonus you’ll need to make $3500 in purchases in the first four months of account opening.

🛒 That’s just $875 a month (For us, that’s paying our cell phone, groceries and household bills)

✅ Step 1: Player One (you) will apply for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum credit card to earn 80k AA miles

✅Step 2: After you earn the sign up bonus, Player Two (your partner ) will apply for the same Citi AAdvantage Platinum card to earn another 80k AA miles

✈️ After meeting the minimum spend, you will each have 80k miles in your AA account which is enough to book four roundtrip flights in economy to Europe. You will only pay the taxes and fees.

🚀 Take it a step further and each get the Chase Sapphire Preferred, this will earn you over 150 of my favorite points and enough to redeem for SEVEN free hotel nights!

📣 Comment “AA” and I’ll send you a direct link to this offer (not a referral or affiliate link)

We had a fabulous two days in Venice. We only booked two things and spent the rest of the time exploring the canals and getting lost, which I think is the best thing to do in Venice.

👉🏻 Here are some tips from our visit:

🚆 Arrival from Train Station:
•Vaporetto tickets: €9.50 each way, or if you plan to ride often, consider 24/48 hr pass. Slow (35-45 min to San Marco stop)
•Water Taxi: $$$, fast, best if you’re traveling with 3-4 people or have a lot of luggage

⛪️ What we booked in advance:
•St. Marks Basilica (+ Museo for terrace access). Shoulders/knees must be covered.
•Campanile (cheaper on site than online -€10 vs €12). Elevator takes you up to great views of the city.
•Doge’s Palace: book first time slot

🚤Highlights:
•Getting lost and exploring, window shopping. This is where we stumbled on hidden gems
•Sunset near the Rialto Bridge
•Gondola Ride (€90 up to 5 people, €110 after 7p). Where you get on matters.
•Evening drinks in St. Mark’s Square
•Bridge of Sighs
•Get up early one morning and walk around, you’ll have the city to yourself

⏰ Have more time?
• Daytrip to Murano (glass making) or Burano (colorful buildings, known for lace making)

📚Worth the hype?
• Liberia Acqua Alta - maybe if you get there when it opens
•Ponte dei Conzafelzi -yes, and it’s steps from bookstore 👆🏼

🍧 What YOU recommended:
•Cafe Florian - oldest cafe
•Gelato at Suso
•Explore areas AWAY from Rialto and San Marco, less busy, more charm

Anyone else lose all sense of reality when they travel?

Three days into our trip I was forgetting to call my husband and take my Synthroid. Day five, I had no clue what day of the week it was.

Five Days in Florence 🇮🇹🖼️🍝

First stop on our Italian adventure was Florence.

We spent five nights which was enough to see all the highlights and take a fun day trip to Tuscany.

🛏️ Where we stayed:
We booked a triple room at the relais_hotel_centrale_firenze Location was perfect, steps from everything! Room was large and our rate included breakfast.

 🖼️ Highlights of our trip:

•Uffizi Gallery – largest collection of Renaissance art. This museum is huge (over 4 stories). Book first time if possible.
•Michelangelo’s Statue of David – At della’Accademia (book first time of the day)- breathtaking!
•Duomo - Every walk includes a stroll by the Duomo. If you want to climb Brunelleschi’s Dome, it’s free, but you need to book timed entrance in advance
•Pitti Palace & Boboli Gardens: Gardens were underwhelming but we enjoyed the apartment tour and seeing period fashion
•Wine Windows: Find one or three. Our fave was at giuntiodeon
•Visit a rooftop bar with Duomo views. We booked viewonart
•Take a day trip! We booked a day trip to Cortona (Under the Tuscan Sun home), Montepulciano, and Siena—we got to visit a family farm and winery. The drive through the rolling hills was 10/10
•Sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo. Hike up, taxi or take the #13 bus for sweeping panoramic views of Florence.
•Eat gelato 🍦

🛵What YOU guys recommended:
•Mercato Centrale
•Pasta making class
•Osteria Za Za
•Santa Croce Church
•Trattoria La Giostra - pear ravioli
• Rub the bronze pig in the market square
•Eat at allanticovinaiofirenze

We are heading back to Italy (for the 3rd summer in a row) and I thought it may be helpful to share what tickets we have purchased in advance.

🎟️ While it’s not necessary to book every tour or museum in advance, I do think you should prebook the ones I have listed so you’re not disappointed that you couldn’t get in or that you spend hours in the hot sun waiting in line.

⏰ Always do your research as many sights now require timed reservations.

PRO TIP: Try to always book direct for cheapest ticket (look for the .it at the end of the website) and book the FIRST MORNING SPOT to beat the heat and the crowds.

👉🏼 Here’s what we booked before our trip:

🎨 Florence
Galleria dell’Accademia – Statue of David. Tickets go live 60 days in advance. Book the first time slot of the day to avoid crowds. These ticket sell out quickly

🛵 MILAN
The Last Supper: Tickets are released quarterly in three month blocks and sell out almost immediately

🏛️ Rome
Colosseum: Timed-entry tickets become available 30 days in advance (book first time slot or last one)

Vatican Museums: Reservations open 60 days in advance.

🚆 Train Tickets: High speed (long-distance) trains, like Venice to Rome, are less expensive if you purchase in advance.

🍋 Amalfi Coast: Ferries - For high season (July–Aug): book ferry tickets in advance, especially for the morning sailings - they do sell out

No, we’re not rich.

We just figured out how to earn a lot of points on every dollar we spend.

👋🏼 Hi! My name is Stacy. I’m an RN and a mom and I have been teaching people how to redeem points for (nearly) free flights and hotels for over ten years on Instagram

🛑 All my information is completely free - no courses to buy. No gatekeeping

📌 We put away our debit card and pay for every single bill and monthly expense on a new credit card to earn a lucrative sign-up bonus. Every single dollar we spend earns 3x-5x points per dollar.

💳 Once we earn a sign-up bonus - we apply for another credit card. We’ve been doing this for over ten years and our credit score is always over 800.

✈️ Once we earn our bonus points - we transfer points to airlines to book flights for just the cost of taxes and fees - usually around $100 but can be as low as $7!

🚀 In the past 13 months we’ve flown:
•American business class to Frankfurt: 62k AA miles + $5.60
•Iberia Business Class to Madrid: 57k miles + $75
•Emirates Biz class to Milan: 87k miles + $190
•AA biz class from Paris to NYC: 57k miles + $85
•Singapore Airlines biz class to NYC: 60k miles + $270 (TWICE!)

🛵 The girl that never thought she’d go to Europe, now gets to go 2-4 times a year, and in business class.

Ready to start traveling for less?

If you’re looking for the best way to see the Greek Islands, I think I found it! 🇬🇷

Sailing through the Greek Islands with WindstarCruises was like being in our own Below Deck episode and we just can’t stop thinking about it.

🛳️ Our itinerary took us to:
Athens>Mykonos>Kusadasi, Turkey>Patmos>Santorini>Milos> Monemvasia

🧳 We were able to visit 7 different islands without:
•Packing and unpacking
•Hurrying to get on and off a crowded ferry (with our bags)
•Any lost travel time (because we sailed at night)

🏛️I recommend arriving 1-3 days early into Athens. We had fun visiting the Acropolis and exploring the city before getting on our yacht.

🛟 I was worried about:
•Getting seasick (never happened)
•Feeling stuck on the boat (we spent every day in a new town and couldn’t wait to get back on board)
•Too many people (only 148 people on board, the ship never felt crowded)
•Crowded ports - in all but one port, we were the first ship to arrive which meant no crowds

🛳️ Highlights of our cruise included:
•Peeking out our port window every morning to see a new landscape
•BBQ dinner overlooking Santorini at sunset with crew dancing
•Getting to explore 7 different islands (which would be very difficult to do on one trip)
•The Evening in Ephesus was a once in a lifetime experience (and exclusive to Windstar passengers)
•Jumping off the back of a yacht and swimming in the Aegean sea-unforgettable
•Getting back on the ship in the evening and going over the days adventures with the ship crew and new friends over a delicious meal
•Going back to our room where our beds had been turned down with a new little treat on our pillows (chef’s kiss)

🦀 The cruise was a perfect mix of island hopping, history, sun, swim, relaxation, gorgeous sunsets over the Aegean Sea and meeting new friends.

Ya’ll, when we travel, we travel! ✈️

We get up early to avoid the heat and the crowds, we walk 20k steps a day, we try to catch a couple of sunsets. We see all the things!

Have you see the videos where people have strict rules and make people sign contracts before going on a group trip?

Some of them are really funny 😆

✅ My Rules are simple:
•Must be able to afford trip
•Don’t pack more than you carry
•Minimal complaining (for me too)
•We will be sightseeing most of the time (but you can do your own thing if you want)
•Be on time, don’t keep people waiting

Have fun!

What are your rules for a group trip?

We just spent 7 days sailing around the Greek Islands on our first ever cruise with WindstarCruises and it was beyond any of my expectations. 🇬🇷

This was more than a cruise - it was truly an experience that we won’t soon forget. ❤️

If you have avoided cruising (like we have) because you didn’t want to be stuck on a ship with 5,000 people, you need to take a look at Windstar Cruises.

🛳️ What makes it different?

•Windstar only has small luxury yachts - our cruise had 148 passengers, so it never felt crowded. Prepare to feel spoiled.
•Personalized service: the crew and staff knew our names by Day Two, they knew our drink orders, they knew what we liked for breakfast.
•Because the sailing yachts are smaller, we could visit smaller port towns that big cruise ships can’t - like Milos and the perfect treasure of Monemvasia.
•Windstar has partnered with the James Beard Foundation, so every meal we had was delicious
•Unique experiences: Windstar included several events that elevated our experience including dinner at Ephesus that is exclusive to Windstar passengers, and a special sunset BBQ in the port of Santorini. Just wow!
•Small yacht means we could dive and swim off the back. This was a Highlight. 🏊🏻‍♀️
•The crew are the heart of the ship and what makes Windstar’s mission “180 from Ordinary” come to life. Why didn’t anyone tell me we would fall in love?

🏛️Treasure of the Greek Isles Itinerary:
📍 Athens
📍 Mykonos
📍 Kusadasi, Turkey (exclusive evening at Ephesus = once in a lifetime experience)
📍 Patmos
📍 Santorini
📍Milos
📍 Monemvasia (hidden gem status)

Have I convinced you to book a Windstar Cruise yet?

Last night was magical! I want you all to experience it.

🗺️ The second stop on our Treasures of Greek Isles Windstar Cruise was Kusadasi, Turkey.

🛳️ Windstar Cruises offers complimentary Destination Discovery events on their cruises and we were lucky enough to attend the event at the ancient Roman city of Ephesus, Turkey.

This event included a four course dinner in front of the Library of Celsus (built in 126 AD) at sunset and was exclusive to Windstar passengers.

We had this ancient wonder of the world to ourselves in the evening and it was amazing!

🎻 We arrived as the sun was setting, we walked in the footsteps of Cleopatra and Mark Antony, members of the Aegean Orchestra were performing, the monuments and library were glowing, the stars came out. 🕯️

❤️The magic didn’t end there though. As we returned to our ship after dinner, we were greeted by the entire Windstar crew welcoming us back.

We are being completely spoiled on this Windstar Cruise. Put this one your list.

The first stop on our Windstar Treasures of Greek Isles Cruise was Mykonos. 🇬🇷🛳️

Our Windstar ship was the first to arrive so we got the town to ourselves for almost two hours.

🐈 We got to explore every little street and alleyway without feeling rushed and without crowds.

Our faves were:
•Strolling the cobblestone paths and getting lost
•Seeing the Windmills
•Petting each cat we came across
•Eating and shopping in Little Venice
•Hiking to the top of Old Town for sweeping views
•Running into a pelican by the waterfront

The best part was returning to the ship and sharing our adventures with the crew!

We’re on our first ever cruise with Windstar Cruises and loving it so far.

Have you been on a cruise before?
