LET ME BE HONEST WITH YOU! 
After teaching many many years l came to the point that some exercises don’t give any benefits to my clients and l don’t enjoy teaching them. 
Some of instructors won’t agree with me but here is the fact. 
1-  A Hundred 
My clients feel neck pain not abs. Also it’s quite boring to count up to 100 🤦‍♀️
2- Stomach massage
This exercise actually more hip flexion and extension and lots of my clients struggle to put the feet on the bar in a sitting position. 
It’s hard to feel abs working. 
The name should have been hip massage 🙈
3- Rocking 
Clients using the momentum to rock forward and backwards rather than using the abs. It’s so easy to cheat.

I get this question a lot. I qualified 17 years ago where everything was traditional. Over the years Pilates has changed a lot and as a teacher you must be open to be open minded and update yourself every year. 
Personally l love adding some spices into my classic method to challenge my clients and keep the class more interesting.
