- Things I do to optimise my health … 🌸Cryotherapy and steam rooms therapy. Whilst cryotherapy is amazing for reducing inflammation, speeding up metabolism and it just feels great, steam room therapy is a great way to stimulate the lymph system, detox and unwind. 🌸Sungazing and being out in nature: I love being outdoors and connecting to nature. I choose activities where I am outside, close to nature as much as possible — walking, hiking, biking, swimming or simply sitting in the fresh air and sunshine, Al fresco dining anyone? :) 🌸Tea … yes tea :) tea is very important to me. I love hibiscus tea, matcha and buckwheat tea (try buckwheat_t_uk) Tea break is an enjoyable and grounding part of my day and something I look forward to during a busy day. 🌸Meditation: although it is not yet my daily practice, I am trying to incorporate it into my routine as much as possible. I prefer guided meditations to get me into a flow. 🌸 Intermittent fasting: great for hormonal balance, mood, digestion and weight regulation. 🌸Pilates, of course! - A lot of women asked me how I stayed in shape during my recent pregnancy. My first advice is of course to consult with your GP and obstetrician and generally it is not advisable to a start a completely new and possibly strenuous routine! Personally I continued with reformer Pilates sessions (my favourite) however choosing specially designed prenatal sessions. I attended tenhealthfitness at their new beautiful studio in Nine Elms, London. I supplemented studio work with workouts at home. I used various apps, such as lottiemurphy_ as well as maia.wellco who both have dedicated sections for prenatal Pilates and beyond. I loved both! I also continued with my ashleydeleonpilates practice which offers both pregnancy friendly and regular session with elements of flow! In addition I used downdogapp for prenatal yoga workouts! I also did a lot of walking and stretching! I took a small break of 6 weeks after giving birth, gradually re-incorporating workouts into my life.
